"Aeon!" Mark exclaimed. He felt all of his strength leave his body and he fell on his butt. Then, he began panting. Adrenaline coursed through his body earlier, so he couldn't feel pain almost entirely, but now, every inch of his body was starting to ache. "Get down! There are a few more enemies around."
Hearing this, Aeon cautiously looked around before jumped down from the rooftop. Then, he approached Mark.
"Arrived just in time!" Aeon said with a grin. He was clearly happy that he was able to see his friend alive.
But this did not invoke a happy reaction from Mark as opposed to what Aeon had expected. For a while, the man sat on the ground in silence. Then, he said in a low voice, "I wish I could say the same for Gavin and the others."
