Kaira awoke the next afternoon. The pain and sadness that came over her after the events of 'that' day resurfaced, as if it just happened yesterday. She decided to go on a walk, to calm her mind down and distract her from the heavy emotions she was feeling.
She went into her closet and put on a white dress with lace around the ends.
She leaned down and got her sandals that were light brown in color.
Her golden hair flowed down, as if the sun had turned to liquid.
If one were take a look at her, they would think that a goddess had descended from the almighty heavens, to come bless this world with light. She was truly a devastating beauty.
Once she walked outside the house, she paused for a moment, looking up at the sky and then taking a deep breath. Then Kaira started walking down the sidewalk. When people passed her, they took second glances to make sure it was a real person.
As Kaira was walking down the sidewalk, she heard laughter, coming closer and closer. As it was coming closer, she thought that the the person's laugh sounded very familiar.
As she continued on, from far away in the distance she saw her ex-husband and step sister laughing together and afterwards, hugging each other affectionately. The sight of this brought back all the emotions she was trying to suppress on her walk. Her eyes started watering and her hands began to shake. Her whole body was trembling.
But she thought to herself 'Don't cry Kiara, don't cry. Don't let these people win. Don't show them how much this has affected you. Just walk pass! Ignore them!'She continued to walk down the side walk, clenching her fist and trying to slow down her heart beat. Every step she took as she got closer made her heart beat even faster.
Once she reached the pair, she looked down, failing to hold in her tears as it quickly ran down her face. Rillion watched as Kaira slowly walked pass him and Wendi. He could see that Kaira was struggling to contain her emotions, and he felt pity for her. But that was it; no love, no remorse, just pity and a slight resentment. 'Oh how weak this girl is.'
Wendi glanced and watched as Kaira silently cried and she felt extremely amused. " Oh hi Kaira" Wendi happily said. Kaira quickly wiped her tears and changed her sad expression to a happy one.
"Oh hi", Kaira responded meekly but still kept up her smile." How are you?" She asked.
Wendi looked at Kaira up and down. She knew that despite the smile, Kaira was hurting a lot inside and just knowing that pleased her greatly. The fact that she, herself caused that made her extremely happy. She wanted to jump up for joy, but of course she had to keep up appearances." Me and Rillion are doing wonderfully and we are currently going on a date", Wendi replied.
"Oh right!" Rillion interrupted " Please make sure to mail back the divorce contract i sent you."
"Oh, yes of course" Kaira replied as she tried to mask her sadness and disappointment. Although it happened just about a week ago, she still hoped that one day, Rillion will say that he regretted everything he did and his one true love is Kaira, herself. But she knew that this was just a fantasy and that it will never happen.
All the while, Wendi was talking to Kaira about how her and Rillion are planning to get married and have a baby soon.
This made Kaira confused. 'Why is she telling me this?' She quickly looked down and took a deep breath. Afterwards, Kaira told Wendi and Rillion that she had something to do and she quickly ran back home. Once she closed the front door, she slid down the door, clutching her chest and sobbing uncontrollably. Her salty tears ran down her face and dripped onto her white dress. At this very moment, what Kaira decided to do would change her life forever.
