As Blu and the nameless one slept the black and purple furred beast watched and gathered it's clan. It knew this was a risky gamble but it also knew if it succeeded here it would finish it's prey off with minimal risk to itself and to it's fellow kin.
They crept up silently and slowly to the campsite while doing their best to ensure a successful ambush. These beasts had been trained for weeks now and were becoming fairly proficient in skilled silent attacks that they used for routine hunting now. They creeped every so softly and slowly. Moving an inch a minute. At this pace it took them an hour to even get close enough to start positioning themselves around the campsite. Since the nameless one and Blu chose the river to camp near it made it more difficult to surround them silently and the leader of the beasts decided it wasn't worth trapping the river side as they were almost guaranteed to make noise going so close to the water. They surrounding their prey the best they could but during this time Blu awoke.
Blu awoke to a startling smell of the same beast who pummeled her near death. She immediately started to shake with fear and using her paws she started to paw against the nameless one hoping he would wake up soon as she did her best to remain quiet as well. The previous trauma had inflicted quite a substantial mental scar on her and this smell constantly invaded her dreams as she couldn't forget it so smelling it so freshly now absolutely terrified her. As the nameless one hadn't awoken yet she paniced and as she did she let out a faint yelp. This startled both the nameless one as he was familiar with her yelps from caring for her after she was wounded, but it also alerted the surrounding black and purple furred beasts that had surrounded them.
The leader of the beasts had paused as it heard this faint yelp and pondered for just a moment as it narrowed it's bloodthirsty eyes towards the campsite. Blu and the nameless one we're both in a tent like structure with a small fire on the outside of it slowly dwindling down. Previously it had decided once the fire died completely it would initiate it's attack killing them both in one fell swoop but now this beast had a second thought. Had it been discovered already? It didn't believe it could be as they hadn't made a single sound with it's entire troop and this beast as cunning as it was hadn't realized the smell they all carried could be detected even by a sleeping Blu.
The nameless one awoke when Blu let out the faint yelp and he without moving scanned his surroundings and noticing Blu's mad trembling he slowly reached to his side grabbing his halberd. He knew something that could scare Blu this bad was dangerous and wasn't worth playing it risky. He motioned to Blu the best he could with his eyes to calm down but she just trembled more. Realizing Blu could possibly make this more difficult if he was in dire straights he did the only thing he could decide at this moment. He lurched up forward and just as he did a bamboo spear launched into the makeshift tent right where his head just was penetrating a meter deep into the ground. Realizing he just barely survived He screamed and pushed Blu straight into the river through the opening of the tent.
"BLUUU!!! Swim downstream I'll join you soon!"
The beast leader growled seeing it's ambush had failed. It realized this Blue furred creature was the reason it's plan had failed and doing so screeched an order of it's own to his comrades in it's native beast tongue. The rest of the ambush troop screeched back in response with half directly lunging into the water to give chase to Blu and the other half surrounding the nameless one. The leader prepared to use this half to kill the nameless one.
Realizing the danger both he and Blu were in the nameless one swore under his breath. "Fucking beasts I'll kill you all and prevent you all from ever calling this forest a home ever again!" He lunged forward knowing time was of the absolute essence and every second he spent fighting these beasts was another that Blu could possibly die while swimming away. Blu was however in a fight or flight animal instinct and chose flight naturally using her webbed paws to swiftly swim away from these beasts as fast as she could, but as she did she realized these beasts we're fairly proficient swimmers even with their large frames they managed to somewhat keep up with her and her swift speed.
The nameless one was swinging the halberd frantically at this point realizing he was outnumbered and these beasts were using Spears and were even proficient with them! He was sweating heavily worried now that he may not make it in time to save Blu. NO! He couldn't think these thoughts. Right now her life was depending on him and he knew he was the only one who could save her right now. He refocused his mind and started swinging the halberd how like he had trained with quick and efficient vertical slices and following up with either spinning jabs or horizontal spinning slashes he made quicker work of two of the beasts. Four were left now and he knew 6 were still in pursuit of Blu. He realized how naive he was to believe this forest wouldn't give birth to something so dangerous even after fighting just one of these beasts he convinced himself it was a fluke as that had been the one and only one he saw.
"Blu won't make it at this rate and even I'm starting to get tired fighting these beasts." Just as he said this He cut another ones arm off and enraged the leader who screeched another order and this time the beast with the severed arm launched it's spear like a missile towards him knowing it would be defenceless after it did so it did so without hesitation as it was a true surprise attack that even this man wouldn't expect...
