[We have it on good authority, sir.] Xavier frowned as read the new message. His phone had blown up all night and once Jos had fallen asleep he had finally read them all... but he wasn't pleased with what the messages had entailed.
He typed out a reply to his tech. [Send the address to Dante. Tell him to handle this shit right away I will end them both.] Xavier glanced down at the sleeping form beside him. {I refuse to let anything take her away from me now. She is everything I've ever wanted. There is no other person that has ever affected me like this woman. There is nothing that would keep me from fighting to have her by my side for the rest of my life.} A ping from his tablet brought his thoughts back to the current situation. He snarled as he read the name of the sender, Dante… He glanced over at the soft body beside him as she let out a soft moan and shifted.
Joslyn woke to the pitch darkness of an unfamiliar room. The mattress shifted beside her as a hand came down lightly atop her hip. She rolled over and meet the gleam of Xavier's bright green eyes that lit the dark. Her mind was still a bit foggy from the alcohol she had drunk, but that wasn't what had woken her up. She could feel her cheeks flush as she realized he manages to put a loss shirt on her after she had fallen asleep. "Ummm, I… I… have… to…" She glanced away feeling her cheeks heat more.
Xavier smiled; he sat the tablet he had been working on onto the nightstand beside him. He leaned down over her and placed a light kiss on reddest part of her cheek. "Do you need the bathroom?"
She nodded glancing up into tender eyes. "Yes, please."
He leaned down and kissed her nose lightly before turning away and scooting to the edge of the other side of the large bed. He pushed the cover down and stood up. He adjusted the silky boxer before walking around to her side of the bed. He extended his hand out to her and walked her through the dark bedroom toward a large door. He opened the door and slid his hand down the wall until the overhead light turned on.
With a flick of the switch amber light filtered through several globes clustered in groups around a brilliant white and gray marble vanity. It reflexed softly off the matching marble that ran up the walls and down along the floors and through a massive glass-encased shower. Gold gleamed from the fixtures around the room along with the many canisters and vases adorning the counter. A large round mirror hung dead center where Xavier's pleased smiling eyes met hers.
"Oh wow!" Joslyn said as her unsteady gaze went from the large room back up to him. "You must be a great surf instructor."
He laughed, his eyes glittering down at her. "I may have my hand in a few other ventures."
"You don't say?" She said sarcastically as she walked farther into the bathroom.
He laughed again, "I'll go turn on a lamp while you're in there. Do you want water or anything?"
She turned back toward the door, but he had already disappeared back into the darkness. "No, I'm ok."
When she came back into the bedroom, he was sitting on the edge of the bed with the table lamp on, illuminating his features. His arms were crossed over his bare chest. The tablet dinged from the nightstand, but he didn't take his eyes off her as she walked slowly toward him. She tilted her head as she examined him closer. He was topless with a pair of loss pajama pants on and a pair of reading glasses rested on the end of his nose "Have you slept at all?"
He grinned, "No, not really. Vampires really don't need much sleep. If they do sleep, it's usually the ones who can't go out during the day and that's usually out of boredom." He chuckled and shrugged his shoulders before extending his arms out toward her.
She stepped into his arms as she asked, "What do you mean 'out during the day'?"
He pulled her against him, "It's complicated to explain." He circled both arms around her small body and stroked his check against her plump breast. "Come, lay back down. I wouldn't mind sleeping… if it's with you." He gazed up over the frames at her, his chin still resting against her breast.
She ran her hand through his soft hair. {If there is one thing to be said about this man, he is enticing. Staring into his eyes are absolutely hypnotic.} Before she had even finished nodding yes, he tightened his grip on her waist and flipped her onto the bed beside him. She let out a startled giggle.
He leaned over to set the glasses down and turn the light off before scooting onto the bed and laying down beside her. He pulled her up against him, sliding one arm under her head, and lightly stroking her back once again. With the index finger of his free hand, he brushed the loss hairs out of her face. "Go back to sleep, beautiful. I have something special planned for tomorrow."
