Chapter 19 - Not This Time Though

"Hand them over?" Jin could not help but voice out his surprise.

"Yeah… Did you not hear me clearly? Hand them over." Lang repeated himself.

'Is this man stupid or something? Handing over a class? Is that even possible?' Jin could not help but wonder what the opposing party was thinking. As far as he knows, it was really not possible to simply hand over something like a class or a title. He may not be a legitimate player, but at the very least, he knows how the game system works?

'Is that man deaf or something? Didn't I speak loud enough?' Thought Lang. Surely, this man did not literally take his words... or did he? Of course, what Lang meant to hand over the class was that Jin would die repeatedly until he dropped the things that Lang wanted. "Handing them over" would mean that Lang wanted Jin to come and die in his hands.

None of them understood each other for a few awkward seconds, only until Jin cut off the silence when he suddenly ran away from Lang's party did the latter regained attention. "What the… get him!" Lang hurriedly commanded. Suddenly running in the middle of such "peaceful" negotiation? This idiotic player is seeking death!

Having a decent head start, Jin easily outstripped even the most agile members of the intruding group. After all, he was fast himself. Although Lang was quite strong compared to Jin, he was simply not fast enough for a quick chase. Jin ran as fast as he could so that he could reach the place where Meldor was and finally get rid of these nasty intruders.

*Shlick!*

A blade's sound moving rapidly through the air abruptly resounded. A sharp kunai-like weapon suddenly spiraled towards Jin, moving in an unstoppable pace as if it ripped through the void itself to move without losing any momentum. The members of the Dark Mane Guild moved out of the way for the blade to pass. This was obviously one of Lang's skill; an attack that isn't affected the least bit by the game physics. Being a Void Walker, Lang has a racial ability to command the void to his will.

Even with that racial ability, however, his speed in itself was not enough to catch up with Jin. Instead of speeding up, Lang intended to injure the conniving player to slow him down. The blade moved at a blinding speed, creating a deafening sonic boom whenever it disappears and reappears from the void.

Jin quickly thought of a way to deal with the upcoming attack, but the blade was simply too fast for him to avoid while still keeping his distance. Jin took the attack head-on without further thinking, injuring his back while he was running. Although the attack was fast and it damaged him, it wasn't too strong. Jin gladly tanked the kunai-like blades that were coming his way with his brand-new equipment and his hefty health pool.

The chase continued as the Dark Mane guild members including Lang could barely keep up with Jin. Even with the assassins present in the group, they were still no match against the mysterious agile player in front of them. "Obviously, this idiot invested a lot in his AGI, he couldn't take more of my blades than he already did..." Lang thought as he threw more blades toward Jin. With a very large mana pool, Lang was almost always able to cast his spells without worrying too much about running out of MP.

With the Dark Mane members slowing down due to exhaustion, they intended to follow suit on what Lang was doing and attack Jin instead. With all of them assaulting a single target together, it wouldn't be a fluke to land at least one of their attacks.

Although not all of them were range players, they still tried to put together some tactics that they kept for them to be able to do something to deter Jin's speed. Some tried using one-time spells, some with item-imbued spells, and others with their racial abilities — each of the eighteen contributed to shutting down the brazen player who dare taunted their leader.

...

HP: 5,980 (Regenerating)

MP: 5

Fatigue: 75

Jin was also reaching his limit, and he simply couldn't take the barrage of attacks coming his way forever. Fortunately, he wasn't that far to where Meldor was. In a distance, a pitch-black gate stood tall, towering over the walls of the Priyan Kingdom—

'Finally!' both Lang and Jin exclaimed in their hearts.

For Lang, chasing the pesky player had been quite annoying, and it really wasn't what he came for in the first place; it was just by plain coincidence that they came across him. What really mattered was the area boss, which presumably is a legendary monster, for Lang to label the expedition as a success.

For Jin, however— the dark gate signified the accomplishment of Meldor and the Freya race. It was miraculous enough for them to be able to create something so elegant in a span of an hour. Jin knew for the fact that the intruders came for the area boss, and by having Meldor set up an ambush within the gates, it would be the last place for the intruders to think of meeting a surprise attack…

A strong thousand creatures should be enough to defeat a group of brazen intruders…

With the last few numbers of his fatigue meter ticking down, Jin sprinted towards the gate.

Lang and his group followed suit immediately. Apparently, the pesky player had the same thought in his head. 'Tsk, even with such a low level, this idiot dares to covet the loot in this place? How brazen! No wonder he's got a unique title and class. He might also have a title of "A Brave Idiot," frickin' fits him well.' Lang thought in his head, the mysterious LV 20 player was incredibly audacious!

The pitch-black gate creaked open, flaunting what seems to be an empty city inside.

Jin immediately went inside, following closely behind him were Lang and his group.

Jin finally stopped running; vigorously gasping for air, his fatigue meter slowly regenerated. On the other hand, Lang quickly saved as soon as he entered what seemed to be the main area. With a towering gate and an impressive castle on the horizon, this place should be Priyan Kingdom's capital. If he was to rely on his last save, he would have to repeatedly use his "trick" to break the area once more, and he wouldn't risk doing it very often.

Logically, he had to save as quickly as possible before meeting anything too dangerous.

After all, limited spawns made even the most arrogant players like Lang move carefully when it comes to losing an in-game life.

Saving before entering a dungeon or fighting against a boss had always been the norm in any RPG games. It had been the most sensible move, as if he ever failed to succeed, one would avoid losing too much progress. Game bosses are programmed to fight, at most, in a specific area they are assigned, even in virtual reality games. Lang confidently assumed that the boss of the Priyan Kingdom would be limited to fighting inside his castle, and as such he saved boldly, not knowing that the enemy boss had always been in front of him.

"...Saving before encountering a boss is really a wise thing to do. Not this time though."

Jin had a devilish grin on his face, as his rustic skin became apparent and his long hair fluttered with the sudden oppressive wind, flaunting his crown-like demon horns.

The pitch-black gates abruptly shut tight, followed by the ground suddenly shaking.

Gigantic figures suddenly appeared from hiding; crawling out of shadows of abandoned houses. Lang and the rest of the Dark Mane guild members were dumbstruck by the suddenness of the situation.
