Oliver sighed. Allen had explained to him that he must pass the semester and then come to the apprentice recognition at the end of the semester. This meant that Oliver had a while until he could venture out into the world.
At least the villain incident had been solved. But before that, Oliver couldn't walk the streets without turning his head at random moments, which made him look dumb.
Oliver wasn't an apprentice yet, but Allen still trained him like one. Allen took him to the "Grassy Plateaus" where there was a battle school with archery ranges.
Allen brought Oliver up to the course, he pulled out an arrow, notched it to his bowstring and fired.
The arrow whizzed past the grass and hit the target, bullseye.
Allen shifted to Oliver's direction, "You won't be able to use a Horizian VI Bow yet, it'll take years of training. For now, here," Allen handed Oliver a bow. "It's a recurve bow. Now, you aren't going to be able to rapidly fire with great accuracy yet, you'll need daily training, each hour and minute will help you get better," said Allen with a perfectly grim face. Oliver drew back the string and slowly moved it back. "It's draw weight is low, which will help you since you are a beginner."
Then Allen guided Oliver throughout the basics, "Aim...focus breathing, your arms are shaking now. Pull the arrow back out," Allen instructed.
"You will keep doing shooting exercises to gain muscle memory and strength, and remember a Shroud... Should never miss,"
For the next several weeks Oliver trained harder than ever after school, "Just because you aren't an official apprentice yet... doesn't mean you could slack off," Allen told him day by day. Oliver managed to shoot three arrows and only hitting one on the target. Of course, Oliver hoped more. If he wanted to have insane shooting he will have to practice more of course, but only if it was a faster process!
One day after school, Oliver and Alyss decided to walk to the Grassy Plateaus together, since literally, everything was there, from Football fields to Battle school, everything a person needed for entertainment was there. Including arcade, Oliver noted.
Alyss and Oliver walked down the path and through the trees and into a sunny, bright, and beautiful area.
"Well," said Oliver. "I'm off to practice, let's meet up at 6:00,"
Alyss agreed and smiled as she skipped away.
Oliver looked at her getting smaller as she skipped farther and farther away. He then gave a sigh of disbelieving, it was crazy that just a few months ago he would never have thought of meeting Alyss or anyone here. It was almost scary as if he would suddenly wake up realizing this was all a dream. Oliver shook his head, yeah right. Alyss seemed real, so did Gugs and everyone else.
Oliver tried to think of other things, but this was just one of those thoughts that always come back the harder you try and get rid of them. Nonetheless, Oliver eventually forgot about the thought of everything being fake and gave into training and working out. Oliver breathed in and out slowly as he pulled back the bowstring. He then aimed and fired. Bullseye! Oliver felt a great surge of accomplishment, he managed to hit the target with pure skill, not luck. Oliver put the bow down, half of the reason for taking a break was that he was tired, the other half was that he didn't want to miss after such a good shot and ruin the moment. He grabbed his water and gulped it down, then he got up and did some pushups for the heck of it.
At around dusk, Oliver met up with Alyss who was reading a book under a tree. Oliver stopped for a moment to admire the view, it was like a movie where a person just sat under a tree reading while leaves just swiftly floated to the ground around them.
Oliver then walked up to her, "What're you reading?"
Alyss quickly put the book down. Oliver noticed that she didn't want him seeing the title for an odd reason. Oliver played it cool, "Let's go, we wouldn't want to just stay here till midnight, would we?"
Alyss stared at him for a second, "Yeah," she said grabbing her bag and putting her book inside it. Oliver caught a glimpse of the title, *The Dawn of Love*
"It sounds like a romance novel," thought Oliver.
Alyss got up and walked in front of Oliver towards Mid-Horizon, the truth was... Alyss didn't read the book "The Dawn of Love" because she was very intrigued by it, her mother had written it before she had died. The last memory of her is this one copy of the book. She didn't want anyone to know this, of course, it was too touchy of a subject. Although Oliver does seem like he would be chill about it, after all, Alyss was chill when Oliver told him his parents passed away. Alyss still didn't want anyone to know of her past, not even Fionna knew about the book. She just could find the urge to share it with someone.
Alyss and Oliver walked into Mid-Horizon they rode up the elevator and parted ways, Alyss left at the seventy-seventh floor.
She walked up to her apartment door and put her hand in front of the door handle. A hologram appeared and scanned Alyss' hand.
She entered the apartment, "Fionna, I'm back!"
Fionna emerged from the couch, "What took you so long,"
"I went outside again today,"
"Another date with Oliver?" teased Fionna.
"It's not-" she stopped knowing that Fionna wouldn't care what she said.
Alyss walked into her bedroom, she changed and did her homework. She wondered, "What would Oliver be doing right about now?
Oliver walked into his floor and greeted the two guards stationed in front of his apartment.
The king decided that the North-East tower which was the tower he and the entire gang lived in would be protected a lot, and Oliver was required to move his stuff back to his old room with Sami as his roommate, Oliver knew he should be happy. But he couldn't help but feel greedy since he didn't really want to back to the room with Sami since it was 7 levels under his awesome office. But he had to suck it up, at least he could talk to Sami and they could chill and have fun.
