There are two great days in a person's life. One is when he is born. Other is when he discovers why.
My discovery of why was a bit later but today was the day I was born.
I was born in the family of Balthazar, the royal family of Elysidia, one which over 500 year of constant decline had gotten so weak that the kingdom was known as the rotting kingdom of Elysidia.
It was was a medium sized territory in the continent of Vraizevux.
Vraizevux was one of the two greater continents, smaller of which by half was 'Mitriv' in the west of Vraizevux.
There was also a five more small continents which were:
Trollatia to the Northeast.
Sacred Kingdom of the Dark Elves to the East.
Continent of Southern Giants in the frigid south.
Continent of Myths to the south west.
And Kingdom of Elves to the North.
Kingdom of Elysidia had a considerable area in the North of Vraizevux, so it was closest to the Kingdom of Elves.
Elysidia was bordered by Maqusite Kingdom of the Maqusite Dynasty.
To the southeast was Kruzar Empire.
Maqusite dynasty had ill relations with Kruzar Empire and vice versa, so much so that hate propaganda were spread and the blood of young people boiled whenever they hear of the other's name.
To the south of 'the enemies' was the 'Rulyra Dragon Kingdom', it was a neutral country which was very small in size.
I remember my mother as beautiful, loving and caring. She was a not educated but had airs of royalty.
Her name was Eve Fear.
She was a commoner and the king had seen her during an outing back when he was a prince.
He had married her later and she had birthed me in the third day of fifth month of the 576th year.
I really loved my mom. As for my dad I didn't see him much, but he probably didn't know that I existed due to his fifteen marriages and one or two children from each.
His name was 'Nycolas Giroud von Balthazar', he was publicly known as 'Nycolas the Gullible'.
In simple words, he was an utter fool. He believed the corrupt nobles and removed some honest hardworking and talented officers and gave their positions to the noble's incompetent relatives.
The nobles then worked to increase the taxes and lived of off bribes.
At one time when I was five years old, a seer came and praised him, telling him that he would be known as the greatest king of Balthazar dynasty and win countless wars.
He was easily flattered and easily gave a piece of agricultural land to him.
I hear he is now a rich farmer with many beautiful wives and children.
Whenever he shows up to a gathering, he always boasts how 'outwit' the king. I disagree because there was never any brains to my father to begin with.
Because of my father, Elysidia had lost one-fourth of it's territory.
The power was also decentralized to the corrupt nobles.
The economy of the country was in dire straits while the king and the nobles enjoyed the luxuries unseen in the continent of Vraizevux.
The only strong point was the army. But that was also declining sharply with the weak economy.
That is to say this was the piece of sh... ehm... pie I had my eyes on.
