Chapter 455 - Pupil

In the days following Pangea's creation, quite a bit happened both on the planet and within Asora.

Firstly was Goku taking off with his father and brother to go train, all three of which wanted to take advantage of Pangea's brutal environment to become as powerful as possible. Much to Chichi's dismay as she confirmed that she was in fact pregnant.

Then, the day after Goku disappeared with his father and brother, Yamcha, Tien, Chiaotzu, and Krillin all took off as well to also train to become stronger. The last ones to leave were the Vegeta family, as Trunks and Vegeta Sr waited on Jr to recover from the punishment Alex inflicted on him until they too left.

What they hadn't expected though, was that Vegeta himself disappeared at some point within the night without anyone realizing it. Though Alex could have easily located him with the magic compass, the former king and Trunks decided not to do so, trusting Vegeta to survive Pangea's hostile environment despite being weakened, and believing that this was a good chance for him to work things out for himself.

Of course, what Alex didn't tell any of them was that he had designed the seals he placed on Vegeta's body to break under the right conditions. This meant that there was quite the chance of Vegeta breaking the seals on his own, and regaining his strength before the tournament.

One person who didn't journey to train themselves though, was Grant. Rather than training his Saiyan abilities like the others were, Grant had decided to further refine his Zanpakutō for the time being due to it being something utterly unique to him.

To do this, he was spending all of his time training in Asora with other sword users, and with Alex specifically as he wielded Ascalon any chance they got. Unfortunately though Alex was often too busy to spar with Grant, due to establishing a base of operations on Pangea.

Firstly they needed to establish numerous barriers to ensure that the area around the gate was safe, both for the people that would be living there and to ensure nothing got through the gate into Asora. Secondly they needed to actually build the base itself, which mostly meant housing for those who lived there to train, as well as a few small businesses to support them.

This had been the easy part though, as devil technology and magic allowed them to build at impossible speeds, establishing literally an entire city where there had been nothing the morning before. Then came the gates, which would allow people from all over the universe to come to Pangea to train.

The first gates of course were the ones leading to Earth and Asora, followed swiftly by the gate leading to the planet of the Kai's, and then New Namek. After that was Sephie's job, as the former queen of Deviluke traveled throughout the universe to establish diplomatic relations with the leaders of the various planets, as well as the galactic King of the Milky Way Galaxy.

Accompanying Sephie to protect her from any threats, like space thugs, was Shia and Shizuku. Even if they were to encounter someone on the level of Frieza, Alex had the utmost confidence in Shia being able to defend them due to her constant training with him in his SSJ4 form.

What surprised Alex was that Beerus was also putting in a fair amount of work, spending his days training Rias before visiting a planet or two to, as Alex put it, 'put the fear of God into them'. Though he hadn't actually Destroyed any of them, Beerus was making it very clear to the inhabitants of every planet he visited how much value he placed on the upcoming tournament.

Each of the five Supreme Kai's were busy as well, as the four Alex 'revived' worked to catch up on everything that had happened ever since they had been consumed by Majin Buu. Shin, the Eastern Supreme Kai, had readily returned his position to the Grand Supreme Kai after his return, and returned to governing only the Eastern quadrant of the universe as he once had.

With Pangea coming along nicely, and word of the tournament spreading, Alex was able to relax as he decided to spend some much needed time with his children, his new student, and a certain someone else.

...

"Hey Gohan! Good job on that last test!" One of the male students called out suddenly in the cafeteria, drawing the attention of the other boy in question.

"Thats right! My Gohan is the smartest there is!" Brunch proudly exclaimed before Gohan himself had a chance to answer, clinging to his arm as she did so.

"Let him breath Brunch. Gohan won't be able to do much of anything if you suffocate him so much." One of the other girls from their class said teasingly, but Brunch pretended to ignore her as she continued nuzzling Gohan's side.

Gohan meanwhile could only laugh awkwardly as he tried to continue eating his lunch, despite Brunch's closeness. This continued until there was a disturbance around them, prompting both Gohan and Brunch to look back and see Alex standing there.

"Hey. Got time for a walk?" He asked the young Saiyan.

...

A short while later found Alex strolling atop a mountain range with Gohan at his side, watching as the sun sank lower into the sky.

