Hannah picked up her suitcase and marched out the door. Before taking her last step outside, she turned and waved to her old house. The flowers in the garden were in full bloom and the trees were almost smiling down at her. She then turned and threw her bag in the back of the trunk and hopped into the front seat with her father who was waiting patiently at the wheel.
They drove for hours singing along to the radio and admiring the view of the fields they passed by. The fields were golden and full of life. Birds sang their songs on telephone wires and crickets chirped.
Hannah looked around slightly confused. No cars were driving around them so Hannah took this opportunity. Hannah clipped off her seatbelt and lifted herself up and swung her arms open giving the open air a large hug. Hannah let out a laugh with a smiling face.
Their road trip was far from over so when it became dark Hannah quickly fell asleep, unsure of what was to come in her new neighborhood.
Her father looked at the road sign as Hannah slept and noticed a very strange vibe around the people they passed. Everyone seemed to be watching them...
He soon pulled up to their apartment building. 'Apartment B' was what the half-bent sign said. He pulled into the tiny garage they were given and quickly shut the door. Hannah soon woke up to this sound and was anxious, yet tired.
"Hey, dad! Why didn't you wake me up?" Hannah said as he punched him on his stone back. Her fist hurt for a quick second before she was suddenly handed her large suitcase and other boxes. She carried this into their new house. After setting them down she turned on the light. Their apartment was a small two bedroom house. The kitchen was connected to the dining room and the living room. the hardwood floor was worn out and there was a small leak in the corner of the room.
Hannah looked at the house in a phase. Her father soon walked in giving her a little push. She found herself walking into a small closet-sized bedroom and placed down her boxes. There was a small slab of wood on the wall that she assumed was the desk. It could flip up and down, which Hannah thought was interesting. She laid down on the thin, twin size mattress.
Hannah sighed deeply.