She arched a brow, "What do you have in mind?"
He simply laughed and placed a light kiss on the tip of her nose. "Sleep, love." He nuzzled against her forging sleep until he was sure she was back in dreamland where she belonged. He carefully pulled his arm out from under her and kissed the top of her head before retrieving the tablet and heading downstairs.
Xavier tossed the tablet onto his desk as he selected his brother's number from among his contacts. He leaned against the desk, drumming his fingers impatiently atop the desk as he waited for Dante to pick up.
[Fucking finally! What the hell took you so long. You have your guy send me a fucking address with no explanation?!] Dante roared into the phone as soon as he picked up.
Xavier rolled his eyes. "It's the address to a Gen who is very close friends with your missing bitch." Xavier ground his teeth in anger as he continued, "You may have taken a minute to figure these things out before you got involved with her."
[Me? Get involved?! Look who's talking. I bet YOUR whore is in your bed as we speak.] Dante yelled back.
Xavier's anger rose, "If you ever say anything like that again I will personally rip your throat out! You and these pups will not fuck this up for me, do you understand!"
[Of course, brother, please tell me what I can do for you to make your life better?] Dante barked back sarcastically.
Xavier walked around the desk and flopped down into the chair. "Since you asked, you can clean up your fucking mess." He pulsed for a second to listen for any sign that Joslyn may be awake but when the house beyond the doors remained quiet, he continued. "I don't care what you have to do, but you will track down the girl and fix this. That address is to the apartment the Gen was living in. I want you to check it out, find out what you can from the roommate. Play nice I don't need any of this getting back to Joslyn. THEN FIND HER!"
[If the guy is a Gen then they could be anywhere in the world right now, how is talking to the roommate going to help?] Dante asked, the wheels in his brain finally beginning to work through what it meant having a Gen involved.
Xavier thought for a minute, "If he is close enough to her to have been the one to help her, then chances are he was at the party. Tell the roommate that the Gen…" Xavier scrolled through the information his tech guy had sent over earlier. "Bhamra, Reyansh aka 'Rin'. Tell the roommate that Rin won the auction for a brand-new board and lessons. That you are there to congratulate him and set up the lessons. Ask as many relevant questions as you can then find a way to search the apartment. My guys have found an address in India as well, but my guess is a Gen wouldn't want to go back to a master once they've been released." Xavier fired up the desktop in front of him. He entered the address in India into the search bar. He scanned through the information posted.
[Is that all?] Dante said boredom weighing heavy in his words. [A simpler answer to this who problem would be torture the roommate until he tells me what I want to know, then simply kill him afterward. It would be much easier to search the apartment.] Dante replied.
Xavier continued reading through the articles, "No, I told you, I don't want this getting back to Joslyn… Ha…" He yelled before eagerly reading the information from the screen. "Our little genie my very well be back in his 'lamp'. It says here the late lord of that palace passed several years back leaving everything to his servants along with the rights to his name along with his fortune 'Bhamra'. Talk about a 'rags to riches' story, this one must take the cake." Xavier continued reading through the article when a picture farther down caught his attention. "What's this?" He asked out loud.
[How would I know, am I there with you now?] Dante said sarcasm oozing from the phone as he spoke. [If there's nothing else I'll be getting off and going to fetch, like a good dog… I only have a few hours left before the sun is up.]
"Yes, ok… that's fine…" He hung up and sat the phone down, unable to take his eyes off the screen. Unable to believe what he was looking at he blew up the image. He sat back in the chair amazement and bewilderment battling for prevalence among his emotions. "It can't be…" He quickly screenshot the photo and sent it to his tech guy with a quick list of instructions. After he pressed send, he quickly deleted his search history on both his computer and his tablet and shut the desktop down. He typed out another text to his secretary instructing him to clear his schedule for the next two weeks.
