Enemy troops had started pouring into the battlefield. The function served by the mist had greatly weakened after losing some of their expert mages. The signals sent to the mist guards were now less accurate, allowing lots of people to slip by them.
The people who were on standby began to rush towards the incoming mages. The enemy's formation at the center was currently surrounded by their soldiers, and some of them had their backs facing the enemies. If those people would have their attention divided, their suppression would greatly weaken and they might end up exposing some openings. They absolutely cannot let that happen or else they will lose their current advantage.
What they needed to do was to buy enough time for their elite forces to eliminate the ones they are surrounding. They could sweep the rest together afterward.
Once more, the scene descended into chaos. No one was able to predict this outcome, but here it was.
