Chapter 44 - A World after the Death of the World Part 1

"My lady, the sun is up, he won," A servant said nearing Tea, "Why are you crying, my lady?"

"He is dead, dead."

"He died to protect us."

"I know, but still."

"Why are you sad about it?"

"I miss him, and he said he would come back, and now," She sniffled, "He is dead."

"He is, my lady, but you know why he died, he announced it."

Vidian appeared in the middle of a large room, with towering beings sitting around him. He looked around, lost, before a familiar voice spoke,"Welcome Vidian, to the Palace of Time, these are the supreme gods."

"Oh, um, this is a lot," He said kneeling down, "I didn't realize."

"Do not kneel, Vidian," Lord Eternum said, walking in front of him, "I have a promise to keep, stand," Vidian did as he said and stood, "You have something I need, your amulet," Vidian felt his chest and found the amulet and pulled it off very simply and handed it to Lord Eternum, "Draktha, here is your role," The amulet appeared in his hand and he wrapped his long forked tongue around it before swallowing it, "Absolute good and evil, as I wanted."

"Lord Eternum, I do not want to be a god."

"You want to remain a mortal?"

"No, but I want to be a god on earth, not a supreme one."

"I can't make you a god on earth, you are not below us."

"Then make me a supreme being, I can be a god on earth, but I will have your level, I don't want to stop living in that world, I finally began to like it."

"I believe that he is a kind creature," Lady Naturania spoke, "He should be listened to, I don't believe he would be a cruel god."

"He might have been cruel but that was the work, he is not like me," Lord Draktha spoke.

"I agree with my brother," Lady Celenstia added.

"Then so be it, he shall have it, I think that I can trust him too, as he is, Eternum's Trusted."

"Thank you, Lord Eternum, I have one thing to ask."

"Ask away."

"What god would I be, you never told me."

"The god of hope, Lord Vidian."

"Thank you, Lord Eternum," He said as blue sheath formed on his back and a leather strap wrapped around his chest, "I will return to earth, thank you," A white blade appeared in the sheath and he blinked and was standing in the battle-wounded land of the Great Desert. He looked around and smiled, "I am back, Eternal Domain, time to visit some old friends."

He walked the streets of Luminosada, wearing blue steel shoulder plates that held a blue and white cape. He wore gold metal boots and a golden set of armor, his body had been completely changed, no horns or wings and no deformations on his face. He interrupted a merchant, "Do you know a certain Julia, Julia Dawn?"

"Yes sir, she is getting married today, did you not know?"

"I am not from here, where is the marriage?"

"Third street on the right second on the left, then straight, you should see it."

"Thank you very much sir."

"Apparently, Lady Structania is there."

"The goddess?"

"Yes, apparently, she said she was expecting someone important," He bowed his head in thanks and began walking.

He soon arrived at the ceremony and stood near the back as the priest finished speaking and Julia kissed as very familiar Darkkin, Goli, he smiled and met eyes with Julia as the people cheered, she smiled and pointed him out to Goli and then he walked forwards as Goli began talking to the guests and Julia moved through the crowd and arrived to Vidian, "Vidian, its been a while."

"It has, I didn't remember you two being in love."

"We weren't," Goli joined them, "But you changed my mind, the message you gave before the sun and moon stayed in the sky."

"Wait, but doesn't that mean you should be dead?"

"I died, but I am no longer a human or a mortal man," Lady Structania bowed as she saw him, "Hello, Structania."

"Hello, Lord Vidian, I expected you to come here."

"Aren't you, wait, what?" Goli looked lost, and Vidian chuckled.

"I am a god now."

"You are kidding."

"Eternum gave me this role, I am a god, the god of hope."

"Sorry, I didn't know, Lord Vidian."

"Please, don't, you know me," Lady Structania bowed and left as Julia's parents approached them, "Hello David, hello Heather."

"Vidian, long time no see, how are you doing?"

"Dad, it's Lord Vidian," He began laughing before looking at Vidian, "He is a god now."

"You are a what now?"

"A god, Eternum made me into a god, I died fighting the Death of the World."

"Oh, but now you look impressive," Heather commented, "The armor, and all."

"Thank you, I enjoyed your kindness, but right now, I will be visiting another friend, my altar will be in an obvious location, ask your gods if you need to find me," He said turning and leaving the marriage.

"Thank you, Lord Vidian!" Goli called, "For everything!"

"Don't thank me."

His wave let him step on the beach and walk towards the overland palace, "Maybe I can spice things up a bit," He leaped into the air and then fell diving into the water and plummeting to the ground and kicking up a massive cloud of sand. He then began swimming towards the city as Seakin guards gather near the side of the city he was near, "Seakin people, I am no threat," his voice carried through the water, "I am here to talk to your leader, I am Lord Vidian."

"Lord Vidian? Why lord?"

"I am now a god."

"You are a what?"

"I am the god of hope, Lord Vidian, but I did want to see your daughter, Lady Tea."

"Bring him to my daughter."

He opened the door and saw Tea sitting at her table, her eyes red with tears, "Why are you crying?" She didn't instantly recognize his voice.

"I told you yesterday, stop pestering me with that, he is dead, I don't want to talk to you, let me morn."

