Although hundreds of E-ranked defensive spells were layered in front of each other creating a wall, one could not deny the fact that the mages who casted these were in a rush on top of being exhausted. These spells were way weaker compared to the normal ones they would usually cast. An S-ranked spell being able to cleave through it was not impossible.
The first defense crumbled. On the second strike, they had no choice but to dodge.

Even from a distance, the residual wind blasted at their faces, forcing them all to close their eyes. Those who didn't do so immediately felt like their eyeballs had been slashed by hundreds of tiny daggers.
