It certainly was kind of funny considering the last time that Umbra and Sagar met under these circumstances but now their roles were reversed. Looking at Umbra who was in turn looking out into the night sky Sagar asked her, "What are you doing out so late Umbra? You could get in trouble if you were caught."
Umbra was wearing a blue nightgown with some blue slippers to match. She didn't bother tying up her hair as it was allowed to flow down covering most of her back and of course she was wearing her glasses.
Giving Sagar a light smile, Umbra responded, "I'm not sure if you should be one to talk Sagar, you're doing the same thing as me. If you must know I came out here because I was having some trouble sleeping is all, what about you? Did you just come out here to be a hypocrite?"
Laughing lightly Sagar couldn't exactly retort as she had a point and he wasn't really being serious in the first place. "Same as you I couldn't really sleep, even with everything that we did today my body refuses to let me relax."
"That's surprising, I didn't think there was anything that could make you nervous enough to prevent you from sleeping. Even when we were fighting that golem a couple of months ago you didn't seem nervous at all, at least until Talia casted her spell, you seemed quite nervous then.", letting out a small chuckle, "Especially how you rushed to get Talia and I away from the blast." Umbra bent her legs to allow her arms to wrap them probably because it was a bit chilly outside and she was lightly dressed in a nightgown currently. "You know for the longest time I've been wondering about something, I just didn't know if it was okay for me to ask about it."
Wondering what she was wanting to know about, Sagar told her, "Go ahead, I pretty sure I wouldn't mind your question."
"Well you don't have to tell me if you don't want to but I just wanted to know what element you used whenever you made that final barrier to protect us from Talia's spell? I was able to see that the other barriers you put up hardly blocked the blast but you're last one was different."
Sagar wasn't expecting her to ask this sort of thing and he certainly wouldn't think two people would ask him about the Almighty element on the same day. Putting on a sly smile, Sagar said, "I'll consider telling you if you tell one of you're secrets in return. I don't care which one but it only seems fair that if I share something about myself than you should do so as well."
Umbra didn't hesitate much and just nodded her head in agreement with Sagar's deal. Sagar then put up a small isolation barrier around them to prevent others from hearing them in case someone was spying, for example a certain old man. Sagar even infused the Almighty element into it so if Gammel was watching then Sagar sort of fulfilled his request from this morning.
Waving his arms around him, Sagar started, "You can see that I infused the element you want to know about into this barrier around us.", Umbra sensed the element of the isolation barrier and could tell that Sagar wasn't lying this element certainly matched the one from the protection barrier. "This element is the one that I'm actually the most adept with rather than the explosion element. I use the explosion element mostly as a cover and to also represent the fact that I'm from the Drak family. There are several unique things about this element but one of the main things you should remember is it's domineering power."
Umbra was a bit confused when she heard Sagar tell her this because as far as she could tell the element was more hard to sense than anything else. From both the times she had seen Sagar use this element she hadn't felt an ounce of pressure from it rather it was almost like it was invisible instead. This is mainly because Sagar had a good amount of control over the Almighty element that he was able to suppress one of it's main attributes to the point where it was hard to tell it was even there. He could only use this with support or defensive spells though as it was too hard to change whenever he was using an offensive spell but that was an important aspect of it anyway.
To show Umbra what he meant he focused a tiny amount of the Almighty element into his palm enough to form a pea sized sphere but this was enough. Right away Umbra was able to feel it the pressure emanating from the small amount of energy, she couldn't even imagine how Sagar was able to use it with ease as just from feeling it she could feel her body becoming sluggish.
Putting away the energy Sagar continued, "I was able to figure out how to use this whenever I was younger simply by chance. Luckily for me I had a strong body then as well otherwise I would almost be incapable of using it. Please keep this a secret for now, only a few people know about it, I was going to tell you and the others eventually so it doesn't hurt to tell you now. It would be terrible if others found out about and try to force me to teach them how to use it especially when I'm not that strong at the moment."
While Umbra was taking in that Sagar trusted her enough to tell her this she also caught something else he said, "You would have told us regardless, huh? I wonder if I should even share my secret with you since it seems to be a waste anyway.", she told Sagar this in an almost smug manner.
Sagar would've felt like falling to the ground hearing Umbra's statement but he was already on the ground. Seeing that Sagar looked like he at a bug, Umbra let out a hard laugh which she didn't have to hide because of Sagar's barrier. To comfort him a little Umbra tried to stop laughing to tell him, "I'm joking, I'm joking, why'd you take that so seriously.", she could hardly contain herself trying to finish her sentence.
Letting out a sigh Sagar responded while rubbing the back of his head, "Fine, are you going to stop laughing now and tell me you're secret."
"Of course, of course. First let me ask you if you know about the fact that sometimes someone is born with a unique trait?"
Nodding his head, Sagar figured that she would start talking about the royal family. Right now only those in the royal family had the unique trait on being able to shape shift into whatever creature they desired. There was also shape shifting magic that one would be able to learn using a variety of elements, say for example like the water mage from the investigation squad that Sagar fought. He was able to shape shift his water to create perfect illusions of his comrades and he might have been capable of more if Sagar feel it necessary to wipe him out quickly. The thing that made made the royal families shape shifting different is that depending on what creature they turn into they could also develop the creatures unique characteristics. Say if they were to turn into a slime, at that point they would capable of taking reduced physical damage just like a slime, of course they also develop the drawbacks that the creature has as well.
There was a limit to this as a toddler from the royal family wouldn't be able to turn into a dragon or something right off the bat. They not only have to train with their trait but they also must become more powerful themselves. Another draw back is that they also must learn about the creature they want to turn into in detail and also must have seen the creature at least once. It's a big draw back but if they were able to fill in the requirements they would be able to turn into a dragon like mentioned before. It was also because of this requirement that the royal family likes turning into griffins as they had many books on them along with their own keep where most of their own griffins are located at.
Seeing that Sagar knew what it was Umbra continued, "Well, you see, I actually didn't develop this trait, instead you could said that the unique trait mutated whenever I was born."
Sagar had never heard of such an instance occurring or at least it wasn't recorded in anything that he's read so far, but he didn't interrupt Umbra. " Now instead of being able to shape shift, I have an the ability to learn unique magic with ease. All I have to know is the properties of the element and it's name, which then allows me to use it to a high degree almost like I had been learning it my entire life. When I was younger I couldn't really control the trait but when I was able to get a handle on it, it worsened my vision having me to wear these glasses."
As she was saying this she took off her glasses allowing Sagar to get a good look at her ashy colored eyes. It was only in a instant of blinking but Umbra's iris turned from the ashy color to a full spectrum of colors lapping around her pupil.
