"Please, Marry me Alina!" I said.
She looks so lost in her thoughts. I nudged her lightly, she looked at me and stared in my eyes and again she was lost.
"Alina, are you ok?" I tried again but it's as if she couldn't listen to me.
I can see her expressions change but she isn't responding.
I tried again, "Alina, please say something."
She looked at me, stood up and fainted. Luckily, I held her before she could fall on ground.
I took her to our apartment which we were to live in after our wedding.
After examining her situation, her doctor wasn't sure of what happened to her. We were just waiting for her to gain consciousness.
After about 4 hours,
She opened her eyes. She saw the ceiling and closed her eyes again.
"Aaaaaahhhh", she screamed and sat looking terrified.
The doctor nudged me to talk to her.
"Alina, how are you feeling?"
She just kept looking at me.
"Is it our home?" She asked me.
"Home!", My voice was no more than a whisper.
The doctor just went forward seeing my inability to react.
"Alina, what do you remember?" Asked the doctor.
She kept looking at me and then turned to the doctor and said, "I'm fine."
The doctor checked her and took her leave.
I came back and sat on bed beside her. She was leaning on the bedpost. I took her hand in mine and she didn't resist. I looked at her.
"Please, tell me the truth." Said she while looking in my eyes.
"Alina... I..." I felt defeated at her plead.
She held my hand with both of hers.
"I know we were close to each other, but why can't I remember it?" She asked.
"Baby, we were together when we met with an accident. And that's when you lost your memory.. of me." I clarified her being very careful as to not give her any sort of stress.
"I don't even remember the accident. Mom says it was 2 years ago. Was it?" She asked curiously.
"Yes. It was nearly 2 years ago." I lied.
"But I cannot find any news article on my accident. I searched every accident article of 2years back. Can you explain this?" She caught my lie as always.
"I think it's enough for you to know for today." I ended the conversation by leaving her hands. I kissed her on her forehead before leaving the room.
But,
I froze when I heard my name from her. Did she remember my name as well.. I have to know what more has she recalled.
