Ha Eun woke up to a sleeping Chang Wook next to her. He had a smile on his face and his arm on her waist "You better not be dreaming of any lewd things," she whispered.
She got up from the bed and went to do her morning routine. She hadn't exercised for a while, and she was starting to feel like she was gaining weight.
She got dressed to work-out but once outside, she smelled food cooking. She ran downstairs and saw Eun Ha cooking.
"What the hell are you doing?" Ha Eun asked her.
"Good morning, I'm making breakfast," Eun Ha said.
"How old are you?! You shouldn't be cooking! You have to leave that to adults!" Ha Eun yelled at pushed Eun Ha away from the stove.
"I've been making food since I was five" Eun Ha told her "And besides, the least I can do is cook for unnie and ahjussi. You took me in when you didn't have to and also took me to an amusement park." Eun Ha looked down; a bit embarrassed.
Ha Eun didn't know what to do in this situation. Should she expose the little girl to the dangers of first degree burns or kick her out of the kitchen? She didn't want the girl to cook, but she also wanted to eat the food, but she had to exercise, and Chang Wook wasn't awake yet.
"Is this what having a kid is like?" Ha Eun asked. Eun Ha didn't know how to answer that question.
"Fine. Finish what you were doing, then get ready for school. Once you're ready, let me know so I can call the driver." Ha Eun left the kitchen to go work out.
Chang Wook opened his eyes to find himself alone in Ha Eun's bedroom. He could smell food and wondered if Ha Eun had cooked. He went downstairs to find Eun Ha sitting alone in the dining room, eating breakfast with two other plates as well as sides at each side of the table, next to her.
She seemed a bit sad as she ate. He wondered where Ha Eun was.
"Good morning," Chang Wook said to Eun Ha. She looked up and smiled at him.
"Good morning, ahjussi. Would you like some breakfast?" Eun Ha asked him.
He looked at her with a saddened expression but still smiled "So she was sad because she had no one to eat with" he thought to himself. Chang Wook isn't much for eating breakfast, but he felt a bit sorry for her.
"Did you make all this?" he asked her. Eun Ha nodded "Oh. Such a dependable little girl."
Ha Eun appeared in her work out clothes, and she was sweating, "You two are eating without inviting me?" Ha Eun asked disappointedly, "If you two were eating, you should have called me."
"I didn't want to bother you," Eun Ha said.
"That's the stupidest reason, not to invite someone to eat, I've ever heard," Ha Eun said with a serious expression.
"Ha Eun!" Chang Wook said.
"And you too. I can forgive Eun Ha since this is her first time in this house, but you've been here longer. You should have looked for me!"
"How is this my fault?" Chang Wook asked, "I just woke up."
Eun Ha started to laugh "Unnie. Sit down. I'll pour you a glass of orange juice" Eun Ha told her. Ha Eun sighed and sat down.
…
Once the three were ready to go the headed outside. The driver was already waiting for them.
"I can take the bus," Eun Ha said.
"I will not let someone that lives in my home take the…BUS" Ha Eun shuddered when she said bus.
When they were arriving at Eun Ha's school, she asked them to stop farther away from the school and that she could walk the whole way. Ha Eun raised an eyebrow at her then she told the driver to stop in front of the school gates.
"No! I can walk the rest of the way," Eun Ha said.
In front of the school gate, Eun Ha noticed how everyone looked at the car, wondering who was inside. This school was made for children of important people such as kids of government officials. Kids here would not only learn, but they would also make connections that would help them on later in life.
"You go to a very prestigious school," Chang Wook said surprised.
"How can you afford to go here?" Ha Eun asked. Chang Wook rubbed his forehead. Another thing she shouldn't ask a child.
"Scholarship," Eun Ha said.
"You must have a hard time here," Ha Eun said. Eun Ha looked down.
"And now I'm going to have a worse time because you stopped in front of the school gate."
"You don't seem to understand where I'm going with this. You have a chance to show these people that you are connected to very important people. I'm giving you a chance to for the first time, show off and walk with your head held high" Ha Eun told her.
She saw Eun Ha in herself. Even when she was adopted into the Oh family, she was still bullied in school, but she wasn't going to let kids bully Eun Ha.
Eun Ha smiled and was about to open the door when Ha Eun stopped her. She undid the two ponytails which Eun Ha had braided "You look like a four-year-old with this" Ha Eun said. Then she took off Eun Ha's glasses "From 1 to 10, how much do you need to use these glasses? One being they are just for show and ten being you need them to live."
"Well, I can live without glasses but…" Eun Ha wasn't finished with her sentence when Ha Eun placed them in her bag.
"I'll get you new glasses. Very Chic ones. Now go." Ha Eun told her.
Eun Ha opened the car door. Some of the kids widened their eyes as they noticed it was Scholarship Eun Ha. What was she doing inside a luxury car?
Some parents wondered if Eun Ha's dead beat mother got herself a wealthy lover and they were about to start some rumors when they noticed a beautiful woman come out of the car right after Eun Ha.
"Have fun at school!" Ha Eun told her. She then noticed all the people looking at them. She decided to say the next thing loudly, "And remember, if anyone makes fun of you, I'll make sure that's the last thing they say."
The parents and children that listened were frightened by what Ha Eun said. The kids were wondering what that woman would do to them if they bullied Eun Ha, the parents wondered who this woman, with an enormous amount of confidence, was and how powerful she could be to threaten them and their children so publicly.
"Now. What happens next, is all up to you" Ha Eun whispered to Eun Ha.
She got back inside the car, and the couple headed to work.
