It was a good and fresh morning at the city of Hertia and today is the first day after the summer vacations, hence students from every part of the kingdom are coming back to learn and understand Magic.
It is a new year, excitement in new and first year students can been seen easily as they are going to learn Magic at the well-known Hertia Academy.
However, there is a student without the slightest tinge of excitement in his heart, even he does then he is a master in hiding it. His name is Erling Searson, an orphan from the Searson Family who is going to attend the Hertia Academy from the next week.
For now, Erling is sitting in a cart towards the city of Hertia, well, rather hidden in the cart. Being just an orphan the Searson Family is unwilling to sponsor him and since he has nothing to lose, Erling shrugged his shoulders and decided to sneak into the academy.
The cart was going through a town named 'Bersant' and inside the cart there were two people sitting, a middle-aged man with tanned brownish skin with a handsome face carrying some wrinkles that give it unique look. Beside this man is a young girl around the age of seventeen with skin like snow and soft features, a long nose with slight curved edge and big eyes with calm blue in them. The two of them are none other than… Edward Searson the Head of Searson Family and the family heir Grace Searson.
Yes, Erling is freeloading on their cart, the two of them sitting in and Erling hanging down between the moving cart and the hard road, a slip if hand and… well, whatever happens it will be painful.
"Father we must hurry, it will be good if we will reach as early as possible," Grace said in her calm demeanor.
"Hmm… I agree," he thought and commanded, "horseman increase the speed!" Abiding to the order the horseman took the whip and patted slightly on his horses' backs and being well trained the horse understood the faint pat meant an order to increase speed, therefore moving their legs faster. The reason there is such emphasis on the action on increasing the speed because it is a problem for the freeloader hanging down, Erling!
'DAMN YOU! I KNOW YOU HAVE DOWN THIS ON PURPOSE!' Erling shouted inwardly, he knew somehow Grace had done this to cause problem for him, even though he did not how did she knew about him or if not then she is troubling him sub-consciously or unknowingly.
"Whoa!" He is trying to grip the cart harder and keep his mouth shut, nevertheless his voice reached to Grace and looking through the corner of the lower window, she saw a boy juggling down the cart and in a single glance and her only though was 'OH NO!'
"What was that noise?" Edward asked as he moved towards the window to see out. Erling being able to listen to everything tensed up and tried to stop his unintended and momentary movement.
"Ah! Father it must be the horses! They must be too tired due to the journey and want some rest!" She has completely lost all her calm demeanor, 'Arghh Erling! Why do you always cause so much trouble for me?" She was unaware for why did this boy like to trouble her so much, she has never done anything to him then why does he want to cause a problem or other for her. She is sure that he will take her name if he was caught saying something that will make her look bad in front of her father.
"Huh, the horse you say," Edward rubs his chin and continues, "well, I agree you are right so should we stay in an inn for the night?"
'Inn… PERFECT!' Grace though of a plan that will solve her problem and take care of Erling both at once. "Yes father we should stay in an inn for the night and continue towards Hertia tomorrow morning."
"Fine. Horseman, stop the cart at a good inn nearby!" Oblige to his command the horseman soon stopped at a luxurious inn and finally ended Erling's hellish trouble that made his numb.