"So, what do you think so far Gohan?" Alex asked the young Saiyan after a while, only to be answered with a length of silence before he finally said,

"It's amazing here, but I still feel bad for leaving the way I did..." As he said that Gohan recalled his mother, and how much she was against him going to Asora to attend the Academy. Alex however smiled wryly as he replied,

"As extreme as your mother is, she just wants the best for you. What she doesn't realize though is that the best way to ensure that your child succeeds is to simply support them from behind, not to try and force them into the mold you've created for them." Gohan looked at Alex curiously at that, before asking,

"What about my dad?" This time Alex was silent for a moment before asking in return,

"Gohan, why do you train and fight?" The young Saiyan cocked his head curiously at that, as he asked confusedly,

"What do you mean?"

Instead of answering immediately, Alex picked up a fist sized rock, and threw it with enough force that it landed in a lake in the distance with a great splash. He then explained,

"I train myself because I love fighting strong opponents, because it will help me achieve my goals, and to ensure that those I care about are always protected. Why do you train?"

Gohan was silent as he tried to think about almost his entire life up until this point.

Initially his mother had adamantly refused to let his father start training him, but, after he died in the fight with Raditz, Piccolo basically kidnapped him and forced him to grow stronger in preparation for Vegeta and Nappa's arrival. Then, he had traveled to Namek with Krillin and Bulma to use their Dragon Balls and bring back everyone who had been killed by the attacking Saiyans.

After that Gohan had spent the next year and a half studying like his mother wanted, as they awaited his father's return after his battle with Frieza on Namek. However, the arrival of Trunks and his warning from the future spurred his father into talking his mother into allowing him to train in order to combat the threat. And after that, the two of them sealed themselves in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber in order to help him learn the Super Saiyan transformation.

"I train to fight whoever threatens my family." Gohan eventually answered, earning him a nod from Alex as he then stated,

"Exactly. You've always trained exclusively to face whatever threat is ahead. Your dad on the other hand learned martial arts from his grandfather, your namesake, Son Gohan. He learned it as a way of life, and survival."

Alex then looked Gohan directly in the eye as he said,

"Your father trained martial arts because he always wanted to test himself, to grow stronger. Protecting and helping others who needed it was simply a byproduct of growing stronger, a sense of responsibility regarding the strength he'd gained. And when he finally won the World Martial Arts Tournament, he retired in order to live peacefully with your mother, and you once you were born.

"It wasn't until your uncle, Raditz, showed up that Goku returned to the fight once again, and from there everything cascaded until you get to the current situation. But, despite all of that, your father's goal has never changed. What drives him isn't JUST the intention of protecting the Earth and the people he cares about, but the goal of pushing his strength as far as possible and testing his limits every chance he gets. And as far as I can tell, your father believed that you felt the same way about fighting as him."

As Alex finished speaking Gohan looked away as he tried to wrap his head around everything he had heard, and search his feelings regarding fighting himself. Eventually, he asked Alex,

"Do you teach your kids how to fight as well?" Alex chuckled at that as he said,

"Of course, but I don't expect them to dedicate their lives to it. If they want to then it's fine, but all I want out of my children is that they can defend themselves if they ever need, it, and that they could live happily." As he said that Alex got a faraway look in his eyes as he imagined his children, fully grown and living fulfilling lives of their own, a thought that was both exciting and sad.

Next to him though, Gohan was similarly thinking on everything Alex said to him. Truthfully he had only ever considered becoming a civil servant like his mother wanted, even if he trained with his father and became stronger. However that was his mother's dream, not his own.

Now that he was able to take charge of his own life though, Gohan didn't know what to make of it as everything had always been decided for him before. Eventually he said,

"I don't know what I want to do...." Though he expected Alex to be disappointed by him saying such a thing, Gohan was surprised to see him nodding with a warm smile before saying,

"That's understandable, I mean you're only eleven after all. You still have many years yet to think about what you'd like to do with your future, and the kind of person who you'd like to become. Just remember to decide something that will allow you to live your life without regrets, no matter what it is you chose." Silence permeated the mountaintop as Gohan thought on Alex's advice, which neither one broke as they watched the sun slowly sink lower.

***

After returning Gohan to the dormitory, and night fell on Asora, Alex returned to the Misty Manor to find his children anxiously awaiting his arrival, along with his new student.

