Aeon was surrounded by five other people, but the crowd was not the reason why he was sweating profusely. Currently, a thin and barely visible barrier was projected in front of Aeon, and he was staring intently at it, trying to keep it intact as much as possible. The barrier did not look like it manifested physically. Instead, it simply looked like a mirage that constantly swayed in front of the mage. At first, it didn't have a specific form, but later on, the others realized that it was slowly taking the shape of a rectangle.
Aeon was bending his spell shield!
The people around Aeon beamed with joy, especially the Emperor, Lucian Meredith.
After a few moments, the mirage disappeared. Aeon's body eased from the tension, and he began gasping for air. Despite his current look of exhaustion, however, he had a smile on his face and one eye opened to look at the Emperor and ask, "How did I do?"
