The two of them decided to go back to sleep after they finished the food platter and woke up around the afternoon. Ha Eun's eyes fluttered open and in a matter of seconds, she was already in a panic. She never managed to get her phone last night and had forgotten to call Jin Hyeok to make sure everything was alright with work.
"Where is it?" she whispered as she glanced all over the room to see a hint of her bag. Of course, she remained in bed because she still couldn't move her legs. Chang Wook on the other hand was smiling at her panicking expression because he made it his mission to hide her bag with her phone. He of course made sure to call Mr. Oh and let him know that Ha Eun would be taking a little vacation. Mr. Oh smiled over the phone and agreed to take care of everything while Chang Wook would take care of her.
"Don't worry, your phone is safe," Chang Wook told Ha Eun.
Ha Eun rolled her eyes at him. So, he was the culprit! "I should have known," Ha Eun said, "You are impossible." Ha Eun placed her hands over her eyes and then combed back her hair.
"Come on, lay back down," Chang Wook told her. Ha Eun did as she was told, and Chang Wook wrapped his arm around her as they cuddled.
Suddenly there was a knock at the door.
"Are you two going to keep sleeping all day?" Ha Eun opened her eyes in shock. She recognized that voice anywhere. It was Soo Ryun, Chang Wook's grandmother.
"I've brought you guys some lunch," that was Mi Do's voice, Chang Wook's mother. Ha Eun remembered that the last time this happened, the two of them panicked because they weren't in a romantic relationship at the time and they had to fake a relationship. This time Ha Eun was panicking because she wasn't dressed to meet his family. She didn't want them to think she is shameless for seducing their son to do such indecent things.
Chang Wook could tell what Ha Eun was thinking. His parents knew what happened in this room, after all, it was only natural for a husband and wife to do such things, especially after they'd been separated for so long. If anything, they encourage it.
"The door's unlocked. Come in," Chang Wook said as he enjoyed watching Ha Eun with a panicked expression. She hid under the covers and in came Soo Ryun and Mi Do, holding a tray of food. It consisted of bowls of rice, with other side dishes as well as two glasses of water.
"I'm sure you two will need this," Soo Ryun gestured at the cups of water and winked at Chang Wook. He had to say, he felt a little embarrassed about his grandmother acting like this. "Oh my, is the poor girl still sleeping?" Soo Ryun looked over at the lump on the left side of Chang Wook. The only thing you could see of Ha Eun was her hair.
Chang Wook couldn't help but chuckle, "Yeah, she's still sleeping," he said.
"Poor thing, she must have been overworked," Mi Do said. Chang Wook couldn't help but think that she was indeed overworked, just not due to her job, "Chang Wook you better make sure she takes care of herself."
"I'll take care of her, don't worry," he told her. Mi Do smiled.
Soo Ryun also smiled but it was because she knew Ha Eun wasn't sleeping but was hiding under the covers. She did that as well when she was younger "Ah, to be young," Soo Ryun said. Mi Do looked at her confused and Chang Wook could only look down slightly embarrassed but smiled, nonetheless. "We'll be downstairs if you need anything," Soo Ryun added. The two women left, and Ha Eun emerged from underneath the covers.
"Are they gone?" Ha Eun asked.
"You can't avoid them forever. You're going to have to say hi when you go downstairs," Chang Wook told her.
Ha Eun could tell by Chang Wook's smile that he was teasing her, "Easy for you to say. Put yourself in my shoes. What would you do if we were at my father's house, and he suddenly walked into the room with us like this?" she asked. Chang Wook's smile slowly faded as he was overcome with a sense of dread. He'd be so embarrassed he couldn't even look Mr. Oh in the eye. "Now, you know how I feel," Ha Eun said.
.....
After they ate Ha Eun wanted to take a shower, she didn't want to look like how she did now when she meets her in-laws again. Chang Wook told her he would call Mi Jin to get her some spare clothes. Ha Eun felt slightly uncomfortable with all of this. If she had known she would spend the night, she would have prepared better.
"Should we shower together?" Chang Wook asked her. Ha Eun threw a pillow at him.
"I know what you're planning on doing once we're in here," Ha Eun said as she walked towards the bathroom.
"Yes. You," he said so matter-of-factly that it made Ha Eun blush. "I promise I'll be gentle so, let me join you," Chang Wook added as he rubbed his hands together while biting his lip. Ha Eun's interest in his proposal quickly went down the drain as she closed the door loudly. Chang Wook couldn't help but laugh. He was indeed teasing her but a part of him was serious.
Chang Wook called Mi Jin and waited downstairs for her to come by. When there was a knock on the door, he was greeted by a man in a suit.
"Good morning Mr. Kim. I am Nam Jin Hyeok. President Lee's secretary. It's a pleasure to finally meet you," the man said as he reached out his hand to shake Chang Wook's. Chang Wook on the other hand was shocked. Ha Eun had a handsome assistant! Not to mention that he seemed very capable. The thought that Ha Eun would leave him for this capable secretary quickly crept into his mind.