"This is where you'll be doing the majority of your training." Alex said to Videl as he led her to a certain room in the manor, which merely had a series of glass orbs within it.

"A bunch of glass balls?" She asked confusedly, as she hadn't yet been in there. Alex however shook his head as he instructed her,

"Place your hand on that orb over there." Pointing to the one that was the largest out of them, Videl hesitantly did as Alex bid while the other children watched her every move.

The moment she placed her hand on the warm and smooth glass though, Videl suddenly felt her surroundings shift as she felt like she was being pulled forward by her hand. With her eyes firmly shut, Videl didn't know what was happening until she felt her feet impact solid ground once more, but then she hesitated to open her eyes.

Slowly though she became aware of numerous things that were impossible, such as the warm breeze she felt on her face, and the sound of waves crashing in the distance.

"Welcome Videl...." Alex voice suddenly said, prompting her to slowly open her eyes and see where she was. "...to the space-time orb." When she finally took in her surroundings though, Videl was stunned to see a large castle-like villa before her, surrounded on all sides by the sparkling blue ocean.

"Sorry for not telling you, but papa said he wanted you to rest for a few days before coming here." Myuu suddenly said, surprising Videl out of her reverie as she turned to see the rest of the children appearing behind her.

"What is this place?" Videl asked curiously, to which Myuu explained in her papa's place,

"It's the space-time orb, a place where space and time are both being controlled. All of this is within that small glass orb you touched earlier, and while we're in here time flows faster, so that a month in here is a normal day outside." Nodding in affirmation, Alex continued,

"We use this orb to get more time out of a normal day, spending our nights in here to train and do anything else that we can't do during the day. So after a day outside, we typically spend about a week in here overnight." As he said that, Alex led the group down the long bridge connecting the villa and the pavilion where the other sub space orbs were.

Eventually he continued,

"I've been letting you rest after the abuse you put your body though before, but now your new life officially begins. During the days you'll start attending the Academy along with Myuu, and at nights you'll come in here with the rest of us to train in martial arts." Alex then went on to explain some of the specifics regarding the space-time orb and the Academy, but Videl barely heard him as she continued looking at everything around her curiously.

What surprised her was that there was a lot of people in the villa that greeted them as they walked by, all of which were incredibly beautiful women. Some were dressed in maid outfits, others in armor, while others were dressed in weird clothes that she had never seen before.

The first place they went to was a courtyard filled with numerous long tables to eat on, which were all already laden with small mountains of food. Bringing even more out was a girl with wavy black hair that appeared to be only a few years older than Videl, who greeted Alex with a kiss, as he said,

"Hello Mikan, what's on the menu tonight?" The girl, Mikan, then listed each and every dish that was already on the tabled, as well as the numerous dishes that were still being brought out from the kitchen by many other women.

What followed was perhaps the weirdest dinner that Videl had ever had, as many of the women she had seen around the villa gathered to eat, yet there was not a single other man aside from Alex, and his sons. Instead, each of the women greeted Alex with a loving kiss or flirty look, similar to the one she had always seen women direct towards her father.

And then despite how much food they actually had before them, every single bite was consumed by Alex, his children, and the women as if they were all starving, though the women ate elegantly compared to the former two.

Then, after all of the food was gone, another woman with bobcat straight blue hair appeared with a cake in her arms. With her ALSO greeting Alex with a kiss, she then set the cake down in front of Videl while saying,

"I made this to properly greet our newest resident, and Alex's first formal student." On the cake was large swirling letters written in frosting that stated 'WELCOME VIDEL!'

What followed was a blur to Videl as many women who hadn't met her yet greeted her in various ways, from offering her their condolences about her father, to telling her to come to them if she ever needed anything. And everywhere she looked was smiling faces, most of which had looks of understanding or sympathy in their eyes as they looked at her.

Eventually she found herself in the bath with the vast majority of the other women, while Alex was in a separate bath with his children and their mothers, where a girl who called herself Asia was helping to wash her hair and scrub her back. Next to them was another girl called Erza, who was offering to teach Videl how to use weapons to use along with her martial arts, when Videl finally uttered,

"Why?" The girls around her looked at Videl curiously when they heard, before Asia asked,

"Why what?" Videl then whirred around to face her so hard that her wet hair whipped, and shouted,

"WHY IS EVERYONE BEING SO NICE TO ME!?!" By this point Videl had the attention of everyone in the bath, while Asia tilted her head in confusion as she asked,

"Why wouldn't we be nice to you?" Videl clenched her fists in frustration at the question as she again shouted,

"I PLAN TO KILL ALEX SOMEDAY! THATS WHY!"

