Obviously Haruka was going to keep the secret about meeting the yōkai. To be fair, a normal person would try to get the yōkai on video camera, then tell the authorities and such. Haruka found that pointless, and also a hassle to go all the way to report it. Needless to say, people would probably think that she was insane. Even video graphic and photographic proof could be doctored nowadays.
Kurei didn't kill her as well. In fact, he saved her. Haruka didn't understand the extent of
yōkai's powers, but she definitely did not want to try to question, let alone test them. She had seen it firsthand for herself, and even nearly got herself killed in the process.
Not to mention, if Kurei wanted to kill her, he would have just done so at the moment she discovered his yōkai forme.
Nonetheless, she was just very grateful towards the fox demon.
As she was letting her thoughts drift, her cellphone suddenly sounded, snapping her back to reality. It was a text message from Nanako.
'Haruka-chan! Next time if you were gonna go home first, you should have let me know! ( ̄^ ̄)'
Ah! Wasn't she the one who left first..?
But she didn't want to raise any suspicion towards Nanako, let alone drag her into this mess.
'ah I'm so sorry! I had an emergency call from home, so I had to leave...'
Her fingers slid over send, a wave of guilt slowly flooded in.
it's alright! I knew that. haha. A small blond child in a white kimono approached me, and told me he saw you rush off in a hurry. So I figured.
A small child...with blond hair.... and a white kimono...?
Shirotani!
'fair enough! Once again, I'm sorry for suddenly disappearing. I'll cook you a bento on Monday.'
'done and deal! You better not back out!'
Haruka sighed in relief. Thankfully that was averted. She slumped back against the spine of her chair, wondering what to do on a cloudy Saturday morning.
Go to the shrine?
Haruka blinked. Why was that thought the first thing that suddenly popped into her head? There wasn't a reason to go to the shrine honestly.
Then again, it was not like the shrine was very far from her home.
'Oh right. I've yet to receive my blessings for the new year!'
Haruka stood in front of the shrine's gates, sighing to herself. In the end, she still decided to go to the shrine.
Something in her chest gave her heart a tight squeeze, she was sure that it was probably nervousness.
She took a step into the shrine, looking around cautiously, her body walking towards the alters, but her mind subconsciously looking for a certain fox demon. However it seemed like the shrine was silent enough to hear a pin drop.
As she tossed a coin into the crate and clapped her hands into a praying stance, a familiar voice echoed out to her.
"You again!"
