Chapter 3 - It is happening

Her feet that were running nonstop stops as she catches her breath, standing at the pedestrian that stops her, her hazel eyes squinted. This is the third time that a traffic light stops her from moving forward to escapes her early death.

His lips curve upward as look at the familiar silhouette that was desperately gasping for air as she waits for the traffic light to turns green. Pulling up his car near where she was standing and rolls down his window "Trying to escape?" there is a smug expression that was shown on his face.

A shocked expression was plastered on her face that somewhat amuses him.

"What the?" Clara was shocked to see the familiar look of the psycho who was in front of her.

"Adelia?" he called there was somewhat hint of coldness in his voice.

The woman's eyes widen when the man in the car suddenly gets out of the car "What are you doing?!"

He strides forward to her and leans beside her ear "Get in the car, you can't run away from me" without waiting for her reply she is dazed as she was dragged to the car.

Realizing what just happened, she looks at the man beside him and glared at him as if she was throwing daggers. "What the hell? Do I know you? I let me get out!" she protested as she tries to open the car "What the hell is your problem?! Let me get out or I will kill you before my editor kills me!"

With that word comes out from her mouth she was rather shocked since when did she become violent, but this is a matter of whether I could live in this harsh world.

His eyes were rather calm from hearing such a threat "You can't run away from your debt to me or if you are not willing to pay cash you can be my entertainer"

A scoffed escapes from her lips "Are you ill? I don't have any debt on you! You are greatly mistaken, sir!" Clara protest as her little hazel eyes glimpses at the clock in his car. With a widen eyes shoot it was already eleven-fifteen!

Looking at the calm face of her kidnapper, a face that was oblivious to her protest, her annoyance escalates quickly "You dumbshit! I will show you that you are mistaken but before that could you bring me to the Heaven café?"

He peeks at her annoyed face, it still amuses him how fun her facial expression is "Why would I?"

"If not I will not able to pay you my so-called debt because I will be going to heaven in a first-class seat" Gritting her teeth and she glared at him "So would you please?" … 'before I could murder you my own' she continues on her thoughts

"Alright" he shrugs before taking a turn and at a speed of light, they are in front of the café.

Looking at the building that was covered with the white stuff,

'Heaven café' what a good choice of a place where I will be murdered. "Let's face the grim reaper" she mutters

Looking at the woman who immediately abandoned him running straight inside of the café he slowly goes down of his car and takes his time walking inside the bright café.

Facing her death she shows her a slight smile "I'm already here no need to murder me on your imagination"

A scary smile was plastered on her editor "Clara Del do you think I am not busy myself?" she said in a low threatening voice with her eyes widens that her eyeballs could pop out.

Lowering her gaze she fidgets "I'm sorry, okay?"

"If your sorry could fix it all there shouldn't be police on today's time," she said before sighing "Show me your new story" showing her palms, demanding Clara to give her laptop

"Uh. Actually" she licks her lips as she tries to meet her editor's eyes but immediately lowers her gaze "It's not romance" she admits as she bites her lower lip

Without hearing any violent reaction she decides to take at her editor and find she was rather stunned by the man who was sitting on the other of our table.

Meeting his gray eyes, Clara blinks multiple times after confirming that the psycho was really in front of her the question escapes her lips "What are you doing here? Psycho?"

The editor diverted her eyes from the pretty face to her writer "Who-?"

He casually crosses his legs before making eye contact with the editor, giving her a casual smile "Let just say that I don't want this lady to be out of my sight"

The editor eyed Clara with a doubtful eye.

"Uh." Looking at the man through her peripheral vision she sighs, it looks like he doesn't have a plan to leave her alone. "Can you leave us alone for five minutes?"

His gray eyes meet her hazel ones "I don't want to or you could pay me right here, right now" his arms were folded as he leans on the chair

She laughs helplessly as she looks at her editor "He was just joking"

A gasp escapes from the woman's mouth "Don't tell me that you really accept my suggestion?!" Her eyes move back from her to his. "You really hired a boyfriend?!"

"S-stop!"

Clara stood up as she panics, feeling that she attracts the attention of the customers she immediately takes a sit.

"It's not that. My book this time will not be in the aisle of the romance "

Her body stiffens as her editor's palm hit the table, "WHAT?"

"You. Did you hear me right? I want to challenge myself" clenching her hands into a fist and nibbling her lower lip, she looks at her editor with determined eyes "I want to try the mystery genre"

"Are you out of your mind? Mystery?! You are a romance author and you suddenly detour to opposite way!" massaging her forehead she sighs "I did tell you that how you handle romance is shallow but I did not expect you to drop the genre!"

Clara's eyes immediately move to the unknown man with them.

It was embarrassing to show him this, she didn't even know this man.

But her embarrassment faded away when she saw him was busy on his phone with an AirPods in his ears.

"Clara?" her editor called for her with a gentle tone "Are you sure you're not just stressed? I can give you time to rest before the writing contest start"

"I like to try this genre. This idea was hunting me, I am confident about this" her eyes glistens with confidence "Why don't you hear my idea first? I actually did the draft" she immediately opens her laptop that has been in her lap for the whole time.

The editor swirls her drink as she comfortably leans on the couch "Okay let's hear it"

'Uninterested'

Clara sighs as she peeks at the man with them, but he seems busy with his own world.

"It's all about the serial killing that is happening to the rural area, all of the victims were proclaimed that runs away from their sudden problems, but found a couple of days later floating at the particular river" she takes a deep breath before facing her laptop to her "This is my first draft"

His fingers stops scrolling when he heard her idea'

'Serial killing huh?' a small smile escapes his thin lips.

Unconsciously he listened to her rumbles while still scrolling on his phone, but immediately stops and stares at her. Seeing how confident she is with the idea of her and hopeful her eyes were to be recognized with the idea she has.

The editor took a sip before looking at her once again with curiosity in her eyes "There was a map on the man's arms?"

The question of the editor took him by surprise, his eyes widen in a matter of seconds before going back to his relaxed posture but his thumb stop scrolling and took a peek at her expression.

There is a glowing light in her eyes as she smiles widely "Yes! The victims have a map in their arms, these maps are their identity and that map was the masterpiece of the killer itself"

The editor leans on the table as she put the latte down that she was drinking a while ago "Identity?"

Seeing how her editor become interested her eyes glimmers as she excitedly clasps her hands "Yes, it was a map where they found the body going back to their own home. Their 'real home' that they've been hiding from the pe-" before she could finish her sentence the man who idly sitting a while ago pulled her

"Please excuse us for a while," he said before dragging Clara away from the editor without waiting for the approval of either Clara or the editor.

"Wait! What's your problem!" Clara glared at him massaging her wrist because of his grip a while ago. "Why did you drag me here?" looking at the small hidden path between the café they were in a while ago and another building.

His cold eyes meet her burning glare "Where did you learn all of that?"

She knew it he was listening to! "What?! It was from my brain! My imagination!"

"Do you think you can fool me?!"

"Why would I fool you!?"

His eyes were darted on her measuring whether she was spouting lies "That detailed information, where did you get that?"

"What the hell are you implying here? I said it was from my imagination!"

Clenching his teeth he stares at her with a sigh "That case, that serial case you mention is happening"