Silence stretched at Videl's declaration, as literally hundreds of women stared at her, before Asia smiled warmly as she asked,

"Oh? Is that all?" Her words were then followed by numerous giggles and comments from the other women, several of which were them wishing Videl luck in her endeavor before they turned back to their own conversations.

This however only made Videl even more frustrated as she snapped,

"What? Do you all think I can't do it?" This time however Videl was surprised as Asia said its a giggle,

"Not at all, it's just that someone wanting to kill Alex isn't exactly news around here." Videl cocked her head in confusion at that, until another young looking girl approached her and said,

"Yeah! Let's murder that bastard together!"

"KYUUU!" Cried out a small cute-looking bat that was perched atop her head, as if cheering her on.

"Wha-" Videl uttered in confusion, as she never expected someone who would actually offer to help her kill her father's killer, before the girl eagerly grabbed her shoulders and continued,

"I'm ready whenever you are! I can't wait to pay that bastard back for all the pain and humiliation he's put me and my poor butt-"

*SMASH!*

The girl was suddenly cut off as someone kicked her square in the gut, a beautiful silver haired woman who radiated an aura of maturity, before she said while tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

"Watch your mouth in present company Kokoa, Videl is still a child!" As she declared that, the silver haired woman raised her leg straight up in the air, apparently not caring about how exposed that made her, before bringing her heel down onto Kokoa's head, smashing it into the concrete beneath their feet.

As this happened the girls around them watched as if they were seeing a particularly amusing show, before going back to their own business when Kokoa's face impacted the ground.

"I-is she still alive?" Videl hesitantly asked as she tried to back away, to which the silver haired woman calmly said,

"It'll take more than that to kill her." Then, as if to prove her point, the woman used her foot to flip Kokoa's body over so she was facing up at them, except her eyes appeared unfocused as a steady stream of blood flowed from her nose, and she uttered in an almost incoherent voice,

"Onee-Sama's special pace.... Onee-Sama's special place...."

Grimacing in disgust, the woman wrapped an arm around Videl's shoulders as she tried to guide her away while saying,

"Let's go, there should be a better spot over there away from her."

As both the woman, who Videl learned was called Moka, and Asia guided her away from Kokoa, Moka said,

"You shouldn't take what Kokoa was saying to heart. That girl is the type that doesn't know when to stop, no matter how pointless it is. And even if she won't admit it to anyone, or even herself, she does love her...sparring matches...against Alex."

As Moka was talking the trio settled into one of the smaller baths, where the only other person was a girl Videl recognized from dinner as Yami. However Yami appeared to pointedly ignore them as she didn't even glance up from the book she was reading, even in the bath.

"Is it really not that strange that there are people here who would want to kill Alex though?" Videl asked as they soaked in the hot water, which surprisingly made Moka smirk with amusement as she stated,

"Not really, and taking in and training someone who wants to kill him IS the kinda thing Alex would do." Asia nodded in agreement as she said,

"Yep, Alex can be really hard handed sometimes... But who knows, you may change your mind after spending some time here Videl." When she heard that Videl began to glower as she muttered,

"He killed my father..... I will never forgive him for it...." Even as she said that though, Asia just sighed while making a 'it can't be helped' expression, before asking Moka about the newly established Pangea.

***

The next morning Videl found herself being shaken awake by Myuu, who was already up and dressed in her training gear, as the Dagon woman said to her,

"Get up Videl, it's time to start our training!" Rubbing the sleep from her eyes, Videl rose from bed as she asked while glancing out at the still dark skies,

"What time is it?"

"It's time to train silly." Myuu repeated, before pointing to a chair and saying,

"Papa prepared some training clothes for you over there. Hurry and get ready so everyone isn't waiting on you." Leaving it at that, Myuu then left Videl in her newly appointed room after pointing out to her a stack of clothes for her to wear. A white gi with a black undershirt, and matching black shorts.

