Chapter 50 - May I Sleep With You?

Xiao Jing stood in front of the stream and washed her face.

Watching the setting sun, she couldn't help but let out a long sigh. Why did I have such a good time yet have to come to this Iron Eagle to look for trouble? She should have taken a hot bath at Regiment 525, then gone to the cafeteria for a sumptuous dinner, and slept peacefully with her pillow embroidered with lotus flowers.

But where was she now? What was she doing? Xiao Jing sat on the ground, both of her hands on her chin as she looked at the leaves being blown around by the wind. The surroundings were unusually quiet.

"Gu gu gu." The nightingale began to sing.

"Gulp." Xiao Jing stopped picking up the branches and looked at the creek behind him in shock.

Why did she feel that something was approaching her? The sun was setting in the west, and the deep forest was filled with a strange atmosphere.

Xiao Jing cautiously placed the tree branch up, lit a torch, and carefully paid attention to the calm ground in front of her.

"Rustle."

The withered leaves trembled slightly, and something was swimming in them.

Xiao Jing's hands tightly gripped the spear as she stared intently at the withering leaves.

The python stuck out its tongue and slowly crawled towards the stream, as if it didn't care that someone was spying on it.

After Xiao Jing was sure that this thing posed no threat to her, he let out a breath and took out the compressed bread to take two bites.

"Huff, puff, huff." There were bubbles of water forming in the stream.

Xiao Jing switched on her flashlight and suddenly, her expression became serious as she rolled backwards in panic. In the dark night, a pair of scarlet eyes flickered with a peculiar light, and the smell of blood assaulted her nostrils. "What is it?"

Xiao Jing swallowed a mouthful of saliva. The light from the flashlight was limited, she did not manage to see clearly what kind of creature attacked her earlier, but judging from its general size, it should be a creature stronger than her.

This was a jungle. Logically speaking, the kind of creature that she thought was living in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. She didn't think that there would be such a thing in the inland area. But the truth proved that she was too naive!

"Huff, puff, huff." An angry roar rang out from the stream once more. A moment later, a leg kicked across the fire, clearly revealing the enormous creature.

"My mom." Xiao Jing turned and ran into the forest.

The crocodile's movement was extremely fast, and with a sweep of its tail, it tripped Xiao Jing down to the ground. Xiao Jing was flabbergasted, she did not hesitate to fire two shots consecutively. It was a pity that the crocodile's skin was so thick and rough, the bullets posed no threat to it.

The crocodile was enraged and once again furiously ran over. Xiao Jing grabbed onto the tree trunk and climbed up the tree with all her might.

She looked at the large object that hadn't left the tree for a long time, and patted her chest as if she had just survived a disaster.

However, she still hadn't relaxed her guard. It was as if something ice-cold was rubbing against her skin from her ankle. Xiao Jing immediately shot a shot at the thing beside her feet.

With a "bang," the sound of gunfire woke up a large portion of the nocturnal birds in the forest.

The frightened birds soared into the air one by one.

Xiao Jing's hands covered his head, but his skin was still scratched by the bird claws.

"Whoosh, whoosh."

The crocodile began to stir restlessly, smashing its massive body against the tree. The leaves trembled, and Xiao Jing almost lost his balance and fell down.

"Don't play like that." Xiao Jing hugged onto the branch tightly, and planned her next step while at a loss whether to laugh or cry.

"I've really overestimated you." On another tree, a man's powerful voice echoed throughout the area.

Suddenly, Xiao Jing looked over in disbelief. Under the night sky, his figure was blurry.

Shen Cheng Feng jumped down from the treetop and with a flash of silver light, the alligator that had been so mighty just a moment ago slipped into the stream with its tail between its legs.

Xiao Jing climbed down from the tree, still in a confused state. She blinked her eyes, pointed at the big thing with no intent of resisting, and laughed bitterly: "Why do I feel like this crocodile was raised by you, Captain? He runs when he sees you. "

Shen Cheng Feng kept the dagger back into the sheath, glanced at the little figure who was smiling at him, and said indifferently: "Every time a new recruit practices, he will need your help."

"..." Xiao Jing seemed to understand why this big fellow was so excited and was waving its claws at her.

The moment it saw the big dumpling, it would immediately run away, afraid of being beaten up.

Thinking of his superior's special ability, that level of injury on the crocodile's tail must have been caused by him.

"Actually, you can go even further, but you just have to put yourself at ease and think of a place with water to rest, so you ignore even more dangers in the forest." Shen Cheng Feng lit up the fire once again.

Xiao Jing squatted in front of him, hugged her knees, and whispered: "Captain hasn't left yet?"

Shen Cheng Feng glanced at the smiling Xiao Jing, he threw a wooden stick into the fire and said, "Every officer in charge of training must be responsible for the safety of their own soldiers, if I leave, that guy will have a full meal today."

Xiao Jing looked in the direction he pointed. Under the moonlight, a large head was staring at them from the stream.

Shen Cheng Feng picked up the black python that Xiao Jing had killed, passed the blade over, and peeled the snake skin off.

Then, he picked up a wooden stick to pick up the snake body and placed it on the fire. The fragrance of meat filled the air, causing the big guy in the stream to become even more restless.

Xiao Jing covered her mouth, staring at the snake meat in front of her, she shook her head in panic.

Shen Cheng Feng however, did not move, and stubbornly placed the snake meat in front of him, and said with a stern expression: "This is cooked, when you are on a mission in the future, you will need to eat raw, bloodied meat, or even rats."

Xiao Jing's face turned green, picked up the snake meat, closed her eyes, opened her mouth and swallowed the tasteless food.

"Alright, go to sleep. I'll take you out tomorrow." Shen Cheng Feng laid out his clothes on the dried up leaves.

Xiao Jing slightly shifted her body, right next to the other party.

Shen Cheng Feng opened his eyes and stared at Xiao Jing who was about to hug him, and asked: "What do you want to say?"

"May I sleep with you?" Shen Cheng Feng looked at the little soldier who was ready to make a move, and shifted to the side, purposely opening up a few spots.

Xiao Jing quickly lay down, wrapped his cloak around her and tried her best to reduce the feeling of existence.

Shen Cheng Feng coughed lightly, "We're too close."

"It's safe." Xiao Jing leaned on his side in peace.