"Tea, look at me," She looked at him and her eyes grew, "I am back."

"Vidian?" She got up and threw herself into his arms, "I missed you so much, I love you, I love you, I love you, please, don't ever leave me again."

"I won't, don't worry," He held her as she cried of happiness, "You look amazing today."

"I was crying, I look terrible."

"I came back."

"You did," She looked up at him, "I want to marry you."

"I don't think I can do that."

"Why not? Do you not love me anymore?"

"I do, but I am a god, Tea, that is the problem."

"You are a god?" She moved away from him, "Are you serious?"

"I am the god of hope, Eternum gave me that role, but if I marry you, I will see you die, and I can't even know if Eternum would allow that for me."

"Can you ask him? I don't want to wait any longer."

"Tea, I also have to tell you something."

"Yes?"

"I haven't only loved you."

"I don't care, if you love me like those other women, I don't care, I just want to be with you, maybe you can make me your sub-god?"

"My what?"

"Lesser god, like Lord Oceanus you know, a sub-god."

"Oh, geez, I have to ask Eternum, can I leave you for a moment?"

"Where are you going?"

"To ask Eternum."

He appeared in the room once more, surprising Tea who squealed slightly, "There is a certain condition to it, since you are mortal and I am immortal, there will need to be something that will need to happen."

"I want to marry you, Vidian, I want to be with you forever."

"I will marry you, but I will need to kill you afterwards."

"Huh? What? Why?"

"To replace your mortal body with an immortal one, to make you my sub-god."

"Oh, is it that simple?"

"I will make your death painless."

"You better."

"Are you sure about that?" He said as he father entered the room and she laid a kiss on his lips. He heard her father gasp and then stumble back.

"Oh, father, um, I didn't see you there."

"Is this why you refused to marry? You were in love with Lord Vidian? This whole time?"

"She loved me while I was here, Wavanti, I am sorry for it to surprise you, but I want to marry her."

"But you are a god, and she is only my daughter."

"I know, Wavanti, she wanted to marry me for a while as well, and she holds the choice, unless you do."

"She does, but what about the immortal mortal thing?"

"She decided to become my sub-god, and, I, accepted that, I am a new god, and having sub-gods will be very useful."

"So my daughter will marry a supreme god and then become a goddess, oh my," He turned to a servant, "Prepare the royal marriage, my daughter is getting married, and call my wife, please," He was holding himself on the door frame, "This is a little overwhelming."

"I understand, father, but I love him."

"Trust me, I will not judge you, not at all, but where is your altar, Lord Vidian?"

"I do not know for the moment, but you can ask your gods soon, once I have settled down, but you will be able to see your daughter."

"Thank you, Lord Vidian," He finished his sentence and Tea's elegant mother walked into the room, "My dear, our daughter is getting married."

"To whom?"

"Lord Vidian."

"Lord? Vidian?" She looked at Wavanti then at Tea, then at Vidian, "Lord Vidian? Why lord? I don't understand."

"He is a god, mother, I am will be his sub-god."

"Excuse me, I don't seem to have completely understood you."

"After I died, Eternum gave me the option to become a supreme god, I refuse, and became a god on earth to be able to interact with the beings of this realm, I would never give that away, and your daughter, happens to be where my heart had laid, and I wanted to come back and see her."

"Oh, well, I don't see what is wrong with that, do I? No, I don't I will accept the things that make her happy," Her mother forced a smile despite her confusion, "I see that she has regained her ability to smile, she hadn't smiled in a while."

"I understand her, my lady."

"Please, don't say my lady, I am Jewlitani, please."

"Then Jewlitani, I understand her."

"When are they getting married? How are we going to announce such an event?" She turned to Wavanti, "I don't know how people will react to it."

"Aquariusinarium will probably want to be there, as did Structania wanted to see me when I visited an old friend in Luminosada, they know exactly who I am and what I am."

"Well then, um, I don't know what to say else."

"Nor do I."

"Then don't say anything, you have done what you needed and wanted, your daughter will chose now."

"Well, we will leave you two, thank you, Lord Vidian."

He arrive with Tea next to him at the foot of a large temple, sitting alone in the sand of the Great Desert. Tea whipped her forehead with a wet cloth, "Here? Really? I can't live here, I am a Seakin."

"I thought of that already," He said as an oasis formed as they walked up the steps, "I count of having a town grow here, the Great Desert is no longer a prison, now life can flourish off of the death of a beast that tormented life."

"Are you going to speak like that all the time?"

"No, but I will have to sometimes," The doors opened and he let Tea into the temple, "This will change but this is the base of our new home, do you like it?"

"I do, but what sub-god would I be?"

"I have to find something for you, connected to hope of course."

"I guess that, silly."

"I don't except you to call me Lord Vidian either, that would be awkward."

"Didn't you have other women to go get?"

"You say that as if they are things you buy at a store."

"Not what I meant, but they won't wait forever, you know."

"You would've."

"I know, but I am not every woman."

"Then I will go get them, I should be back in a day or two, love you."

"I will see you in a day then, um, and food and things like that?"

"There," A shelf of food and other things appeared, "When you are a god, you will no longer need it."

"Oh, isn't that handy?" He vanished with an air kiss, "Time to wait to see what type of women he likes, me and what else?"
