The youth stepped out of the estate and began making rounds only to meet jeering at his first place of collection.
"Get out of here, who does the Maneru think they are trying to collect taxes. Your lucky I don't call the Peace Keepers" scoffed a merchant which had drawn the ire of the youth.
"Then you can shut down" stated the youth as Miasma began to drift from his body as he beat the man and destroyed the shop causing the people to panic.
The youth then went to the next shop and repeated his reason for being there with better results, though it didn't take long for the Peace Keepers to arrive.
"Hey, what do you think you are doing. Only we of the Peace Keepers are allowed to collect taxes" came the gruff voice of an older man as he walked to the youth who had by this point collected taxes from three others.
"What was that" asked the youth as he turned a hostile look to this man.
"Your illegally collecting taxes, if you don't wish to be taken into custody then hand over what you have taken otherwise I will use force" stated the man causing the youth to laugh.
"You are in my territory but dare to collect my Taxes, this is the land of Maneru there is no need for your ilk and for you to speak so arrogantly to this young Lord." started the youth with a chuckle.
"You must have a death wish" finished the youth as a noxious cloud burst forth poisoning the man to death.
"Listen people of this city, the Maneru will no longer be complacent with your disrespect nor your disregard" called the youth his voice seeming to resound over the city.
"Those who are found to be collecting the Taxes of the Maneru will be dealt the death penalty, those who refuse to pay will be evicted and their possessions levied for the amount due. The Maneru are back and we will deal with any hostility with the full power of our rights as the Lords of this territory. The Peace Keepers are here by disbanded and their ranks are now wanted criminals for the crimes of theft and assault on nobility, I am the Lord of Maneru and exercise my right to of reign over this territory" called the youth causing shock among the populace and the Peace Keeper's faces to turn ugly.
They had long since become the unofficial lords of the city with the fall of the Maneru and now it seemed that the dying Clan had found new life if they were exercising their right to rule.
The leader of the Peace Keepers heard the call and was shocked, he wasn't ready for his life of luxury to end and on top of this he had become a wanted man all in the same moment. Cursing he was going to call his men to announce they would be dealing with this new Lord but heard a rumbling from the base of the building. He watched as the walls began to crack and fall apart and a deadly swarm make it's way into the building infecting the inhabitants as a youth walked in displaying a cold countenance and a vengeful smirk.
"Hello captain or maybe I should say former captain, you heard my announcement just now. You're a wanted man and you have been collecting the Taxes of my clan greedily, you know what that means" chuckled the youth as the captain looked at him in horror.
"I-It's you" choked the fat bastard as sweat began to pour down his body.
"It's me, I'm not that little kid that you can just bully anymore. I'm the Lord of this territory now" laughed the youth as he had many run ins with this man and had ended up battered and broken because of it.
"W-wait" started the man but he soon found his heart speeding uncontrollably.
"Guess you didn't know this but my power doesn't end in poison, then again maybe you knew all along. I'm a real plague" chuckled the youth as the fat man died of intense fever from an advanced fatal disease.
'Alright, temporary goals finished. Now to start the real rise of this dead ass Clan' thought the youth as he walked out the crumbling building filled with corpses, his swarm of pests coming out carrying the assets that had been acquired by the Peace Keepers during this time.
He struck swiftly so he could avoid these people using their abilities to battle him as he was confident in the fact there were some who could defeat him among their ranks thus he used his plague like ability to use the disease carrying swarm to infect those inside before entering. He had used one of the techniques he learned from the archive to channel his poison through his muscles to augment his strength enough to rock the foundation of the building for added intimidation for the people as word traveled fast and he needed to establish dominance over the area as quickly as possible and what better way than fear.
The youth returned to the estate with people looking in fear, in one fell swoop they had lost their old protectors and had fallen back under control of the Maneru. Such a frightening come back wasn't something many could imagine and at the helm of this comeback was only one person.... the New Lord of Maneru.
