Aeon and Leona were able to rest peacefully for thirty minutes. Within that period of time, their soldiers were able to re-establish their line of defense on the western side of the town. They would have been happy and full of smiles by now, but certain news poured over their joys like a bucket of cold water.
They heard that their troops had run out of magic recovery items, so even if they had a tight grip on the initiative right now, if the fight drags until early evening which was only less than an hour away, their defense would start to crumble. There wouldn't be any chances of retreat after that as well.
Refilling their item supplies was out of the question because they would have to purchase them from other empires. Moreover, it couldn't be done in an hour. If they wanted to hold out until the enemy forces fall back, they would need more reinforcements.
The problem was that there was no word about backup arriving.
