In order to fully acquire the resources, Brave needed to just stay in the base for a few moments without the emperor of the other base. He immediately gained 300 energy and 10 gems, while his opponent found a person to sell his information to.
Brave had no choice but to return immediately after, taking a few servants he found hiding in various rooms. Once a sect was abandoned by an emperor, often times they couldn't take all of their staff with them.
Hence, not only did Brave get resources, but high quality servants for his sect hall! After making sure that the emperor hadn't placed any poisonous traps on them, or used any sort of detestable tricks, he head back towards his base.
As he traveled, his energy meter kept slowly rising, almost as if two cultivators had been gathering energy for him. Ono Takuya truly had middle grade fire spiritual roots!
However, even though he was lucky, the odds were that his other eight remaining opponents had even better luck. There was a saying that luck favored those who were more experienced, and this was only his first game!
The fact that he had already captured another sect, and gotten lucky in the first raid was simply a testament to the advantage from creating the code. However, during the middle game and end game, the code was easier and easier to understand.
He immediately had to send his two other cultivators back into the spiritual stone formation before he ordered two miners to build another sect recruitment stall on the opposite side of the base.
He had a feeling his opponent had recognized something during his raid, and that is why he had left his base rather then surrendering to him directly. Since the gameplay could take sometimes months and years, it wasn't uncommon for people to surrender and become part of another sect.
Of course, this also provided a different type of gameplay, and allowed captured emperor's to take on the roles of 'heroes'. He could only hope his opponent didn't find someone to ally with using the information he had acquired.
Sitting down in his sect, nighttime finally came. As for his miners, they had to stop working and all wandered inside to eat. Tokugawa, seeing Brave, immediately dropped his head and sat down at the table.
Lively looked at him with pity as Brave contemplated poisoning his food. Unfortunately, today he had only gotten 4 new miners, and 1 cultivator. With the fourteen miners he had, he was sure he couldn't kill him yet!
"So, bastard, do you like the food you are eating?" Brave ate at a table with Lively as Tokugawa dropped his spoon.
"Great Master, can I ask you why you don't like him?" Lively said sitting next to him, "With his eminence's ranking, what could a foolish mortal have done to you?"
"Do you really want to know?" Brave replied pointing a knife towards Tokugawa, "He caused me to be reborn into this new beautiful world, and control his every move."
"So, great one, doesn't that mean you should be grateful to him?" Lively felt that being reincarnated in another world, being given a chance to be emperor would be great.
However, then she realized in order to reincarnate, you had to be murdered. Her face suddenly swelled up with anger as Tokugawa dropped his spoon and rushed off to his room.
"You… you mean he killed the emperor… what… what insolence!" Lively smashed her fist into the table causing Brave to laugh.
"Yes, but he is also under my control as long as live… I'm merely keeping the bastard alive so that he can suffer as much as I did."
"You are truly a magnanimous figure dear Emperor." Lively finished up her food and got up, walking over towards the new servants and helping them clean up.
Brave nodded his head, however, a huge flurry burned his very soul. If he didn't quell his anger soon, he was afraid he might truly suffer a cultivation demon. Even as an emperor, a cultivation demon would be extremely pernicious!
Cultivation demons were things that would set you back on the road to becoming a higher level in Immortal Kingdom. These were resentments, grudges, and other emotions that would stop you from focusing.
Due to the complex nature of human kinesthetics, when he programmed the game it would be able to detect these emotions through your key strokes.
Brave calmed himself down, and went upstairs before he began to write down the code for the game on his wall. In a few hours, using the code, he figured out his next plan of action.
The sun rose early in the morning, and Brave immediately sent his cultivators to gather energy. As for his miners, now that they had gathered 5000 gems, he could finally build an array to protect his base.
Arrays, to the other players, were probably one of the most wasteful things a person could build, however, Brave knew that he would be outmatched in his micromanagement of troops.
In just a few moments, a large light flickered around the front of the base, costing him 2000 gems to build, and costing him 10 energy an hour to maintain. In fact, if other people saw this, they'd probably murder him for wasting so many gems. However, he also had acquired a second base!
He erected the array to the delight of the villagers at the sect recruitment stall! This meant that this sects reputation would increase! Reputation was extremely important to villagers, and it was also why Brave was willing to spend the cost.
He knew that in the code that certain rich individuals would only show up if you had a defensive array. This was something someone who hadn't created the code could know!
Throughout the second day, he gathered 3 new cultivators, and 20 new miners! Because of this, he finally was on pace with an A class performer!
Depending on how well you were progressing compared to the best case performance, you'd get a letter grade by the system. Of course, since the people he was versing had been around for thousands of years, they most likely all had S+ or SS!
Unfortunately, as Brave felt good about his current moves, a message he detested popped up on his window.
"You have been declared war on by the Maple Green Sect, and the Inferno Sect Alliance."
"A message has been sent to you from the Maple Green Sect."
"I can't believe a lucky bastard like you somehow managed to make it into the game. Body cultivators, are you kidding me?"
"You'll find out the true terror of body cultivators. Surrender now, and I won't cause you any embarrassment." Brave replied, somewhat sarcastically.
"You must think you have reached the heavens, but you are merely a frog in the well."
"You'll see that even a frog can swallow a dragon." Brave shut off his chat, and immediately got back to work. Sweat dripped down his face as he immediately began to order his cultivators around preparing for the attack.
He immediately built a spell manual facility that cost him 1000 gems, and 50 energy. Since his opponent told him he was going to attack, he might as well say thank you by slaughtering his men.
In a few moments, the spell manual facility was erected, and he now was able to learn the second level of the angel light body cultivation technique. After putting 400 energy into other various skills, he immediately sent five of his cultivators towards the village with a few miners.
They were welcomed into the town with open arms as what appeared to be an army of cultivators descended upon their position. The Maple Green Sect hadn't held back on building Sect recruitment stalls, and over 25 cultivators were assembled.
Even worse, the West inferno Sect's leader, Nishida Shou, was at the forefront of the charge. Since he was an emperor, he was automatically gifted with high class spiritual roots!
They arrived outside of the array, and laughed as Brave ten cultivators got into position.
"Hah, you were right! He really is a new player!"
