"Okay, here we are, this is where our HQ is located. Welcome to Mekacoil."Lyra stopped at a check point. "I have a letter from the colonel." She gave it to the guard.
The guard opened the letter and read through it. "You may enter. "He pressed a button to open the gate. "How was the experiment? I saw it launched a few minutes ago."
"It was a total failure. That is something I need to report as well to the higher ups." She passed the check point.
"Where are we heading?" Zi asked lying down at the back of the jeep.
"I'm bring you to our best hospital to check you."
"Can I take a tour of your city?" requested Eva. "Never seen so many people before. It feel like I want to explore this entire city."
"I'm happy to hear that but to tell you the truth it's not all that safe especially for a woman. Let's me at least escort you after I bring your friends to the hospital."
"You already help us so much I can't let you do that you must have something more important thing to do."
"No, I insist that I escort you there are plenty of wonderful places to see in this city."
"All right, I'll take that offer."
After half an hour, "We're here." Lyra took a wheel chair from the hospital. Free and Whip helped Zi out. While Eva was eager to see the city.
"You go on ahead we can take care from here on." Free said to Lyra.
The three of them went in the hospital while Lyra and Eva went out to the city. "Is there someplace you want to see?"
"How about someplace where children have fun."
"I'll bring you to my old school. It's been a long time since I went there." Lyra started the engine and drove off. "It isn't that far from here."
"That seem to be a wonderful idea."
Minutes later they were in front of a school. Students were looking out at the window. "We're here." They got out of the jeep.
A teacher were coming at them with a furious look. "What are you doing here? You soldier aren't welcome here."
"Ms. Humming, you still look young as ever."
"You're flattery won't... wait, is that you Lyra?" she examined her every detail. "You grown so much. You are in the military now. That right! Your parents are in the military. It's no surprise you in be one. Sorry about that earlier but we been having problem with the military recently."
"What did they do?" Lyra expression change, "Did they do something at this school?"
"They took one of our student from her class accusing her of being a robot."
"That can't be right. There shouldn't be a single robot in this city."
"It's probably her peacemaker that they detected but they won't believe her, so they took her away, we tried to stop them but they pointed their guns at us."
"I can't believe this, what is the student name?"
"Her name is Elizabeth Lane. She is always been a good student and a top of her class."
"I don't know what I can do but I can't stand it people being accuse false." Lyra ran to the jeep and soon realized why she was there. "Right, I forgot." she was to returned when Eva stopped her
"I'm going with to help."
"But that is no place for any ordinary civilian should go."
"I don't know what I can do to help you but I want to repay you for helping us back then. "She looked straight at her eyes. "Pretty please, I can't just stand here when someone need help."
"Alright, I don't know what I'm thinking but I'm sure it won't be bad to bring you along with me." They went straight to HQ which was at the center of the city and park in front of the gate. They marched the front door when they were halted by a guard.
"No one is allowed to enter at the moment."
"I want to see my father, the commander I know he is in there."
"Who are you?"
"My name is Lyra Ross, daughter of General Barton Ross and Colonel Nora Ross."
"Even if I believe what you had said, I still can't let you in. They are in an important emergency meeting. I can't let anyone in."
The door opened, "It's alright she can come in the meeting is over." said the man with a mustache.
"Dad!" Lyra gave the man a hug.
"Lyra, My little girl!" He hug her back and smile at her. "What are you doing here?"
"There something I like to ask you father." Lyra looked at her father eyes and said, "Someone took a student in my old school, I want to know why?"
"Come to my office. I will explain." He led them to his office and sat down on his chair. "Both of you can take a sit." They sat down on the couch. "Before anything else I want to ask you, who is that person beside you?"
"Eva, you can say she is my friend, I was supposed to show her the city but something change and we came here instead."
"Well, I'm glad you made a friend but this discussion is for military personnel only. She is not allowed here." He gazed at Eva. "Sorry young lady but you have to leave this area."
"But..."
"It's alright Eva. At least I got to see your father, I'll just wait for you outside." She gave a smile at him and leave the building.
"Now that she left the room we can discussed this. It's true that we took a student from your old school and there is a good reason she is after all a robot."
"But it could have been a mistake, she has a pacemaker the scanner must have mistaken..."
"That's is not possible, do you think that such a thing would mistake an outdated device. Our technology have advance that only a few people would use such a thing. We also have examined her to make sure and we were right she is a 100% percent robot."
Lyra was surprised, "How could that be possible that a robot could infiltrate our city. We have scanners in every entrance and exit of this entire city."
"The only thing I could think of is that their technology have improve much faster than ours. That they could overpower our detection with their stealth."
"Wouldn't that make thing worse if people found out the whole city will be in a panic."
"Wait!" He stood up and his face started to sweat. "Something is not right. Lyra leave this place NOW!" He rushed out from the room.
Lyra ran after him, "What is wrong father?"
"It was too easy for us to capture the subject, something was not right but I couldn't figure out at that time." He pulled the fire alarm. "Everyone get out of this place as far as you could." He gave a hug to Lyra and said, "Take care of your mother." and continued to squish his way to the crowded hallway.
Lyra don't want to leave try to follow him but was drifted away by the sea of people going out of the building. "What going on?" The people were standing outside wondering the reason for the alarm. "Is this a drill?"
Lyra stood in front of them and said, "Listen everyone, we need to go away from this area."
"Why?" A person asked in the crowd.
"My father, General Barton Ross, order everyone to leave this area as far away as they could."
"What going to happen? Where is he? How far should we go?" people were barraging her with question.
"I don't know but I believe my father has his reason."
Some people started to return back to the building while other started to leave the vicinity.
"What going on?" Eva grabbed her shoulder with worried look.
"We have to go." Lyra grabbed her by the wrist and rode the jeep back heading for the hospital. Half way there the earth started to shake followed by a huge explosion can be heard. It came from the direction were they came from. "Daaaaaad!!!!" She stepped on the brake. "Sorry about this Eva but can you go back on your own? You can use the stairs over there and go straight. I need to go back."
"I understand." Eva get off and Lyra drove off took a U-turn and accelerated at full speed. She waved goodbye and said, "I hope your father is safe." While she was climbing up the stairs a huge guy follow her leading him to the hospital where the other were.
