Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: A Sudden Entrance

The Chill of the night could be felt in Kline's bones. He walked through the streets after collecting supplies from the grocery stores.

'Hmm, maybe I will make a stew'

He arrives home and opens the door only to be greeted with the same old silence. He lived alone, like most people his age. He left after his parents died at the age of 14, moving from care home to care home. They died of natural causes, nothing special. They weren't secret spies or agents, just normal folk found everywhere you look in the countryside. Despite all this, he managed to leave school with acceptable results well, enough to survive at least.

"Phew, what a tiring day"

Instead of making the stew, like Kline thought he would, He headed towards his bed and instantly fell asleep peacefully.

"AHHHHH"

At least that was the plan. A searing pain shot through his right arm. It felt as if every cell was being individually plucked from his arm the pain was forcing him to pass out but also forcing him to stay awake, a sadistic limbo.

After what seemed like an eternity, 15 minutes had passed. The searing pain slowly subsided while the remnants of pain still remained. Kline slowly dragged his body up and placed his back against the side of the bed he had fallen off of. He looked down at his numb right arm which now started to regain its sense of touch. A blue bar with the number [0%] was now present on his arm.

"*huff* The hell is this?"

Before Kline could inspect the blue arm that seemed like a loading screen anymore, *THUD* something knocked against his window. "I want to sleep..." *THUD* another knock. Kline slowly raised his body and while gripping his arm he slowly made his way towards the window. His left hand stopped gripping his right as most of the pain had now vanished and now moved towards the curtains. He slowly and cautiously moved the curtains to the side. His eyes shot open and any pain he had been in, suddenly disappeared as he quickly jumped back, falling into a backwards roll halfway through the jump. *BOOM*

A giant bird, twice the size of Kline, crashed through the window a second after Kline had jumped away. The bird had a large bronze beak and a furry red body. Its bloodshot eyes turned to face Kline. Saliva started to fall from its beak as it lunged towards Kline. Quickly, he rolled under the bed to the other side, the beak of the bird missing him by only a fraction of an inch. Kline quickly made his way towards the main door, in hopes of escaping. He jumped down the stairs as the bird crashed into furniture while quickly following behind him. The main door leading out of his house was blocked by what seemed like smaller versions of the bird. There were enough in front of the door, that the door itself was not visible. The Large bird behind him also jumped down the stairs, seeing the gap under it as it jumped, Kline ducked underneath it and ran towards the kitchen. The hallway leading towards the door was narrow with the stairs feeding into it, the bird was too big to turn around and chase after Kline. At least, that was what he thought. The bird used its beaks and spun into the wall on its left. Its beak shreds and breaks through the wall, but it wasn't with enough strength as the bird still hadn't managed to turn around. The bird, however, didn't stop as it once again rammed its beak into the wall. Meanwhile, Kline had finally managed to enter the kitchen he quickly grabbed a knife. His first initial thought was to break a window and escape, but...his kitchen had none. He quickly looked for a place to hide, under the table?... In the stove? CAWW! The bird slowly entered the kitchen with a scream, shaking the rubble off of its bright red fur. The bird slowly looked left and right and then continued forward further into the kitchen passed the fridge just right of the doorway. Step! Step! It could not spot the plain looking piece of meat anywhere. Step! Its body was now halfway through the doorway. It suddenly looked up only to see something slightly silvery fall towards its eye. CAWWWWWWW! The bird screamed. This is the first time in its life that it had ever felt so much pain. Kline grabbed the red fur with his left hand and continued to stab with the knife in his right. He lost every sense of reasoning, the only thing driving him was his will to survive. STAB! STAB! STAB! The bird continued to scream as it thrashed around wanting to survive. Kline instinctively knew that if he let go, he would most likely die. He continued to stab with the now dull knife. The thrashing slowed down, eventually coming to a stop. Kline now pushed the knife with both hands as it lodged itself into the bird's eye. He then once again slumped down to the floor, his hands covered in blood. "I really just want to sleep" A particle of light suddenly emerged in front of him. He reached out and tapped it out of pure curiosity. A sudden strength ran through his body all of a sudden. BANG! A noise that sounded like a gunshot could be heard outside, he suddenly remembered he had to move and get help. He got up to his feet but a blue light flashed from underneath all the blood covering him. He quickly washed his hands and under all the blood was a message.

[100%]

A flurry of questions still filled Kline's mind as he wondered what the thing on his arm is and what. was. going. on. The blue particles that came out from the bird must have contributed

He suddenly felt an onset of a headache that would threaten to rip his head in two. His Headache suddenly disappeared, as quick as it came. He felt energised stronger even. He pulled his shirt up and greeted the abdominal muscles (abs) which he had not met in a long time. He was by no means an 'attractive' man and his height was 5ft 11 so his only redeeming feature was his abs which he had also lost under fat a while ago. Snapping out of his thoughts, Kline grabbed another knife and pushed passed the corpse of the bird only to be with the sight of little birds still blocking the doorway. He looked down at the knife in his hands and knew what had to be done.

{30 minutes later}

[31%]

He had to have at least killed 40-50 but only managed to increase his percentage by 31. While he was doing so, muffled gunshots could still be heard outside. He opened the door after once again washing his hands and grabbing another knife. Opening the door caused him to be directly faced with what was happening outside. Buildings caught on fire, People running in the streets. Multiple RockFeller birds picking off and killing people. What seemed like Gorillas smashing the heads of everyone it saw, there were even monsters that just stayed watching by the side. People also attempted to fight back, but bullets only ricocheted off the beaks of the RockFellers, or they were dodged by the apes.

"What is Going on?"

The World began to change. It Began To Evolve.
