[Waves, lvl 5.
Summons a 150-meter tall wave that decimates a radius of 250 meters, effectively turning the area into a small lake. Creates several small waves
Default Damage: Base damage of 1000*level +250*number of small waves hit, per second.
Instead of damaging, this spell will heal water-attuned organisms, such as Water Spirits, Obeaunes, Mermaids, Water Sprites, and Water elementals.
Cast time: 10 seconds.
Lasts 15 seconds.
Requires: Intelligence to be higher than 120 to be cast. Requirement increases by 10 every level up of the skill.
Note from System: Use this if you want to terraform, rofl
Note from System: Best used with other elemental spells]
I was a bit confused to see the last part of the spell. Does my system even have emotions, or is it just a logical-thinking thing?
Oh well, that sucks. Anyways, as tempting the spell sounds like, I think I'll use the 3rd-tier spell, [Torrential Bolt].
[Torrential Bolt, lvl 5.
A more advanced version of the Water Bolt, now with homing capabilities.
Damage: Intelligence*10
Number of bolts summoned: Intelligence/50
Cast time: 0.2 seconds. Cannot go any lower.]
Thank you for the homing feature, at least I don't have to manually focus on the bolts this time.
I immediately cased the skill.
Around me, 4 bolts were materials out of thin air, with each bolt having its own wave-like patterns appearing in the surface. Immediately, I launched them all.
I also casted Water Barrier, causing 10 thin water barriers to appear around me. With these barriers at hand, I could defend at most, 200,000 points worth of damage.
I casted the same spell for an additional 7 times. Why? Even with the homing effect, the vipers were quite agile and were able to "fly" from the bolts. At the same time, their bodies were quite flexible so they were able to evade the bolts quite easily at the start.
This got me thinking. Ok, these snakes can evade the spell twice in a row, even with 4 bolts chasing each one of them at the same time. What about if I increase it to 11 bolts chasing them at the same time in this limited space?
The results didn't disappoint me. Immediately, they were hit continuously by the Torrential Bolts, dealing 2000 damage per bolt.
In a few breaths, the two vipers were dead. It didn't end there, however, as the battle attracted the eyes of other beasts in the area.
Slowly, more and more beasts were present in the area, ranging from 0 star to 1.5 stars. Facing these horde of monsters, I was unafraid. I used this opportunity to use the 4th-tier skill [Waves].
As they were on their way to my location, I continued to cast the spell.
On the 8th second-mark, they were already within 50 meters of my position.
On the 9th second-mark, they were already 5 meters away from my location
On the 10th second-mark, they began to attack my water barriers.
On the 11th second-mark, they were drowned in an overwhelming amount of water from the sky, with overwhelming pressure and strength crushing them from different directions.
I was controlling the waves, making sure the waves weren't missing any of the beasts, and instantly killing the small fries.
From the start, my goal and purpose here was to finish the quest and earn points. Others may view me as a Samaritan, for helping them slay these beasts, but for me, I just do it for the points they provide me.
After 10 seconds of the skill, the waters calmed down and a small lake had formed. However, the lake was dyed red, dyed by the blood of the beasts that attempted to destroy its creator.
I nodded to myself for creating such a picturesque scene in the middle of a scalding desert, which was still very hot even if it was night.
This temperature wasn't normal. It didn't feel uncomfortable since I had my heat and desiccation resistance passively activated, but the continuous steam that appeared minutes after the massacre from the body of water suggests the temperature was already beyond normal.
I was worried about my safety. I'm not sure if the monster I was going to face would really be just a 2-star.
A few minutes of collecting corpses, some of which were partially cooked due to the temperature of the water, I immediately checked my current points. Upon seeing those 5-digit values, I was struck with happiness.
I decided to take a few minutes of rest, eating some of the meat that was partially cooked after re-cooking it using the [Fire bolt] spell, before heading towards the golden arrow marked in my system map. I could already see the pinned location in my system map, located 3 kilometers from my current location to the north-east.
I was ready to face any beasts that I met on the way, and with the system map, I was never caught by surprise. Killing these monsters allowed me to gain around 2000 skill and system points as I was travelling.
1 hour later, I arrived above the target area.
When I saw clearly the target even if I was 100 meters above the ground, I knew this was a big one.
I didn't dare come closer because what I saw shocked me.
It was a... frickin' dragon!