After getting ready Videl rushed out to the courtyard, where she found Alex waiting with Myuu and several of his children that had already started training, with the youngest being Ryuuto and Shuri at just barely over two.

Just as Videl was wondering if this was supposed to be some kind of joke, Alex called out,

"Ok, now that Videl's here is everyone ready?"

"""Yeah!""" The children responded the second the words left their father's mouth, before every single one, except for Myuu, sprouted some type of wings and took off into the sky. Meanwhile the pint-sized Dagon simply lifted up into the air as she used her energy to fly.

"Let's go." Alex said to Videl, before grabbing the still stunned girl around the midsection.

"Wait! What are you doing!? Put me down! Put me down!" Videl shrieked while kicking her feet and hitting him with her fists, until Alex walked to the edge of the villa and she saw the sheer drop right in front of them.

"DON'T PUT ME DOWN! DON'T PUT ME DOWN!" Videl immediately changed her tone as she then tried to cling to Alex's body like a spider monkey, gripping his fur hard enough it was a wonder she didn't rip it out in chunks.

Chuckling in response to her extreme reaction, Alex then proceeded to step off of the ledge, making Videl scream at the top of her lungs even after he began flying through the air. Even when he touched down on the island where the kids did their training less than five minutes later, Videl refused to let go of Alex's fur as her entire shook like a frightened cat's.

"You can let go now Videl..." Alex said to her gently, but Videl just shook her head while keeping her face buried in his fur, too scared to chance looking out to see.

"No fair! I wanna ride on daddy too!" Edith cried out at the injustice, which was when Videl finally peeked out to see that they were in fact on solid ground once again.

It was also then when Videl noticed just how tightly she had been holding onto Alex, while the man himself was simply looking down at her with a warm smile.

"GET AWAY FROM ME!"

Videl shrieked with a crimson red face as she released her hold on him, and fell down on her butt.

"Ouch..." She grumbled while rubbing her now sore butt, making Alex chuckle at her expense while the rest of his children swarmed him asking for a ride. As he was trying to pacify them though, Myuu slyly walked up to Videl and asked her with a teasing voice,

"So, how'd you like being held by papa Videl?" Hearing the way Myuu put it, Videl's face turned even redder as she quickly sputtered,

"I-I-I felt disgusted! That's how!" Despite her denials though, Myuu's smirk just widened as Videl's face reddened even more, while she desperately looked anywhere else with her eyes.

Thankfully though, before Myuu could tease her some more, Alex clapped his hands loudly before barking,

"Alright! That's enough horsing around. Let's get to work!" Immediately all of the children stopped fooling around as they recognized their father entering his 'teacher' mode, making Videl also straighten up despite her still red cheeks.

"Alright, let's begin our lap!" Alex declared, before he took off at a light jogging pace with the rest of the children following him in a line. Taking up the rear was both Videl and Myuu, as the former still wasn't sure about this training, though it couldn't be THAT bad if children as young as Ryuuto and Shuri were doing it, right?

Myuu meanwhile decided to run alongside Videl, because she knew from personal experience that her papa's pupil wouldn't be able to even finish this part of the training without help.

At first Videl thought it wasn't so bad as Alex led them out of the pavilion they started in, and down to the nearby lake.

"Is that where we're stopping?" Videl asked Myuu in between her breaths, to which the Dagon just smiled wryly.

Then, Alex led the children in a loop AROUND the lake until they were right back where they first arrived to it.

"NOW we're stopping, right?" Videl asked Myuu again, except this time she had started to pant tiredly due to having never ran so much at once before.

"Nope." Myuu said simply as Alex then led them away from the lake, and towards a dense thicket of trees.

They then wove between the trees on a well worn trail for several minutes until the trunks began to thin, by which point both of Videl's sides were aching from the continuous running. Her suffering wasn't anywhere close to ending though, as they finally exited the thicket and she saw a tall mountain ahead of them.

"Please don't tell me..." She uttered in despair to Myuu, who simply nodded as she said,

"Yep."

Videl then could only watch despairingly as Alex and all of his children proceeded to run up the slopes leading to trail that would take them to the peak of the seemingly massive mountain.

...

