"She's losing consciousness, sir," a lady warned.

"It's fine just keep working," a man replied coldly.

"But sir? She could die if we d-"

"We are this close to what we've been working on! I'm not going to throw that away because she's losing a little blood! Understood?"

"Yes, sir."

Silence filled the room.

All I saw was white and blue. All I could feel was the pain, and like my sanity was slipping away from me.

All I could hear was my heartbeat going faster and faster as if it was going to explode. I attempt to pull my body up to free myself from this pain but I can't. I'm trapped.

~Why am I here? What's happening to me?

Why do I feel so...

...empty...

so...cold?~

But then my thoughts were interrupted by a soft voice.

"Are you really going to do this? Just for some power, sir," another man treads lightly.

"We could take over everything, and nobody will look down on us ever again. This is very crucial, William."

"But, sir...she i-"

"You think I care?! She's just another project."

Those words echoed in my ear over and over to the point they could bleed.

'Just another project'

Those words hurt more than what they're doing to me.

'Just another project'...

The girl jerked her head out off the bed screaming with tears in her eyes. She looked around in a panic, to finally realize it was just a dream.

Pain struck her stomach where the wound was so she went to touch it, but she couldn't. Looking down, she noticed leather straps on her wrist, feet, and waist. The leather straps dug deep into her wrist and ankles making her skin rubbed raw as she jerked to get free.

Then what sounded like footsteps going down the hall, got closer and closer. The panicked girl began to hyperventilate and her anxiety quickly rose.

"N-no, no, no- " she wimpered and whined under her breath as her unsteady breathing made it harder to understand her.

No matter the pain she was feeling from her bruises, she yelled, pulled, kicked, and struggled to get free; but then her head slowly dropped and she stopped like she was in deep thought.

She looked back up and gave a strong glare at the straps on her arms as if she was waiting for something to happen. But before anything could, an older man, that looked around the age of fifty, came in with two guards behind him.

Her breath hitched and her head twisted towards him as her face was red and puffy from crying.

The man, ignoring her current emotional state, spoke bold and clear "I'll get straight to the point. Who are you? And what business do you have being here?!"

With every word, he yelled the girl trembled. She squeezed her eyelids together and shook her head violently in fear. The girl wanted to plead for mercy thinking they would hurt her, but it was like something physically had a hold of her throat so she could not.

The girl sat there swallowed in fear and didn't speak a single word. She finally processed what the man said, and in response, she gently shrugged.

Then one of the guards behind Henry -who happens to be the same guard the night they found her- questioned sarcastically, "Oh, so you just showed up in the middle of the woods, bleeding out-"

The girl opened her mouth to speak but got cut off and was too frightened to continue.

"-with an army chasing you and you don't know?!"

"Gillian. That's enough." Henry demanded.

She flinched again. Her heart racing, pulse jerking, mind twisting, terrorizing memories all flooding back. She couldn't hold it in. There was just 'too much pain'.

"I-I- d-don't-"

"I- d-don't kn-know," she sobbed in fear as tears blurred her vision.

A silence grew in the room, and every eye was on her. She instantly regretted speaking up and she pulled her chin back close to her chest.

But the look the man had on his face told her to finish, so she tried to.

"Y-" she faltered, "Y-ou d-don't k-kn-ow me..." She looked up at him through her lashes, "a-and y-you w-wouldn't un-understand."

"Try me." Gilly protested sarcastically. But he was immediately silenced when Henry threw his finger to Gilly's face to hush him.

"Then help us understand," Henry attempted to change his voice to a more comforting tone, "and we can h-"

"N-no." She choked out at the bridge of throwing up as she violently shook her head left and right.

"N-no one c-can help me."

Her head steered away from his direction; while trying to blink away tears. "No one can..."
