It's one thing to be born in the slums, where your birthright is to be on the receiving end of stigmatization by the people who consider themselves to be of a higher social standard.
However, it's an entirely different story once you manage to become an outlier in the domain of misfits. The fight for survival is a far more gruelling task when you're the target of people who've been subjected to severe groundless discrimination for generations.
Everyone knew that they had to play their role in the society, whether they liked it or not, in order to survive. But, there have and always will be people who deviate from the norm to rebel against the injustice thrust upon them.
In my youth, I was fortunate to encounter such a free spirit who challenged anyone daring to argue, that anything could be accepted if they were willing to give it a chance.