"Ok, is everyone here?" Alex asked without even sounding out of breath as they crested the peak of the mountain, where a small monument of stones was standing. However a quick glance told him that they were still waiting on someone, as a breathless Videl slowly clawed her way up the mountain with Myuu by her side.

"F....f...finally..." Videl gasped out as she collapsed onto her back, her arms and legs sprawled out to either side as her chest heaved up and down. If she were able to actually look around though, then Videl would have noticed that not even Ryuuto or Shuri were out of breath from the morning jog.

Instead, she just closed her eyes, the dirt and rocks beneath her feeling uncommonly comfortable as she contemplated passing out right then and there. Before Videl could pass out though, she sensed and felt someone moving up to her head, prompting her to reluctantly peel her eyelids open to see a cute face framed by snow-white hair looking down on her from above, a pair of similarly colored cat-like ears protruding from her pure white locks.

"Do you need some help?" The girl, Mai, asked innocently. And though Videl wanted to say no, she still couldn't catch her breach enough to say so, so Mai simply helped herself as she sat down and moved Videl's head into her lap.

"Mommy taught me this~Nyan." Mai explained poorly as she placed her hands on either side of Videl's head, leaving no room for Videl to protest whatever she was about to do next.

What DID happen though caught Videl by surprise, as she felt a sort of energy fill her that wasn't there before, and her breath quickly began to slow to a steady and controlled pace. A minute later Mai smiled down at her innocently as she asked,

"Better?" Instead of answering though, Videl slowly rose until she was sitting, and asked Mai warily,

"What did you do to me?" Mai tilted her head to the side cutely, as if she were confused by Videl's question, before answering with a smile,

"I used my Senjutsu to help your body feel better faster~Nya! You should also have more energy now Videl." As she slowly stood up Videl couldn't help but to notice that Mai was right about her body feeling more energized and refreshed than she ever recalled it feeling before. And so, it was with a sheepish look on her face that Videl looked down at the still smiling cat-girl, and said,

"Thanks..." Despite her awkwardness though, Mai beamed at Videl's gratitude as she went back to Edith's side. This time though Alex approached her, making Videl put her guard up before he pointed at the pile of stones and said,

"We started a sort of tradition here, where when someone starts their training they add a stone to the pile. You should go ahead and add your own." Blinking in surprise, Videl looked around to see everyone else looking at her expectantly as they waited for her to add her own stone to the cairn.

Feeling like she was being put on the spot with everyone staring at her so intensely, Videl quickly picked up a decent size stone, without minding its shape, and placed it on top of the pile so that it was just a little bit taller than it had been when they arrived. As she did so Alex stealthily used his magic, like he would whenever another stone was added to the cairn, which would prevent the stones from falling regardless of how they were stacked.

He then placed a hand on Videl's head, ruffling her hair slightly while she tried to swat his hand away, and declared,

"Alright, now let's start the next warmup!" Videl's entire body became alert as she hesitantly asked,

"W-warm up?" Alex nodded as he stated,

"Yep, that was just the first part of everyone's warm ups. We still have to skip to that Mountain top, then zigzag through that jungle until we reach that one, before swimming through that bay, and then finally returning to the villa by walking on our hands from the shore. Now let's go!" Once again leading the group, Alex started skipping down the mountain with each of the children excitedly following him, while Videl seriously began to think that she wouldn't survive this training...

...

By the time they returned to the villa, Videl felt more exhausted than she ever did in her entire life, and this was just the warm ups.

Then, making her feel even worse, the rest of the children quickly broke up into groups to begin their REAL training. Some began sparring with each other, in which Videl witnessed a battle on the scale of which children shouldn't be capable of, others started strength training, lifting weights in the hundreds or even thousands like they were nothing, while the rest had begun training their magic and other abilities with their mothers.

After giving her some time to recover and catch her breath though, Alex approached Videl and said,

"Ok, now it's time we began the first stage of your training, controlling energy."

"Energy?" Videl asked warily, to which Alex nodded as he explained,

"Yes, energy. Every single living being possess it, but only those who train extensively can learn how to use it. Depending on the universe you're in though, the name they use for energy and the way they use it varies, Ki, Chi, Chakra, Haki, Touki, Senjutsu, and so on and so forth. There are also varying types of energy as well, such as Magic, Youkai, Demonic, Holy, Draconic, Divine, and so on and so forth again.

