Vineeth finally reached the school with a hope to change the things he wanted to change.
"I almost forgot how beautiful my school was in my childhood. Although Technically I am still in my childhood." mesmerized by the beauty of the surrounding of the school.
"Guess I was too fixated on the schools infrastructure and not the big grounds and surroundings."
It was surrounded by old big green trees. The houses was very sparse and the construction of a church was going on nearby. The School was mostly a shack. The walls were not made of cement but thin planks of wood. The roofs were made of sheets of aluminum.
"I hope it will not rain today. If I remember correctly the roofs were leaky."
"Oh Shit! I am not aware where is my classroom." He looks everywhere to see if he can remember.
"It seems even if I am back in my fourth grader self I don't quite remember what happened yesterday."
He Wanders around to look for class but of no luck because can't remember past events before he woke up in his current self.
"It's going to be a hard day. For Now Lets concentrate getting to correct class."
"Who Should I ask without looking weird?" He looks around for someone close to his age.
"Oye! Why are you still standing? We need to make to class before prayer begins." A boy taps on the back of the Vineeth and asks.
Vineeth realizes that it is his friend Tushar. A Skinny cheerful playful boy who used to have his own agenda in everything.
"I was just looking at the school." Vineeth replied to Tushar trying to hide that he forgot where is his class.
"Let's go to the class. Who is going to teach us today?" He asked Tushar curiously because there were a few teachers he remembers from his childhood but not all.
"It's Dinke Madam." Dinke Madam was class Teacher to Vineeth from the second grade and onwards.
"Thank God! It's her. she will either teach English or Geography. The day seems not so bad." Vineeth Grins and follows Tushar towards the classroom.
Vineeth enters classroom to see it filled with people he know but in their the childhood. Tushar leads Vineeth to the frontmost seat in the class.
"I don't Remember when I became a back bencher. But It feels weird to sit the front of the class."
After the prayer class begins with Dinke Madams English teaching. She has planned a test today and told everybody to memorize the poem a day before on which the test will be based on.
"I don't remember anything before today morning about this timeline. How could I even pass the test without knowing which poem it was." perplexed Vineeth even doesn't have an option to tell what happened to him to anyone.
"What If I fail this test? The Worst thing that could happen is my parents will be informed about the performance."
"I think I should not worry about this test for now."
"What is more worrying is that even though this is a second chance I have to repeat my childhood?"
"This Sucks. I though Second chance means just making the decision and life will automatically change its course and I will have new memories and voila life is changed. I guess this sucks."
"Children Open your books and write the answers to the question displayed on the board. This test is for 20 marks." Miss Dinke looks at Vineeth with expectations, the little she knows that he is going to fail in this test.
As expected he of all students failed the test and few along with him. The few along with him was usual suspects.
"Vineeth. Your Performance was very low in this test. I didn't expect this from you."
"Madam. I was very sick yesterday and was not able to study. My Apologies it will not happen again."
Miss Dinke and the class looks surprised by this answer because in the class no one speaks English but Hindi. And Vineeth became more comfortable with English with his age and job he did. Miss Dinke do not speak much of an english because the students do not know much so she reads and translates it into Hindi.
"Ok. Vineeth This time I 'll take this excuse but you have to do better next time."
After the first half of the class the recess happens normally the recess is at 10:30 am and has only half hour. And Vineeth goes out with his food box. For Convenience he follows around Tushar until they got a good place to have their food. The ground is all covered with grass so anywhere is good to sit. Normally children form a small circle to have their food as well as share what they have.
After having food all children uses the leftover time to play games. But Vineeth being confused about this situation and being an old man inside he finds difficult to blend in.
"How do I blend in with these children? Does it make sense to blend in?" For Vineeth this was a second chance at life but at the same time redoing every little thing can be really boring. For him the concept of second chance was to change important decisions not to have the whole life all over again.
"Anyway I will have to get through everything till my adulthood. So it is better to have companions from an early age."
"Lets profile everyone in class and make them my allies." Vineeth Grins.
