Yun struggled to stand after the sudden strikes from Bai Xieren. Thanks to her Dragon Aura the amount of corrosive energy driven into her body was reduced, but there was no way to completely remove it before it infected her at her current cultivation. Raging at herself for the lapse of vigilance, she finally managed to stand and deflect a few more blows from the chain while driving out the invasive energy.
Bai Xieren, on the other hand, had a heavy frown on his face as he saw Yun standing there knocking his chains away. He could tell he had succeeded at infecting her with the energy, but he wasn't seeing any discernible change in her energy levels. She certainly did not seem to be taking much energy to resist his special Poison law attack. Angry, Bai Xieren attacked even more fiercely than before, lashing his chains out as fast as he could to try and trap her, chain shadows even began to appear around them both, dissolute and wavering as if they were barely formed and insubstantial.
Seeing the chain shadows beginning to form made Yun even more desperate to finish this fight, she firmed her resolve and prepared to take drastic measures. Seeing the chain coming at her from one side, she stepped in and stored her personal spear before bringing out two of the Volvaka Hunter's spears. Reaching out with one of them, she twirled it slightly and wrapped the chain spike around the head between the blade and the small cross guard, then twisted it and shoved it into the arena floor, followed by the other spear so close to each other that she had successfully pinned that chain to the ground.
Retrieving her own spear again she began to take advantage of the situation, driving Bai Xieren back with her Dragon Aura and fierce strikes. Each time Bai Xieren struck out with his remaining chain it was slashed viciously out of the sky, and each time it was slashed the arc of the attack would continue on to his body. Yunlong was now attacking three or four times for each swing of the chain, and Bai Xieren's face was turning more and more black.
Refusing to be humiliated in such a way, Bai Xieren decided to use his final trump card, a strong skill that would weaken him for a few days. Deftly blocking Yunlong's slashes, he stored his energy, no longer feeding it into the spike, before his eyes lit up with an eerie green hue. Suddenly, from every pore on his body, a green fog began to flow out, seeking to surround Yunlong!
Chi chi chi chi chi chi!!!
The green fog collided with the edges of the Dragon Aura and began to emit strange sounds as it was consumed. The two auras battled so fiercely that the light emitted from the burning of the poison fog made it impossible for either fighter to see the other! It could be seen from the outside that the size of the impact area was shrinking, but so too was the size and density of the fog.
Fire consumed the fog bit by bit, but the fog also choked the flames and kept them from spreading. These two forces fought valiantly on the stage while both cultivators poured their energies into their skills. Just when it seemed like it was too soon to judge which of the two would succeed, the aura around Yunlong suddenly contracted to just over her own height, but then firmed and stopped shrinking entirely. She had reduced the amount of space she was fighting for in exchange for reducing her own energy consumption!
Within this smaller aura, the density of the heat energy skyrocketed. The links of the chain she had pinned to the stage were still beneath her feet, but they were beginning to glow red with the heat. Her own spear, while not becoming too hot, was also starting to warm up. Even the incredible heat dissipation ability of the strands of Immortal Wyrm shell couldn't keep up with this temperature! By comparison her armor and storage artifact didn't seem to care in the slightest, they both remained cool to the touch.
As the battlefield between the two auras changed it became more and more obvious that the size of his cloud was beginning to strain Bai Xieren's endurance heavily. He was sweating profusely and beginning to pant with the exertion. Thinking that the shrinking of the Dragon Aura was good news for him, he put even more energy into the attack only to discover that he could no longer budge the border of her aura. The density of the heat had become so high that the flashes of light were fading and his poison was directly turning to ash before it even reached the edge of her Dragon Aura!
As vision cleared and Yun became visible again it could be seen that the air around her was heavily distorted, but also that the chain beneath her was beginning to drip molten metal. This temperature was too high even for most weapons at the disciple level to withstand! Yunlong began to walk forward, her presence and pressure as a Neidan Forging expert beginning to weigh on Bai Xieren, whose foundation was not nearly as solid, and drove him back towards the edge of the stage in fear.
Splash!
The end of Bai Xieren's remaining chain fell from his hand and over the edge of the platform, alerting him to just how close he was to falling off himself. Panic began to form in his eyes, and unwillingness was there too. He was a powerful Poison laws cultivator! His laws were the most insidious laws and destroyed the strength of others! How could he be pushed back like this after having infected his opponent with his Poison energies multiple times?
Unwilling!
Too unwilling!
He roared to the sky and drew in his poison cloud, forming it into the shape of a javelin and throwing it towards Yun!
This javelin began to encroach on the Dragon Aura, but it also began to dissolve into ash as it tried to penetrate the field of energy. Yun began to pour the last of her energy into the Dragon Aura, and it began to expand slightly again. The concentration of energy began to turn the air itself white and little bursts of flame began to light up around her as the air combusted! Focusing her energy forward, she began to deform her aura and push it forward. Her flagging energy, barely sustained by her will, began to quickly devour the javelin until it was finally completely gone!
Nearly exhausted of her energy, she withdrew her Dragon Aura and slashed out with her spear one last time, forcing the exhausted Bai Xieren to step back in fright right into empty air! His face turned completely black as he tumbled ungraciously off the platform into the water.
"Bai Xieren has fallen from the stage and has thus lost this battle. Huli Yunlong is the victor and will proceed to the next battle to face Fang Niu."
