In the dorm room that our team shared, two sofas, a small coffee table and an old flat screen TV were the only real furniture that we shared. Dinner was eaten in a large hall with some of the other teams, so a kitchen wasn't necessary. There was four bed rooms and a toilet, everything was either in dark grays, blues, greens or black. It all had a depressing, sullen feeling to it.
This was home. And I liked it.
Or at least I did, before getting five new roommates. My new team. Well, more precisely, the team of useless demon hunters that I needed to protect, because of their ever so important parents.
I barged into the room while contemplating on how to deal with the two-faced bitch, who was currently dogging my heels, with an expression of admiration and worship.
'Ugh, I think I actually prefer her previous attitude!' I felt disgusted by the sudden mood shift, and if not for the fact that my very soul was dependent on me keeping her and her teammates alive, I wouldn't have bothered tolerating it. However, getting along with her made my job easier, so I decided to endure.
'Goddamned contract! That's the last time I willingly sign a contract!'
Everyone in the room had turned their heads towards me, the three boys, Charles, Roger and Craig were playing cards. Mean while Elise was... I furrowed my brows before deciding to ignore what ever it was she doing.
"Alright everybody, important announcements!" I declared loudly, "you've all been demoted because you're a bunch of morons, I'm not really a silver-rank called Charlie and finally we got a new mission! Excited? Yeah? Well that's amazing! Now I'm going to bed, so good night! Any questions one may have, shall directed towards our praise worthy leader." And with that, I stormed of to my private room, leaving a bunch of confused faces behind me.
After closing my door, I immediately slid of my heavy coat, ended up having a tug of war battle with my boots, before finally slipping out of my skin tight leather trousers and crawling into bed, deciding to keep on my dark green tank top. 'Finally... oh dear sleep, how I've missed you~'
*
Everyone looked at me with stupefied expressions. Even Charles seemed somewhat shocked! And that was something that rarely happened.
"What's wrong with Charlie?" Asked Elise innocently, while not so innocently hiding a way the yaoi manga she had been reading.
"Well... everything she just said is pretty much true, so... yeah. Questions?" I said nervously, staring grumpily at the door which Luka had disappeared behind. 'I apologized, didn't I? I even acknowledged that I was in the wrong! It's not my fault that I didn't realize that you were an important person!'
"So... we're all a bunch of morons?" Asked Charles.
"What? Oh, no! Not that part. Sorry, what I mean is that we have indeed been demoted, and "Charlie" is in actual fact Luka." I quickly saved my blunder before explaining, "and no. The name isn't just a coincidence."
Everyone was silent for a while as it all sank in. Then, all hell broke loose...
'No wonder she disappeared so quickly...' I thought exasperatedly.

When I finally woke up, my digital clock told me that I had slept for a good twelve hours.
'Huh, I really was knackered.'
I quickly redressed and went back to the the common room. I froze almost immediately after entering. Everyone sat there staring at me, 'oh yeah, almost forgot...' I slowly turned around to look at Emilie. I was met with a glare of pure loathing. 'Suppose I shouldn't expect any different, I did sort of just dump her in a mess. But hell! She bloody deserved it!'
"So, now that everything, I assume, has been worked out, how about we get down to planning how to kill this demon?" I decided to ignore the multiple glares that I was receiving, "it's only a lesser demon, so even if it's you guys, it shouldn't be to hard to handle-"
I was quickly cut short, as a high pitched scream rang through the room and a random object suddenly came flying at me.
'What the..' I quickly ducked, and grimaced as I heard the vase shatter behind, '...HELL!'
I coldly glared at Elise, "if you're quite done with that childish behavior, then should we perhaps get to work? Demons tend not to kill them selves after all."
"Me childish?! Your the one acting the fool, and this whole time you were some sort of legendary devil-ranked demon hunter! And then instead of standing up to us all yourself, you dump it all on Emilie!" Elise had crossed her arms, and current expression was like that of someone facing their archenemy.
'Sheesh, is it really such a big deal? I just wanted to sleep!' I kept a cold face as I answered, "you really are quite cold blooded, aren't you? And very self-centered."
"Huh?" She gave me a confused look.
"To think you would care more about a couple of mean actions, than the lives of innocent people..." I continued to berate her, "would rather tell me off, than plan how to get rid of the demon currently out there, killing helpless civilians, who probably don't even realize what's happening. Dying alone and confused."
I made sure to paint a miserable scene for her, guilt tripping this kind of person was always effective. Of course I didn't actually care about the "innocent and helpless civilians", all they ever did was get in the way.
"I... I didn't... mean it like that," she mumbled, "I just... I-"
"So then let's get to work!" I decided to cut her off there, instead of giving her an opportunity to retaliate.
"This time we're going to use a proper plan..." and so began the hunt.
