The smell of burning wood and fresh grass was the first thing that Aine awoke to as she eased back into consciousness. For a moment Her mind was fog so heavy with sleep that the memories and emotions of the past two days alluded her mind for a second. But, quickly the fear and memories of the burning bodies and blazing fire easily returned. The memories causing her to curl onto her side as the feeling of an icy cold pain erupted along her skin. She wrapped her hands around her waist as she tried to forget the smell and taste of her own blood. She tried to hold back the sob of fear and Relief. The feel of a heated hand laying across her back was what broke her and allowed the wave of sobs to spill over. She cried for what seemed like forever and through that whole time, the feel of that burning warm laid across her back as though holding her provided comfort to her.
When the tears had finally dried and the fear and relief were gone. She allowed herself back into the present reality. She laid there wrapped in warmth, her eyes grazing across the green grass and the tall trees. This place as she listened and felt everything was alive. It wasn't devoid of any life but instead so full for a moment she could believe that she was in her own secret little word. "Do you feel better now?" It asked for a moment she didn't know how to answer and if she honestly wanted too.
Though, It never did anything dangerous towards her Aine knew how dangerous it could be. She had watched it burn an entire village to the ground caged. But, Then again it did kiss her and Thank her for freeing it even going far enough to call her it's wife. She turned in till it came into view and what laid beside her was a somewhat honest surprise. He looked all the round human. His horns were gone and his skin was not an orange hue like the realm nor a pasty white but instead a natural honey-like hue. His hair was the shade of midnight and a much shorter than when she had first seen him. It was only his eyes were probably the only indications that he possibly couldn't be human. His eyes were the shades of the darkest red, brightest orange, and sunniest yellow she had ever possibly seen. If she didn't see that she could see him as the most beautiful man she had ever seen with his high cheekbone, straight roman nose, and full lips.
She was quiet for a moment before she takes the time to nod her solely focused upon his face at this point. "That is good. I was worried the amount of magic was too much for you." He explained before reaching the pull back a strand of hair from her face and moved it behind her ear. "Do you feel weak? Tired. You didn't sleep as much as I would like. Only a day or so. This wasn't the best place but I figured we could make it on our own in time." He explained pulling himself up into a sitting position to stare across at the massive opening of fresh green grass spread out before them. Those words alarmed her making her sit up as well and look towards the field in surprise. "Make our own. What do you mean?" She licked her lips as she forced herself up. He turned towards her then and for a moment his pupils thinned as they narrowed on her chest. It was then that she realized that she was naked and in the first time in twenty-four hours she screamed.
200 miles away in a small city known as Ayako...
Micheal Divine paced the length of his office in worry as he waited for the call of his most important and favorite employee. He hated that he had to have called Aine on her vacation but he wasn't a very patient. The picture was worth millions and to have it in the gallery would be wonderful and generous. But, The picture was not worth Aine's life. It had been a day since she had last called and the picture had only been 5 miles from the hotel Aine had to suppose to be checked into. It wasn't like her to not check in with him so to have no call in the last day was nerve-wracking. He turned towards the window of his business office and watched as the city bustled with life. He felt a wave of intense heat burned through his entire body sending the glass of angel's kiss to the floor shattering it into a thousand pieces. The reddish hue of the gin and the white of the cream mixed together to create a reddish hue similar to blood. A deep-rooted fear that once drove him so long ago came back sending him huddling against the desk. Something Ancient had awakened. Something so primal that it had scented a wave of power so deep that it made him something just nearly as old tremble in fear.
Micheal forced himself to stand before racing towards the roof. He was ignoring the pain of the glass as it cut into his feet. Bloody footprints laid wast behind him as he rushed up onwards to the roof. The oblivious to the threat that may lay near them all now. "Oh, Please no. Please don't let this happen." He prayed as his eyes focused into the darkness. The balance would change in the city know and he would come looking to see the reason. Micheal wrapped his arms around his waist at the thought of him. It had been so long since he thought of him. The man who could crumble cities and topple empires. Micheal looked towards the darkness once more and caught the sight of the glowing power as it roared across the distances. Yes, He would be coming and then lives would change for better or for worse it would be fate design in the outcome.