Oliver finished moving the rest of his stuff to his old bedroom and he chilled and watched T.V with Sami until he realized he should be finishing his project. He walked into his room and powered on his computer. He typed an essay and biography. Once he finished he thought it looked great.
Oliver sat on his P.C for a bit, he then opened up Google and searched up, "The Dawn of Love"
Oliver sighed, no results... just a bunch of random stuff.
He then jumped onto his bed and closed his eyes. He thought of what Alyss must be doing, sleeping was, of course, the most obvious answer.
The following day Oliver woke up and got ready. He didn't call Sami or anything he just left. Oliver met Alyss at the common room, "Good morning," said Alyss conversely.
"Mornin," smiled Oliver. They walked out of the tower and towards the school entrance. Oliver and Alyss were just talking as the moon was slowly changing color, a blood moon. Oliver and Alyss walked indoors. Suddenly Alyss stumbled. Oliver grabbed her with his lightning-fast reflexes. "Alyss? What's wrong?"
Suddenly Alyss started grabbing her ears, which were ringing.
Oliver stood there not know what to do, suddenly his mind sprung into action. He grabbed Alyss' bag and put it on then Oliver held Alyss. He ran as fast as he could to Edwards office. People staring at him like he just murdered someone as he ran through the hallways, up the stairs, a turn to the right. Suddenly Oliver stopped in front of Edwards office and he kicked open the door.
"What the F#%@?!" exclaimed Edward. "This is an infirm- Oliver? Why are you holding Alyss?"
Oliver turned a bit red realizing his actions, "Alyss..." said Oliver. "She collapsed once we entered the school,"
"Did she now," said Edward. "The blood moon must have affected her,"
Oliver stared blankly.
"What do you mean Edward?"
"I mean, Alyss has Lunar manipulation. If there is a blood moon it causes her pain at first and then she adapts to it and gets stronger,"
"So... Is she fine?"
"She'll be alright, put her down on this bed to your left," directed Edward.
Oliver laid Alyss down. He then sat down on the couch to the side. He closed his eyes and listened, her heartbeat was rushing. Oliver grabbed a blanket and put it over.
"Looks like," said Edward watching Oliver and Alyss. "Alyss is gonna be here for a while, you can stay Oliver. Class is overrated,"
Oliver knew that Edward would never normally let a student skip class on his watch. What was the deal this time?
Edward stood up, "I'm gonna go you can stay here 'with' her," said Edward. For some reason, he strained the word 'with' which was uncanny.
Edward smiled as he walked out the door,
"I miss the days when I was young and had someone. It really sucks that time has passed by so fast," thought Edward.
Oliver listened to Edwards footsteps getting further and further away. Oliver daydreamed and looked at Alyss.
Oliver looked to the right and there was Alyss' bag. With... the book. Oliver reached for the bag and just as he was about to reach in he stopped. Alyss didn't want him seeing this and he should respect that. Oliver put the bag down. Minute after minute the urge to read the book grew. With nothing to do Oliver reached inside the bag and pulled out the book.
>>>>>>The Dawn of Love<<<<<<
-Chapter One
As a child, I wasn't taught about the truth in the real world. I always imagined a perfect life like in those Fantasy novels. But I knew that wouldn't happen, not in a hundred years.
Alyss, I know you have lost me at a young age, I know that you will miss me, so I chose to compose this book in dedication to you. This is, "The Dawn of Love"
The book went on explaining a woman's life, that was Alyss' mother.
Then came the death of the mother.
"Alyss, I love you. Your future is no longer in my hands, you have to find your North Star. Without anyone, you will forget who you are, remember... you are the future of-" The rest of the page was splattered with blood.
Oliver dropped the book right back into the bag. He was shocked by Alyss' past. She had kept this a secret for a reason. And the book had blood, the blood of... the mother.
Suddenly tears flew out of Oliver's eyes, he realized that Alyss was reading this day after day. Night after night. And Oliver would always see her reading, under that tree.
That tree Oliver thought as he drifted away.
Oliver opened his eyes as he saw an infinite dark, "Where am I?" burst out Oliver.
A dark and creepy laugh caused chills to creep up Oliver's neck.
"Did you forget about me?" said a faint figure behind Oliver.
"Diablo," Oliver clenched his teeth.
"I've come to warn you, Jack,"
Oliver scrunched his eyebrows as he heard his nickname, which was his fathers' name.
"They are after you, whatever you do. Do not let them get 'us' or else they will use me to destroy everything, including myself."
"YOU JUST CARE ABOUT YOURSELF!!" Shouted Oliver. "IF THEY WEREN'T AFTER BOTH OF US, YOU-you wouldn't give a shit!"
"That may be the right boy," chucked Diablo. "But I don't think you want the universe ending do you?" Oliver didn't say anything.
"I thought as much," said Diablo.
Suddenly everything blurred, Oliver's head spun as if he was doing twenty somersaults in a second.