"Now for the time being though you'll only be learning how to use Ki energy, and there are several that you wouldn't be able to use regardless of how much you try, so we'll put off learning about those ones for the future." As Alex paused Videl immediately furrowed her brows as she asked testily,

"If I can't use them then why bother learning about them?" Alex then surprised Videl by asking in return,

"What is the most important thing when fighting?" The words were barely out of his mouth when Videl leapt to her feet and declared,

"Strength!"

"Wrong!" Alex said as he lightly chopped the top of Videl's head, making her rub it as she looked at him ruefully.

"How's it wrong? You need to be strong in order to fight!" She stated firmly, to which Alex shook his head as he replied,

"Not true, there's plenty of people who can fight without 'strength'. Instead they might fight with magic, speed, or even a special technique that makes strength useless." Videl glowered at Alex's answer, seemingly not impressed, before she spat at him,

"Then what is it that's most important?" Alex smiled wryly as he lightly poked the middle of Videl's forehead, and said,

"It's knowledge. If you truly KNOW your opponent, how they fight, the way they move, their little ticks and tricks, then you can KNOW how to defeat them. That's why I intend to eventually teach you about the different forms of energy use and fighting, so that you can know how to fight those who use them even if you can't."

Videl was silent as she absorbed this, even as she vigorously rubbed her forehead as if Alex had 'contaminated' it with his touch, before she finally said,

"Ok, let's start then!"

***

The next several days followed the same routine for Videl, waking up early to start on their 'warm ups', and then energy training with Alex afterwards for a couple of hours. Once she and the rest of the children concluded their training for the day, then they would be able to enjoy free time doing basically whatever, though more often than not the children would insist on spending time with their father.

Then, in the evenings they would get together with the hundreds of women in the space-time orb for dinner, followed by a daily bath. Afterwards Videl would then receive daily Senjutsu treatments from Mai's mother, an extremely busty and mature looking woman called Koneko, which would hopefully help her learn to sense and control her own energy faster.

Then several days after she began this routine, Videl was surprised when the rest of children suddenly disappeared, leaving her and Myuu alone on the island they did their training on. She then heard from Alex,

"For the rest of the 'night' outside the space-time orb, the children will be asleep in their beds in the Misty Manor so I can spend some quality time with my wives. Lately Myuu has been staying the rest of the night in here as well, but the two of you cannot leave the island during that time. Ok?" Though Videl wanted to ask what the heck this was all about, Myuu readily replied,

"Ok papa! We'll be good!" Alex nodded in affirmation as he said with a serious tone,

"I trust you will, I don't want to have to punish you again Myuu." When she head that Myuu shuddered at the memory, leaving Videl to imagine the worse case of Alex directly abusing the Dagon.

"What was that about?" Videl asked as soon as Alex flew away, leaving her alone with Myuu on the island.

"Papa likes to do 'adult' stuff with all of the big sisters in the space-time orb, but can't when us kids are around. One time I tried spying on them, but papa caught me and spanked me so bad I couldn't sit for a week." As she said that Myuu rubbed her poor butt with an expression on horror as she recalled the memory.

Videl meanwhile was recalling how HER dad also spent a lot of time with many women, and asked Myuu,

"What do you mean by 'adult' stuff?" Myuu's aggrieved expression morphed into one of mischief at the question, as she then began whispering into Videl's ear about the things she saw that night.

Slowly Videl's face began turning pink, before her entire upper body turned bright red as she shouted,

"THATS GROSS!"

In the face of Videl's embarrassment though, Myuu just snickered like someone who played a successful prank.

...

Later that night, after finally falling asleep on the bed that she was using on the island, Videl was suddenly shaken awake by an excited Myuu.

"Videl! Videl! Wake up!"

"Wha-what is it?" Videl asked as she rubbed the sleep from her eyes, while also more than a little annoyed at Myuu for waking her up. However Myuu held up a strange orange orb, with a single red star in it, and excitedly said,

"I went to go spy on papa again, to learn for when I grow up, and overheard him talking about these things called Dragon Balls! Apparently they can grant any wish if you collect all seven of them!" Immediately Videl was wide awake as she asked,

"Can they bring back my dad?" Myuu however could only shrug her shoulders as she said,

"I don't know, but maybe! Let's go!"
