Chapter 1

NARRATOR:- This story revolves around the period of joseon in Korea when king Gongmin was ruling and his first son Jang min was crown prince. This was time when a rajput warrior named Maan singh along with his wife and daughter Ajabdeha was on a voyage to Afghanistan but due to heavy storm and rain in the ocean they accidently reached Korea and later decided to serve the king (i.e Gongmin) of Korea there. Ajab's father taught her swordsmanship and other techniques of fighting so that she could protect the future king just like he is protecting the present one. Ajab skills were incredible and she fights really well she was good enough to beat a guy who was approximately 7 years older than her. She was loved by the king too. And moreover she speaks korean like a native.Years passed like this and now ajab was 15 years years old. Jang min was also 17 years old. He was brought up in the four walls of palace. He knew less about the outside world and the politics. One day Ajab's father passed away while protecting the king in a war. When she heard about it she was broken from inside but then she remembered one of rajput's saying "jo jang ma marta hai vo amar hojata hai" (in hindi) which means the warrior who dies in a war becomes immortal (lives in the heart of loved ones). After 3 months crown prince was attacked and he was brutally injured in it. King kept it a secret from everyone to prevent havoc in his countrymen. He cannot trust anyone in the palace except Maan singh's family so he decided to ask a favor from ajab.

KING (joung eun):- Ajab I know it's not a right time to say this but the danger on my son and the future king is increasing day by day and I cannot trust anyone except you in this cruel palace. Would you protect my son just like your father protected me?? I know I may be looking selfish but it's a request by a father and not by a king. Please think over it ajab.

AJAB:- Chohana(dear king in korean) I do not need to think over it. It is my duty to protect crown prince and I was trained from the childhood to protect him. I was eagerly waiting for this day to come. It would be my pleasure sir. But what about you then who will protect you??

KING :- I don't need protection anymore after all my day is coming near but the future of goryeo(earlier name of Seoul-capital of Korea) is at stake so kindly protect my son I beg of you…..

AJAB:- okay chohana as you say I will follow your command but I need a promise from your side….

KING:- What promise?? Okay but I will decide after hearing you

AJAB:- I want you to take full care of yours and have a guard to protect you.

KING:- yes I will try to keep the promise.

AJAB:-I may take my leave sir.

(Next morning king went to meet his son along with ajab)

KING :- Jang min never trust anybody in this palace except her.

JANG MIN:- but who is she and how can I trust her when I don't know who is she and how does she look.

(He said this because ajab was wearing a scarf on her face and she did not want to let anyone see who is protecting the prince)

AJAB: - It's for your protection only. If my face will be revealed in front of everybody then their first target would me and they will try to kill me at any cost and I don't want this to happen because if I die before you get on throne then there is 100% chance that they will kill you and try to destroy Goryeo.

Jang min:-but then how will I recognize her??

Ajab: - I m the only Hindustani (earlier name for Indians) here and further if you wanna call or order me just clap twice and I will be there.

Jang min: - just by the clap but how??

AJAB: - because I will always stay as your shadow. You will always find me at your back.

JANG MIN: - Okay we will see that.

AJAB: - I will come every morning for your training prince. So be ready.

(Next morning ajab went to crown prince quarters and they started training of sword fighting and all)

JANG MIN: - (while practicing) what if we end up in a situation where you have to choose between the live of mine and yours. Whose life would you choose hm…..??

AJAB: - it's of course yours prince.

JANG MIN: - there is a huge difference in saying and doing. Let's see what happens.

AJAB: - prince, I belong to rajput clan and rajputs action never betray their tongue. Prince I will die instead of not fulfilling my duty so you can trust me.

(Suddenly the sword in prince hands falls .Thus ajab won this time. The prince went to his quarters annoyingly.)

(at night jang min claps twice to see if she would come or not and ajab jumps from the rooftop suddenly. Jang min was shocked)

JANG MIN: - where were you and how did you came here??

(AJAB WHILE SMILING)

AJAB : - I told you I will be your shadow and shadow never leaves her master that's what I did.

JANG MIN: - That means you were always with me.

AJAB: - yes, I was always following your from the rooftop.

JANG MIN: - but I never noticed you how is this possible.

AJAB:- because I m your protector and I was trained from the childhood to protect and see you in secret.

JANG MIN: - then when do you sleep??

AJAB: - actually I m not the only one protecting you I have a partner and he watch over you when I need sleep.

JANG MIN: - oh! And if you can't tell your name can you tell me his??

AJAB: - I m sorry sir I can't. it's the command from the king that we can't reveal our identity to anyone not even you sir.

JANG MIN: - okay then at least tell me about you two.

AJAB : - okay. My father used to protect the king (i.e. your father) and I was trained from childhood onwards in martial arts and other techniques of fighting to serve you and the king. My partner is the son of my father's good friend and is my childhood friend also and he is also trained in martial arts. He also knows how to speak my mother tongue (i.e. Hindi).

JANG MIN: - hm... Does my father know that you are two and not one??

AJAB: - yes he knows.

JANG MIN: - then why didn't he tell me??

AJAB: - because he wants us to tell you.

JANG MIN: - and when can I meet the other one??

AJAB: - during afternoon time.

JANG MIN: - Now go back to the place you were hiding.

(He goes to sleep then. The next morning instead Ajab Kim sul- partner of ajab came to practice with him)

JANG MIN: - who are you. You don't look like her. How did you come here??

KIM SUL : - you are right I m not her. I m here partner didn't she tell you??

JANG MIN: - but she told me that I can see you only in afternoon.

KIM SUL: - yes I do but she has gone to run an errand for the king. That's why I m here.

JANG MIN: - okay so I m goanna practice with you. Before starting I must tell you that I m not that good in swords I even lost to a girl.

(kim sul laughingly)

KIM SUL: - you must be talking about Ajjjj..... Mmmm my partner. No one can beat her not even me I too losses from her she is the best.

JANG MIN: - were you goanna say her name??

KIM SUL : - (NERVERSOULY) nooo….

(They started practicing and the morning goes like this)

In the afternoon

JANG MIN: - hey where are you?? Come down. (Claps twice)

KIM SUL: - yes I m here do you need anything hm…??

JANG MIN: - umm…. Yes when is she goanna come back??

KIM SUL : - she said she will come back before the sun sets.

JANG MIN: - But the sun is going to set soon. When will she return?

KIM SUL : - I don't have any idea. Sorry prince.

JANG MIN: - before you go and she replaces you kindly tell me that she came back I need to ask her something.

KIM SUL : - okay prince.

(After few hours Ajab entered the prince's quarters secretly and asked all the court ladies and eunuch to leave with the king's order. Then she entered the prince's room without taking permission from him and shouted in pain)

JANG MIN: - how did you enter my room.

AJAB: - nichha aa ma upar nahi aa sakti.

(Translation: come down because I can't come up)

(kim sul came down. Jang min realized that it's his protector. Ajab was bleeding and her condition were not good seeing it jang min tried to call the doctor but Kim sul stopped him from doing it because they can't let anyone know about them. While all this was happening Ajab collapsed due to excessive bleeding and wound)
