During the ride Chang Wook didn't tell Ha Eun where they were going. They passed house after house, building after building until it was nothing but pure green fields. It was the middle of nowhere. There wasn't anyone for miles and there weren't even lamposts.
Ha Eun thought that this was the perfect place to bury a body "Are you planning to kill me?" she asked Chang Wook. He chuckled.
"Don't worry, we're almost there" he said.
They suddenly stopped in front of a cemetery. Ha Eun was surprised by this. Chang Wook opened the car door for her, and they made their way all to a grave stone. Ha Eun read the name "Hyuk Jae"
Ha Eun remembered Min Jin tell her a bit about him. It saddened her that Chang Wook had to experience such a horrible accident.
"This is my best friend" Chang Wook told her. Ha Eun didn't even know the boy and see his picture but Chang Wook's words made her want to cry.
"Mi Jin told me about him" she said "I'm so sorry" Chang Wook smiled at her but there was a deep sadness in his eyes.
"The last thing he said to me was 'when you get yourself a girlfriend, you better introduce her to me first'" Chang Wook said while looking at the grave stone "I got myself a wife before getting a girlfriend but, I think both apply to you"
Chang Wook nudged Ha Eun to the side with a smile. After she didn't say anything on what he did, he feared looking at her because he didn't know what kind of expression she had on her face. He hoped that she took it as a way of teasing rather than trying to bully her.
Ha Eun started to learn how to differentiate between when he tried to bully her and when he teased her. Both were pretty similar but this time it was a teasing. She got closer to him and shoved him back. She pushed him too much that he lost his balance. If he was going to tease her she was going to tease back.
He's wanted to find out whether Ha Eun truly liked him or not but actions such as this one, makes it hard to tell. There's a difference between romantic teasing and friendly teasing. Could he take this action as her liking him? He wants to scratch his head and groan his frustration.
If a girl liked a guy she wouldn't shove him so hard that he could fall and break his neck…right?
Ha Eun laughed at Chang Wook. She looked down at the gravestone and said, "It's a pleasure to meet you Hyuk Jae" she paused to smile at Chang Wook, then looked back down "I promise to treasure Chang Wook for as long as we're married."
Chang Wook got worried by her words. Does that mean that once they get a divorce she'll stop being so close to him and act like she doesn't even know him? Does that mean the kiss they shared while they danced was just something to seal their deal?
Ha Eun hoped that her words would give Chang Wook a hint that she would like to be married to him for longer than a few months but sadly, she had given him the wrong idea.
Chang Wook moved those thoughts to the back of his mind. He's here to introduce her to his friend, not worry about their relationship status.
"Hyuk Jae, you won't believe the mess this girl made just to get me to marry her" Chang Wook chuckled.
"Don't listen to him, he was the one that made things difficult for me" Ha Eun hit Chang Wook on the arm.
They remained there a while as they talked about their experience after Ha Eun said they were getting married.
It felt like their deal was made years ago.
Now they wondered, what would be in store when they got back home.
...
When they returned to the house, it was filled with even more people and there was even a band in the backyard.
The couple would have liked to stay and chat with everyone as well as enjoy the party, but they had to go to the airport.
Chang Wook's family drove them to the aiport. The couple felt bad that Do Mi had to leave her own birthday party, but she didn't mind. She had no idea when she'd see her son again.
When they were finally at the plane's gate it was time for goodbyes.
"It was nice meeting all of you" Ha Eun told them. Do Mi and Soo Ryun hugged her.
Han Soo walked over to his son and hugged him. Chang Wook felt a bit uncomfortable. It's been years since he was hugged by his father.
"What are you? A statue? Hug me back!" Han Soo ordered his son. Chang Wook let out a scoff and hugged his father.
After the hug they looked at each other but felt awkward "Come home more often. Your mother already misses you" Han Soo told his son. Chang Wook nodded.
Chang Wook and Ha Eun held hand as they walked inside the plane's gate. Chang Wook and Ha Eun though, didn't know who initiated the hand holding. It's like it happened naturally.
Neither knew when it was an appropriate time to let go either, so they went all the way into the plane and took their seats while still holding hands.
"This is too weird!" Chang Wook yelled at himself "I have to let go but I don't want her to get the wrong idea!"
Ha Eun was freaking out as well "My hand is so sweaty. Why hasn't he let go? Should I let go? I don't want him to get the wrong idea!"
"I have to use the bathroom" Ha Eun told Chang Wook. Chang Wook nodded, and they let go of each other's hands. As she left Chang Wook started to freak out again.
"She came up with a bathroom excuse just so I would let go of her hand!" he placed his hands over his face "She must think I'm such a loser!"
Ha Eun went to the bathroom but of course she didn't need to go, she just needed and excuse to let go of his hand, but she was freaking out in the bathroom "Oh my God, I came up with such a stupid excuse! He must think I'm a horrible person!" she covered her mouth and let out a scream, she looked at herself in the mirror.
"I am so stupid" she told herself as she looked in the mirror.
"I am so stupid" Chang Wook said to himself on the seat as he waited for her.
They were going to get off at Seoul in a few hours, they were no longer going to play a happy couple. It was back to reality. It was back to work and seeing his coworkers…Now he was panicking again. What was his friend going to say? What is everyone going to say?
Now he freaked out even more when he thought… "I…I have to meet Ha Eun's parents!"
