In a high scale building, with an open garden and classic Italian style villa, big males and females are walking in and out, all of them using the upper part of a suit giving a sense of formality and progress, still on the down part they are using shorts and skirts giving a casual and funny feeling! In the exuberant building the entry sign board says "Prefecture of Newpath village", village! A really hard reality, as this is one of the more beautiful construction of the present age. Kings and Sages would vomit blood and turn green with envy if they knew about this. But still, on the upper floor of the building a big man look frustrated as he is staring to a pillar. For most people, this is just an old pillar, blue and have magic luminescence, but a forgettable old rock nonetheless.
The young man doesn't think so, as his head is full of thoughts.
He touches the pillar again and a data sheet opens inside his head.

it's been one year since I activated this thing, is a good way to make a census and keep track of my progress, but this rock came from a game universe, a lot of information present in this don't make sense in my reality and is kinda hard to make work. Like the spawn rate.
Every day a person to three appears out a nowhere in the city. In the beginning was very alarming and weird, but this spawnpeople are kinda innocent and not very smart, quite fast they were "adopted" by other families, of course, they all appear as Altiorens, which make things easier, but by no means this is a piece of cake, thanks god(me) I have Sebastian and my Aldermans to help out with the challenges.
But the gold production, steel production, city points and low level make me feel bad. For steel and level, I only need time to resolve but gold and points, these are game features. I could use the system to resolve for me, but this take the fun of things.
*uuuf*
I let a sigh and get up. There's nothing to be done here!
The third floor of this building don't have much to show, just my personal room and some meetings room, I take the stairs to the second floors, I could not stop but feel proud! Education department, Agricultural department, law department, housing&construction department and sanitation&health department. All of those under the voted Aldermans!
Greeting the people as I pass and sending smiles to a few women I come down to the first floor, here things are more populated, is the end of the year, so people are coming to pay taxes or to make quests about new politics like house deed, boat deed or to resolve general problems. Everyone is very respectful, and they are being attend fast, I make sure of that! Bureaucracies are important for organization and stuff, but I don't tolerate that became a problem that only drags for more problems! All the employees here are well paid and trained! And of course they have monthly reviews, for checking efficiency and improvement ideas!
Again i smile to my people. They all seem happy and healthy, very different for the fishing village from before... this is still a fishing village, but is not as dependent as before. When I reach the garden I see a lot of people talking about the house deed that will be available next year, they are enthusiast and passionate about, this is good!
Today I'm the owner of basically every house in Newpath, people have to pay rent for me, this has to change. First, owning a house is much more than "don't have to pay rent", owning a house give people independence and a proud feeling (and obviously property). Second, I will not be responsible for construction of more houses this way, I just sell the land and people build themselves, so I shut down my biggest money grabber department! Annual tax still exist, and I will have a boon on "construction guilds".
This is how private enterprises are called here, "Guilds" the village have 3 fishing guilds, 1 carpenter guild, 1 Mason guild, 2 crafts guilds, of course dozens of people work independently or in family business, but I prefer guild as they generate more jobs and is easier to take tax. But independent job still have a certain appeal to people, and I won't force people to create guilds.
I continue my way home, all the streets are well done ( I make them after all) they have enough space for 4 carriage side by side. Newpath don't have any horse carriage but have riquexó and donkeys. In the future this place will have bike's too. Not that walking is a problem, Altiorens are stronger than humans and this is such medieval era, walking is the normal here.
On my way I enter on the second most proud building in the village, the Dungeon.
This actually came from a real fantasy world, not a game. I spent 4 months reading books before installing this thing, just to make sure will work.
This is a beautiful 30 meters tower. A smaller version of Pisa Tower. Inside is much bigger, having 5 gigantic floors (+ the ground floor) a lot of magic was necessary for this building and the maintenance, my soldiers train here every day! I greet the 4 standing soldiers and go to the looker's room. Today is dungeon day!
