Ye Mo stops cultivating 8 hours later and wakes up Ye Niu who groggily rubs her eyes. Ye Mo smiles slightly and brings out some beast meat for Ye Niu to eat as breakfast and they head to the exit of the forest.
They encounter a few beasts along the way, but since Ye Niu already has sufficient combat experience right now, Ye Mo chased them all away with his aura, so they peacefully reached the exit of the forest.
Although Ye Mo came to this world over a year ago, he has never tried to leave the forest the whole time, so he is is slightly curious about the world. He is wondering whether it will look like ancient China or medieval times.
Ye Mo leads Ye Niu by her hand and walks along the gravel path that is built where they came out. They follow the path for around an hour before they spot a town, so they head towards that town. There is a sign that reads [Sun Frontier Town] outside of the gate.
There are a few dozen people outside of the gate with carriages, so Ye Mo assumes they are merchants or something similar, as this town is near the Forest of Horrors, a place loaded with beasts people can kill. Merchants could buy beast parts or Inner Cores.
Ye Mo can see people giving coins to the gate guards before they are allowed in, so Ye Mo instantly realizes that he needs the currency of this world, and he doesn't have any. A bit annoyed, Ye Mo asks the System.
[Ding! Host can purchase 1 Copper Coin for 1 point, 1 Silver Coin for 10 points and 1 Gold Coin for 100 points.]
Shrugging, Ye Mo buys 100 of each coin for now and puts them in his storage ring. When it comes to be their turn, the guard looks at them for a few seconds in a daze before he speaks to them somewhat politely.
"To enter the town, you need to pay 2 Copper Coins per person, Sir." The gate guard politely says.
Ye Mo puts his hand in his pocket and pretends to take out 4 Copper Points but he really took them out of his storage ring. He hands them to the guard and he lets them enter the town. Ye Niu looks curious about everything in the town since she was just born recently, and even stayed in the forest since. Ye Mo is also slightly curious, so they take a stroll around the town.
They found a few shops that sell clothes, a few shops that sell medicine, a few shops that sell weapons and tools, there are also shops that sell slaves, which doesn't surprise Ye Mo. He already knew something like the is would exist in the world, so it doesn't bother him that much. He knows that he cant change it, so he doesn't let it bother him.
They spent the whole day looking around the town and when it started to get dark, Ye Mo led Ye Niu towards the best looking Inn within the town and walked to the counter where a clerk is standing at. The clerk smiles at them professionally and starts speaking.
"Hello customers. Would you like to buy a meal or a room? Buying a meal would cost 5 Copper Coins per person while buying a room will cost 15 Copper Coins." The clerk stated respectively.
"Please give us one room, there is no need for food." Ye Mo simply says towards the clerk who nods.
The clerk grabs a key with a number on it and passes it to Ye Mo, who passes over 15 Copper Coins. Looking at the key, Ye Mo is reminded of hotels back on Earth, so he shakes his head slightly and pulls Ye Mo with him to the stairs and walk up.
He looks around the doors which have numbers on them until he finds the door with the number 679, which is their room. Ye Mo puts the key into the keyhole and unlocks the door before entering with Ye Niu. He closes the door and locks it with a small button similar to those back on Earth.
Ye Mo is somewhat surprised by how close these things are to Earth, but seeing Ye Niu nodding off and barely staying awake, he throws those thoughts out of his mind and carries Ye Niu towards the bed and puts her onto it and covering her with the blanket.
Ye Mo doesn't need sleep, so he sits down on the ground and uses Death Mantra to gather Qi towards himself, and he instantly notices that the Qi is too thin compared to within the forest, so he frowns slightly while sighing to himself and continues to cultivate.
10 hours later, Ye Mo opens his eyes and looks at the sleeping Ye Niu while smiling. She is curled up like a ball and has the blanket around her like a cocoon. Ye Mo found that cultivating here in this town for 10 hours was equivalent to cultivating for 40 minutes in the forest, which caused him to frown hard.
"No wonder the strongest person I saw when we were walking around the town was only at Qi Lo Stage 4. The Qi here is way too damn thin to cultivate fast." Ye Mo mutters to himself while standing up.
He walks over to the sleeping Ye Niu and pokes her chubby cheeks repeatedly until she opens her eyes slightly. Seeing him poking her cheeks, she gets angry and starts smacking his hand away while he keeps poking her cheeks. Ye Niu eventually covers herself with the blanket, causing Ye Mo to laugh even harder. Eventually, Ye Niu joins him in laughing.
They eventually got up and headed downstairs, and after handing in the key and refusing breakfast, they left the Inn and headed towards the other town entrance, the one which leads away from the forest and towards the Royal City.
They easily exited the town and when they were decently far from it, Ye Mo picks Ye Niu up and starts running towards the Royal City. Since he knows that it will take weeks to walk there, Ye Mo runs there with his full speed without using skills and doesn't stop.
He keeps running for hours and whenever Ye Niu is tired and falls asleep, Ye Mo created a tiny barrier around her with his power to make it more comfortable for her to sleep in his arms. Continuing this constantly the whole time, they reached the Royal City in 4 days, rather than 2 or 3 weeks.
Looking at the huge walls around the Royal City, both Ye Mo and Ye Niu are surprised. The walls are around 250 meters tall, and around 50 meters thick. When they reach the gate, two guards walk up to them and start speaking.
"Show us your identity card" One speaks in a cold voice towards them.
"We don't have one of those." Ye Mo says simply.
The guards look slightly surprised but they hid it instantly. One of them brought us towards a small building and started explaining.
"You will infuse your Qi into this crystal ball and your basic information will be shown and created into a card which is used as your Identity Card." The guard simply states.
Ye Mo looks at the pure white crystal ball sitting on a table and puts his hand onto it and injects a thread of his Qi into it, and it starts shining and a few words come up.
[Name: Ye Mo
-Age: 25
-Race: Human
-Gender: Male
-Affiliation: None]
Looking at the Race part, Ye Mo lets out a breath of relief when it doesn't say his Devil part. He figures that the System hid that for him, so he gets Ye Niu to do the same as him.
[Name: Ye Niu
-Age: 6
-Race: Human
-Gender: Female
-Affiliation: None]
Ye Mo lets out another sigh of relief and watches as the guard hands them two cards made out of unknown material that have the exact same words as the crystal ball showed. The thread of Qi we injected into the crystal ball was placed into the cards, so that they can't be used by others.
Ye Mo leads Ye Niu into the city and they looks around. The buildings look a lot like those on Earth. There are glass windows, wooden doors, brick walls and roof, or at least what looks like brick. There are also hundreds of shops around, even street stalls. Most of the shops are weapon and medicine shops, there are also pill and cultivation resource shops around.
Ye Mo uses his Divine Sense to inspect a few pills but sighs when he realizes that they are just Grade 2 and 3 trash. This Empire or continent probably doesn't have high grade alchemists, Ye Mo thought to himself.
It is already getting dark by the time they finish looking around most of the city, and Ye Mo is slightly tired due to running constantly for the past 4 days, so they book a room at an Inn. Ye Mo places Ye Niu onto the big and soft bed and she falls asleep instantly. Ye Mo sits down on the ground and uses Death Mantra to gather Qi.
He notices that the Qi isn't as thin as the town from before, but it is only equivalent to about 2 hours in the forest for 10 hours here. Ye Mo shakes his head and just cultivates for the night.
