Chapter 3 - They're coming

Recapitulation:

So smiling she starts to walk, when all of a sudden her happy face morphs in agony and heartache and she screams:

__..._..._..._..._..._..._..._...__

Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

Getting out of their little bubble of happiness they heard their daughter screaming  and instantly they knew bad news was coming. Going to their daughter they embraced her and asked: What is it,little warrior.

Trembling she says: The scarred man comes to kill us and he is not alone. He's got an army full of humanoids and they thirst for blood.

Closing her eyes she continues: They're coming!

Listening to the worst new possible they knew a choice had to be made so without even looking at each other and with an amazing synchronisation they stood straighter than ever and said: Stay here...

Turning around and going inside the house they go directly to the hidden compartment of the room and start to get dressed on their armour and even though it's been 15 years since the last time they were it it still fit like a glove, they looked as majestic as in the past.

Taking their weapons as well they were armed from their heads to their toes. They were not going down without a fight. Taking the backpack they had prepared before and hoped to never use they got out of the little house.

Standing before their daughter they knew it would be the last time they would see each other. So even though it pained them they smiled and said all those little things that parents say even though we already know because we heard it a thousand times already: Eat well, don't forget to train your accuracy, dont jump meals, always make sure to have first aid and medicine with you at all times and dont talk to strangers...

All Nadine could do was nod her head because of she she opened her mouth she would beg for them to stop, that she could do something, that they would find a way out, anything, but what they are asking of her. However she knew it would be for nought because they had made a decision and no matter what they would see it through, no matter what.

So taking the bag from them she gave them the best smile one could ever see. If this would be the last time then she would not cry in front of them. She would show them she would be fine: Papa,Maman May God  watch over you in my absence. And take care will you?

Turning her back to them,  she started walking, even though she knew that they would die here she also knew she could not change their decision so accepting and supporting was all she could do. Even though tears were threatening to fall she would not let them.

She just continued without waiting for an answer and never turning back to see the tear stricken faces of her parents...
