"Let's get out," Ms. Wang whispered and pushed Martina's back.
"Wait, Auntie. I need to take one for my instant camera," she said, and quickly took a photo of the love scene. Then, they headed out.
It was like they were warching a movie, a live one. They felt so lucky and the college student felt so envious somehow since she never had anyone to do that with.
Artemis' mind almost went black. She almost give in. The kiss made her mind sent to Cloud nine, her heart was beating fast, and her knees gone weak. She never had any real kiss in her whole life. The kiss she had were all in movies. It was when she was still an actress. Yes, some were intimate. But it was all for the sake of their taping.
But Markus' kiss was different from those. She wasn't acting, they were not. And she was not a celebrity already. So the kiss was a real thing for her.
But she needed to think straight. They're not the only ones in the room.
She pulled him away through his chest. She couldn't even look at him in the eyes. She's too embarrassed.
"Oh, they're gone? I thought we're taking some photos," Markus suddenly said.
Then, it all sank in in her head. The atmosphere between them suddenly changed. From sweet atmosphere to gloomy atmosphere.
For photoshoot. That kiss was all for it. So, did he kissed her because he thought it was a necessity for the company? Didn't he heard what I said him to not do again before that kiss?
Without second thoughts, she slapped him hard on the face. She was angry. How dare him to play her?
Markus got quite shocked with the slap. He never thought it would be painful. She wouldn't win a Global Award for Best Drama Actress if she weren't. Though he expected it from the beginning he thought of kissing her.
"You, Mr. Reyes," she called, glaring at him. "Who gave you the permission to do that? Don't you know who I am and what you are? Huh?"
She continued glaring at him, but he didn't even budge. He didn't even bother himself to say sorry to her right away.
Talking about rudeness. She forgot that he was rude from the beginning.
And it only made her furious.
"Look at me, Mr. Reyes," she commanded, her authoritative voice was evident. "You're only my secretary and bodyguard and I'm the vice president of the company you are working with. So if you don't want to get fired, if I say no, that means no. My word is the law. Please, put that in your mind," she ended and walked out.
She went straight to her room and locked the door. She didn't want any disturbance.
A tear suddenly fell from her eye. She immediately wiped it.
What was she crying all about? That rude jerk didn't deserve any of her tears. He was only one of those asshole who could dare to bully the weaker ones.
And who's she? She's the vice president of the AC Apparel. No need to cry for some useless things.
She was wronged to even give him good descriptions when she it didn't even fit his personality.
"Miss Diana?" Martina knocked.
"...What is it?" she said in a low voice. She wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone when she was still angry. She might talked badly to an innocent person.
"I bring over your clothes,"
She gazed down on what she was wearing. She's still in a wedding dress, of course. She breathed and exhaled slowly to get her anger out of her system, and opened the door.
"Mr. Reyes said you needed to go to the bathroom, so he told me to bring this over here," she explained.
She received the clothes. "Thanks,"
She was about to close the door when she said something.
"Say, are you going home today?"
Artemis glanced at her innocent eyes. Sadness was hinted on it. And she didn't want to leave her like a snob person. She needed to act. She was her fan anyways.
She tried to put a smile. "Yes, because I really need to go to work."
"That's so sad. I was waiting to have more talk with you,"
She rested her hand on Martina's shoulder. "Don't worry. You can visit me anytime in the city and if permitted, I'd like to visit here often," she tried to convince her so she won't feel sad.
Her eyes brightened in an instant. "Really? Can I do that? Can I visit you?"
Artemis nodded and she exploded with joy. Before Martina left her, she gave something to her. It was a small picture.
"By the way, this is the only picture I took using my instant cam," she handed it. It was the picture of Markus kissing her, but since it was taken far, that the kiss was not that evident.
She bitterly smiled, but shs washed it off her face right away. "Thanks,"
After getting changed, she prepared her things and went out. They needed to go back as early as possible since she still have more things to do at her office.
Actually, she could leave without Markus since it was her car but her father might wonder.
Ms. Wang, on the other hand, was sad that they'd leave early. They didn't even stay until lunch.
"Thank you very much for everything. I'm hoping for your appearance on our 30th anniversary show. It'll also be my parents' wedding anniversary," she thanked as she invited them also.
"I will as long as I'm invited," she laughed. "I'll send the gowns by Monday and perhaps, we can meet?"
"It'll be my pleasure. And thank you so much again. I am also counting to see you again, Martina."
"Of course, I'll be there when auntie Wang visits you,"
"Then, we will go now." They bid farewell for the last time and went outside.
Inside the car, they were quiet. Artemis was still waiting for his apology before she'd decide to fire him. But he seemed not to have any plans to do so.
'What an asshole...' she said in her mind.
It'll be another five hours of travel. Her father called her to check up on her. It was only a brief call. Then next, she received a call coming from Chris. It was quite a long call since they were talking about work. Somehow, her enthusiasm for work came back. Thanks to Chris.
"So, how about a dinner tonight to treat me? I've done a great job for you," Chris jokingly suggested. Instead of handling the text messages, Chris already worked on it already.
"A dinner with you? Seriously?"
"Come on, Artemis. You haven't even treated me ever since you became the vice president of the company,"
"So you're saying it's an obligatory to treat you?"
"A sort of," he laughed.
She sighed. "Sure. A dinner is fine. You can choose which restaurant and I'll just be your credit card,"
He heard him laugh even more. "That works on me. See ya,"
She hummed in agreement and ended the call. Her eyes darted on Markus's back. Markus glanced at her on the mirror as if he knew she was looking at him. She just raised her eyebrows and looked outside her window.
"Asshole," she purposefully mouthed.
