Ha Eun was forcefully awoken from her sleep by having been moved back and forth and being told to wake up.
She opened her eyes and slapped the person that moved her, worried that she was getting attacked. As her vision got accustomed to her surroundings, she noticed it was only Chang Wook.
"Ow!" he said as he moved away form the bed. Ha Eun yawned.
"What do you want?" she asked, still sleepy.
"We seriously need to talk about your hitting habits" he said "Its not healthy"
Ha Eun shrugged, then closed her eyes to go back to sleep.
"Hey, I'm talking" he pushed her to make her open her eyes once more.
"And I'm not interested in listening"
Chang Wook sighed. He felt they had a moment last night but she's back to her annoying self.
"We're going on a date" he said. Ha Eun widened her eyes, sat up on the bed and looked at him confused. Did he mean and actual date? Or was he just taking her out somewhere?
They are still in his parents house and she's worried that Han Soo might still be skeptical of their relationship so acting like a couple might be a good thing. She looked over at the clock and saw it was 5 in the morning.
"it's 5 in the morning!" Ha Eun told him.
"So? Do't you tend to wake up at this hour"
"Yeah, for work. If you haven't noticed, I'm not working" Ha Eun lays back down on her pillow and closes her eyes.
After a while of silence Chang Wook says "Ok" he had the whole day planned out. Tomorrow they were going to be a married couple, at least enjoy their day together as a single couple…if that makes sense.
Ha Eun didn't need to open her eyes to see how disappointed he was. She opens her eyes and sits up on the bed again "Fine. I'll do it" she says. Chang Wook smiles. "Where are we going?"
"One work. Hiking" he said. Ha Eun widened her eyes.
"Denied" Ha Eun didn't hesitate to answer.
"Why not?" he was confused. First she said no, then she said yes and now she's rejecting him again?
"One word. Exhausting" she said, "Why don't we just rent a movie and stay here instead?"
"I swear, you can sure suck the fun out of a room" he was disappointed again. Ha Eun didn't like that face, it made her worry that he might dislike her. As he turns around to leave the room she sighs and stops him.
"Fine. I'll do it" she says.
"No take backs" Chang Wook said. Ha Eun nodded.
...
The mountain was beautiful. Ha Eun couldn't deny it, but after a while she was already tired. There's a difference between exercising at home and doing it in public. Surprisingly, there weren't many people, so Chang Wook was able to take beautiful pictures…of Ha Eun.
She wasn't aware of his picture many times but the few times she did, she only thought he was taking a picture of the mountain.
Chang Wook ran over to her and took a selfie of both of them together. He sent it to Ha Eun.
"Why did you send it to me?"
"You should at least have one picture of us as a fake couple" he told her as he moved past her. Ha Eun looked at the picture, a slight smile formed across her face "The one you took of us against my will doesn't count" he added.
That just made her smile disappear "I took it because of rumors that started to circle around about our relationship being fake"
"But, it is fake"
"Yeah, but we don't want the world to know that"
Ha Eun looked back at the picture. She thought they looked good together.
As they kept on walking Chang Wook said "We look good together" exactly what Ha Eun was thinking. She widened her eyes quickly looking up at Chang Wook. He felt as if he shouldn't have said that.
"I mean, the picture looks nice. If you want to post it on your social media, you can do it"
"That means more people will know who you are" Ha Eun said "Everyone only knows that you work with me, they don't know anything else. Surprisingly, it hasn't leaked out yet"
Chang Wook thought about it and shrugged. He didn't mind being called Ha Eun's husband, deep down, he wanted to know what it would feel like to be called her husband.
"I don't mind" he said "After all, we'll get divorced in a few months anyways" he added. Ha Eun lowered her head and agreed. Chang Wook hated how he was always saving himself from these awkward situations. What would happen if he actually just said what he thought and let Ha Eun figure it out? He wondered but, he feared what her answer would be so all he could do was joke about it.
While hiking, they made a few stops to take a breath and continue up the mountain.
On one of their stop Ha Eun decided to post the picture of them together and in an instant there were hundreds of likes and comments.
People commented on how they were relationship goals. Ha Eun chuckled at this. Is going up a mountain with your significant other really a relationship goal? She showed Chang Wook and he was impressed at how many people liked them together.
A few comments later he read someone post that they went to the same university as him and the posted his social media as well as some information. Other people commented that they studied with him and said that many girls found him attractive back then, but he was a cowards because he never made a move on them.
"Now I know why he never made a move, he had his eyes set on an heiress"
"He's actually her secretary"
"What a gigolo"
Comments started pouring, everyone started talking about him.
Ha Eun quickly took her phone from him and put it in her pocket. Chang Wook seemed a little down. He picked up his things and continued forward. Ha Eun was right behind him. The thought that she might have ruined his life, ran across her mind once again. She tried to change the subject to maintain the nice atmosphere they had a while ago.
"You know, an average couple would go out to eat or even go to the beach, but us…no…we have to go up a mountain" Ha Eun chuckled. Although Chang Wook didn't turn back, he still smiled.
"We're not an average couple. We skipped the dating and went straight to marriage" he said "Also, you keep complaining but its not like I forced you here. You're free to go back" He turned his head to look at her.
Ha Eun felt relieved that he had a smile on his face.
Once at the top Ha Eun was surprised by the breathtaking view, she thought that all that walking might have been, just a little bit, worth it.
Chang Wook took a few steps back and got another picture of Ha Eun. He felt that of all the pictures he had taken of her, that one was the best. She looked like a model, and she had a smile that no one could fake, a genuine smile. He's seen her smile before but, this one, really took his breath away.
As he looked through his phone's camera at her he whispered to himself "Ha Eun…I think I like you" words he never thought he'd say about his boss.
He saw through his phone's camera how Ha Eun turned to look at him. A surprised expression on her face. His heart started to beat none stop. Did she hear him? What was she going to say?
"Why do you keep taking pictures of me?" she asked him with an unamused expression on her face "As someone pointed out before" she pointed at Chang Wook "That's an invasion of privacy"
Chang Wook chuckled. A sense of relief rushing over him. He thanked God that she didn't hear him but, he wished that she had.
"I'm a contradiction even to myself" he said.
"What do you mean?" Ha Eun asked him.
Chang Wook shaked his head and told her they should head back down. They need to have actual food and prepare for the wedding tomorrow.