"Good morning, Chang Wook!" Mi Jin said happily. She was behind this tall handsome man and to his surprise, the two of them were holding hands.
"What…what's going on here?" Chang Wook was confused. He didn't know Mi Jin was seeing anyone, especially Ha Eun's new secretary.
Mi Jin chuckled, "We met yesterday, and we just kind of clicked." The two of them came inside and Mi Jin looked around to see if Ha Eun was there, "Did you two manage to make up?" she asked. Mi Jin then face-palmed "Duh, she wouldn't be needing extra clothes if you two didn't." Chang Wook would be acting embarrassed right about now but he was still stuck on the fact that Mi Jin had just met this man yesterday and the two were already this far into their relationship. Did Mi Jin by chance blackmail him?
"Are you okay?" Chang Wook asked Jin Hyeok as he pointed at Mi Jin.
"Trust me, I don't normally do this but the two of us talked and we surprisingly had a lot in common," Jin Hyeok said. Chang Wook couldn't understand. The two of them look like they have nothing in common. Jin Hyeok looked like the cold and distant type while Mi Jin is a hugger and a free spirit.
"Oh, I get it now," Chang Wook said. These two are polar opposites and as the saying goes, opposites attract. But still, isn't this just too fast?
"But how is this going to work? Mi Jin, he lives in Soul and I doubt he'll quit his job and live here."
"I'm moving to Soul for my new job."
"Hold on, since when did you get a new job?"
"Chang Wook!" Ha Eun yelled from upstairs. Mi Jin took that as her cue to get out of that conversation and rush to Ha Eun to give her, her clothes.
While in the room together Ha Eun asked her, "So, how did things go with Jin Hyeok?"
"I confessed to him," Mi Jin said. Ha Eun was awe-struck. Who confesses to someone they don't even know? "He obviously rejected me but through some debating and convincing, I managed to get him to date me for half a year. If he doesn't like me by then, we'll separate amicably."
"Your life sounds like a drama," Ha Eun said, "But, I hope things go well. Jin Hyeok is a very capable secretary."
"You're just going to say, capable secretary? Normally someone would say they're a great guy. Don't you know anything about him?"
"I don't know him enough to judge his character. He is blunt though. Incredibly so that I've thought about firing him," Ha Eun said thinking back to the times he's talked back to her. "Anyways, good luck."
The two went downstairs and Jin Hyeok quickly approached her with information concerning the company and everything that she's missed since last night. Which was a lot.
"Jin Hyeok. She's on vacation right now. How about we don't talk work while we're here?" Chang Wook asked. Jin Hyeok cleared his throat and apologized.
Mi Do and Soo Ryun entered the living room and Ha Eun's heart dropped. She didn't know what to say. Soo Ryun suddenly approached her and gave her a big hug.
"Thank you for taking care of our Wookie," Soo Ryun said.
"We thought that you left him, and we were upset but thanks to Eun Ha we knew what you were doing for him," Mi Do said as she joined in on the hug.
"You know, if you needed help you could have just told us," Han Soo, Chang Wook's dad entered the room. "We're not as helpless as we might look. We have as much power and money as your company little lady." Han Soo was scolding her but also comforting her at the same time. At first, he didn't approve of this marriage but as time went by he was all for it. Seeing how much Chang Wook loved her and what Ha Eun was doing to protect him made him glad that he approved of the marriage. He was sure that Ha Eun was the best thing that ever happened to his son. And Chang Wook was the best thing that ever happened to her.
Han Soo joined in on the hug and so did Chang Wook. Mi Jin felt left out so she went in for a hug as well. Jin Hyeok didn't know these people well enough to hug them, so he decided to remain a few feet away while feeling slightly uncomfortable. He felt like a third wheel or in this case a 7th wheel. Mi Jin noticed him feeling slightly uncomfortable, so she left the hug to hug him, thinking he wanted to be hugged too. He felt uncomfortable but seeing Mi Jin smile at him made him think it wasn't that bad. He still didn't like her though.
"Alright, that's enough hugging," Soo Ryun said. "Now, why don't you two go out and have some fun? I think it's been a while since the two of you have had an actual date," Soo Ryun winked, and Ha Eun and Chang Wook. Ha Eun looked down with a smile while Chang Wook scratched the back of his head feeling slightly guilty that he didn't take her on a lot of dates after they got married. Of course, there was the Woo Yeon situation but before that.
"Well, shall we, milady?" Chang Wook asked as he did a light bow and reached out for Ha Eun's hand. She smiled and took it.
"We shall," Ha Eun said. The two left the house. The people there cringed at the sweetness.
"Yep, they definitely did it," Mi Jin said. The others nodded.
