"Welcome to week two of the orientation month! You've just started your way into the new high school life!", the unpleasant high pitched teacher announced in the classroom.
"Hehe, I've already secured one!", Sun thought while Rea was explaining the procedure of week two.
He took his metal token and observed the shiny surface. He noticed a very strange pattern on it but decided not to care much about it.
"I'm a Demon Hunter now. Hm, maybe I should go and ask for a mission or something. I grasp the concept and theory of fights and martial arts, but I currently lack real battle experience.", Sun thought and spun his pen with his fingers.
Evan looked to him in astonishment, with fire in his eyes.
"Dude~! Ey- how are you doing this *brrr* thing?", his patience broke down and Evan asked Sun.
"Hm? Oh, you mean this?", Sun made another little stunt with his pen.
"Yes -woo- amazing. Can you teach me that?"
"Hmm, sure. But you need good muscle memory and training."
"Don't worry. I know my boundaries -hahaha!"
"I doubt that.", Sun smiled wryly.
...
"... and here, you need to do -"
"Hey, are you two listening to my lecture?", Rea already knew that their mind already swayed away from the lesson, but now, it just hit her limit of patience. She just gritted her teeth and tried to speak with a bit of irony in her tone.
"Sun, then, let's see. How will you try to get your placement?"
"Hmm. You know Rea, I already got one from last week, when I visited the city. My part-time job is already authorized by our principal and I already sent the documents to my employer.", he answered in a shameless tone.
"Huh? Is that so? Well, then. Just don't disturb the others while it's still lesson time.", she just gave him a simple warning and turned to the direction of the blackboard.
Then she smiled and thought: "Not bad, Sun Reed. Nothing less expected of you, you are truly an outstanding student. Already a step ahead of the others. I wonder how you will do in the future..."
Meanwhile, Sun sat down and thought why Evan did not get punished since he was, after all, the one who asked him to teach the pen spin.
...
In the afternoon, after some theoretical magic lessons and homeroom, they're finally free for the week, as long as they get a placement.
Everyone already rushed to the portal after some thought of what they might want to do with their placement, Sun was alone in the house.
Since there was nothing else productive to do, he decided to try a breakthrough to Beginner 3.
He set down on his bed and put himself into a trance state.
"Turn and create the environment...", a mechanical voice sounded.
"Cultivation World Status: active.", the strange voice sounded inside his head.
Sun felt flying from the sky, his environment blurred. After some seconds, his vision stabilized and he was able to land softly with his Lucifer Form.
The landing with the black wings looked like a Demon coming from hell.
His landing made some mid-level normal monsters notice his presence. They stopped doing their usual routine and dashed in a group of three to Sun.
"Perfect. I was waiting for this."
"Lucifer Form - Arcas - activate!"
The eyes of Sun turned blue, his hair grew a bit longer, but his main body stayed in the Lucifer form.
Now, with the vision and calculation skills, the monster's movements went like slow motion.
Sun gracefully dodged the claws of the first monster and quickly broke its neck.
"Mid-level normal monster: Saber Ligh killed
Two kills remaining for a breakthrough.", his female navigator of the cultivation world announced.
"Great.", Sun said to himself and smiled with confidence.
...
"Breakthrough. Congratulations Cultivator!
You have reached Beginner 3."
As soon as this was announced, Sun backed down from cultivation and already felt a little change in his body.
His power level felt stronger and his immunity got much better. Some chains have been broken.
Satisfied with the results, he lied down and closed his eyes for a quick break.
But he soon remembered the words the elderly lady said the other lady about his element.
"It's Goddess Tear! Remember that!"
"That is something I can't tell you. You need to find it out yourself."
"That doesn't help me! What do I need to do? Maybe I should head for the library and search up this term.", Sun was in deep thought and then decided to head for the school library after all.
On the way there, he checked his student ID.
"Sun Reed
First-year
Beginner 3"
Seeing the 'Beginner 3', he was satisfied and put it back.
...
The library building is next to the Central Building, so it's easy to find. Sun is only a first-year student - a freshman on the top, so there was not as much liberty as the second or third-year students.
He first looked up the basic and access level 1 sector, but there was nothing about Goddess Tear.
After looking at all the elements related to books, he was about to give up.
Suddenly, he got an idea:
"Yo, Lucifer?", he asked in a sweet tone.
"Huh, is there something you need?", Lucifer sounded a bit annoyed since Sun had not spoken to his in the past few days.
"I need access to the Demon's Library !"
"Okay. Just don't get lost."
"Huh, you can get lost there?"
"Oh, actually. Never mind that. I'm connected to you, so don't worry!"
Lucifer opened the portal in Sun's mind and his spiritual body entered the Demon's Library.
Inside there, one could lose their orientation since there was on ground or ceiling. It's a place defined by countless shelves of books.
There, he activated Arcas Form and tried to imagine a book with Goddess Tear as the front cover.
Nothing happened.
"Ah, maybe she scammed me!", Sun thought but realized soon that the lady did not take money.
"Was she fooling around with me?"
*Swoosh*
A book flew to Sun's direction and hit his head because Sun did not pay any attention to his surroundings.
A little bruise formed on his forehead, but the pain disappeared after he read the title: "Tales of the Goddess Tear Holder"
