The dome of light did not hurt them, but it had an extremely strong repelling force. The moment it caressed their bodies, it felt as if gravity had turned sideways. Bodies streaked through the air like shooting stars. They casted spells to stop themselves from getting pushed farther away, but the force was just too driving. It didn't seem to follow conventional physics!
The light stopped expanding. It didn't cover a sizable area. It was just enough to hit every mage surrounding those eight people who invoked it. Looking at it now, it was apparent that the enemies had indeed been setting Meredith's forces up. The enemies wanted them to get as close as possible in order to do the reversal.
With that, Meredith's strongest experts on the battlefield were booted out.
They wouldn't be able to join the battlefield for quite some time, being launched a few hundred meters in all directions.
