"When she first transferred to our school, I've seen her speaking alone in the comfort room. It was really empty. I thought she was talking to someone on phone but her hands were both on her sides. I was frightened of course. But I eventually shrugged it off and just thought that perhaps she has an imaginary friend since we were still kids back then. But as we grow up, I'd sometimes caught her glancing to a side and secretly grin. She would sometimes suddenly mumble words; go to places with no people. And this time… it was really terrifying."
Shiela started sobbing as she talks to Mizuki's aunt and uncle, Sydny and Mark. The latter decided to conduct interviews with Mizuki's friends and acquaintances and found out that this was not Mizuki's first time to speak and smile alone. Mizuki was Shiela's best friend. They were really close. She did not sell her out. There was no doubt about that. She just really wanted to help Mizuki, to make her sane again, but her statement unintentionally exacerbated the situation.
"Thank you, Shiela."
Sydny smiled but it did not reach her eyes. She was grateful to Shiela but at the same time wished she never heard her confession. Her sweet nephew was crazy?
"We'll take our leave now. We're sorry for disturbing you," Sydny and Mark stood up and bid goodbye to Shiela.
"You're not a bother at all, Aunt."
After Sydny and Mark left Shiela's house, they went home and overheard Alexa and Daniela talking
loudly from the living room.
"See, I've told you countless times before! That damn cousin of mine was mad! All the things that I've destroyed suddenly got fixed even of how impossible it should be. She's wicked. Mad."
Angel accused. Sydny walked fast and abruptly grabbed Angel's arm.
"How could you say that to your cousin? Your own blood-related?"
"Mom it's true! I just wished you could trust my words just for this time!" Angel shrugged Sydny's hand on her arm. It was painful. She's in pain physically and emotionally.
"Despite being devoured by madness, you still stick to her side? Mom, I am your daughter! Real
daughter! Flesh and blood! But why do you always have to side with her? Why am I always wrong?" Angel cried. Her friends stood to her side to calm her.
"Because she doesn't have anyone. But you.. you have me and your dad. You have your friend—"
"Mom I am lonely! I neither have you nor dad! I can't feel your affection for me at all. You focused too much on Mizuki and neglected me. The sane one," She sneered.
"Angel!" Mark who was silent all this time shouted at Angel.
"I'm done with you all."
Angel took her bag and left. Her friends hurriedly followed her. Sydny sat down and held her temple throbbing with pain.
"Should we… bring her to a psychiatric hospital?" Sydny uttered in low voice. Mark didn't answer her and instead rubbed her back to comfort her.
Little did they know, Jiro heard their conversation. He raised his hand and vanished into the air. Mizuki, his love, should he leave for her sake? Does the past really need to be repeated? Does he have to experience the same pain and heartaches of leaving his loved one?
He was wondering if Mizuki was regretting it now— that she danced with him. Did he destroy her
reputation? Her life? Is he a curse? Does he not deserve to be happy? If he was a human, would they become together?
Jiro's brain was in chaos, he was in the midst of a war of confusion. It was a complete mess.
He smiled bitterly. He made sure that the divine protection he granted Mizuki was strong. Once again, he'll bid his goodbye to the one he loves. How cruel does this world can be? If it's for Mizuki's reputation, if she could live normally again after he left perhaps his decision wouldn't be in vain.
He teleported to a thick branch which gives him a view of Mizuki's bedroom. She was locked in her
room. Like Rapunzel being banned from stepping outside, from seeing the world. Jiro shed tears as he raised his hand in the air and formed a hand seal to completely disappear and vanish forever.
'I can't stay by your side forever. I'm sorry. Mizuki, goodbye. I love you.'