Oliver woke up, he realized he was asleep on the couch. Oliver sat up and noticed the window was open, the sky was clear, and a nice breeze flowed in the room. Oliver noticed a lunch bag on the desk with Edwards handwriting. "I got you and Alyss something to eat. Don't wake her up, but if she wakes up then treat her to a meal. Lol."
Oliver realized Edward planned this out so that he would have to go treat Alyss. "I'll kill Edward the next time I see him!" said Oliver aloud.
*Edward who was in the city sneezed*
Oliver looked down at Alyss who still fast asleep, but she seemed perfectly normal. The wind was blowing her Carmel brown hair a bit.
Oliver remembered that he had read Alyss' book. He felt guilty for that, but he couldn't help but feel that it was worth learning about what happened to Alyss. Now Oliver understands the things she's been through, so it didn't matter if Oliver treated her to a hundred meals.
(Author's very irrelevant note- I lost the story after this three times, so I got pretty mad. I kept forgetting to friggin SAVE!!)
Oliver grabbed the food and chowed down as he stared out the window.
Finally, Alyss groaned as she woke up.
"What time is it?" asked Alyss. "And where am I?"
"Oh, you're finally awake," Oliver grinned. "You're at Edward's infirmary, and school is just about to end,"
"I missed all the classes?"
"School is overrated anyway," said Oliver. "At least you slept, Sami would be envious,"
They both laughed.
Oliver suddenly felt enlightened and he felt carefree.
Alyss had this illuminated look in her eye.
"You have anything I can eat?" she asked. Oliver felt wrong for eating all the food he had and not asking if she wanted any.
"Oh-" said Oliver. "I should give you when I had food, my bad,"
"It's good," she said but Oliver heard a hint of disappointment.
"You know what," said Oliver. "Let's go to a restaurant, my treat. You down?"
Oliver realized that he basically asked her out and he felt his face getting a bit red.
Alyss looked at him, then simpered, "I'm down for free food,"
The bell rang, school time was over and kids rushed out of classes talking to each other.
"Where we going?" asked Oliver as he followed Alyss through Mid-Horizon.
"I guess we'll go to a Tea-slash-Coffee shop, they have food as well,"
"Okay," said Oliver.
They walked out of the school and walked into The Town of Beginnings.
Alyss led Oliver through the streets and in front of a shop which had a sign saying, "Quad Tea."
They walked in and saw a person with a beard growing but the odd thing was that he was not that, possibly a bit older than both Alyss and Oliver which said something since they were only about fourteen.
"How can I help you two," said the bearded owner.
"Let's see..." said Alyss.
"For one," said Oliver. "Milk tea,"
"And for two," continued Alyss. "Give us some rusk,"
"Comin' right up!" said the owner.
Alyss picked a table and they sat down waiting. A waitress came up to them obviously not knowing that they had already ordered something. The waiter spoke French, "*_----------_?*"
"Bless you," said Oliver.
Alyss gave out a mild chuckle. "That's French,"
The waitress repeated the question.
But this time Oliver understood. "-What would you like?-" she asked.
"What the-" thought Oliver. "How do I understand?"
"We're fine, thank you," said Oliver. The waitress walked away.
Alyss stared at Oliver with her mouth hanging open.
Oliver raised an eyebrow, "What? Am I that handsome?"
"No!" exclaimed Alyss.
"Wait, I mean you are handso-" she stopped and blushed.
"You just spoke French," said Alyss desperately trying to cover her previous statement.
Oliver noticed this and was flattered.
"I did?" he asked acting normal.
"I'm serious, don't you remember?"
Oliver thought about it for a moment, he somehow understood what the waitress was saying. It did make a bit of sense that he could speak a bit of French as well but, it's weird.
"I'm not sure..." said Oliver. "Bu-"
Oliver heightened gearing allowed him to hear a brawl outside, it sounded like a fight between one person on many.
Oliver looked outside the window.
"What's wrong?" Asked Alyss.
"Shh!" said Oliver putting his finger on her mouth, Alyss turned hot pink at this.
In an instant, a surge of yellow energy bursted and a few masked men crashed through the large window.
Oliver grabbed Alyss by the arm as he got up.
"LET'S GO!"
Oliver and Alyss ran outside. And they saw a masked person with a glowing aura around him standing over the masked villains.
Suddenly he looked towards Oliver and Alyss.
Oliver slowly backed away, ready to defend against an attack. Then the person looked away and waved his hand fiercely in the air and a thick rope of water came out of his wrist and attached to a large building, just at the moment of impact the water turned into ice so it stuck to the building.
The "Hero," thought Oliver, had swung away.
Alyss and Oliver dashed away from the area and toward the school.
Sami landed on his balcony and pulled off his mask whilst panting, "Oliver, actually got a date before me?"
(xD, sorry Sami I had to do it to you)
>>>>>>>>>>>Author's notes<<<<<<<<<<<
-So for one, (I've said this a thousand times but..) if you have any suggestions tell me!!
- Two, Yes, Sami just pulled off his mask. Your gonna have to infer what that means, even though pretty clear.

-I don't have much to say...
So I'll end it here.
-Have a great life, I don't know when you're gonna be reading this so I can't say 'Goodnight'
