The black wolf was tired and wounded. This Human appeared at the worst moment possible. It bared its fangs trying to scare the human away.
Samuel was in a dilemma. How to approach it. It was very wounded, but its fighting spirit was still standing strong. He wanted to hit it once to know how much hp it had left, but he might kill it and that would be a shame.
"Well, I have to risk it if I want to get it."
Samuel caught a stone from the ground and threw it, hoping it to deal any damage. If doesn't, he can't see the level and hp from the wolf.
[Black Wolf]
Level: 8
HP: 53/930
Samuel was overjoyed to see its hp. It was probably better than a common wolf though he couldn't see the rarity.
The wolf concluded the human was not afraid of it so he tried to attack him. It's only chance was to kill before it gets killed.
Samuel saw the wolf lunging at him. Its feral eyes showing determination to fight to the death. When the wolf's maw was close to butting his neck, he sidestepped and jumped on the wolf. Samuel movements were a little awkward, but he pinned the wolf to the ground the best he could.
The wolf tried getting out of Samuel's grip, but it couldn't escape. It was too spent from the last fight. Even so, it kept struggling and causing minors wounds to Samuel.
After 5 minutes, the wolf struggling got weaker. Samuel put his hands on its head and used tame skill. The wolf resisted and the skill failed. He didn't mind it. He had it pinned anyway so he kept using the skill.
After 5 more time, the skill finally succeeded.
[Black Wolf tamed successfully]
[Pet's Status]
Name: None
Rarity: Uncommon
Level: 4
Race: Black Wolf
HP: 38 / 270
MP: 75/75
[Attributes]
Strength: 10
Vitality: 4
Agility: 12
Dexterity: 4
Intelligence: 2
Will: 2
As he thought, it was special. Although it was just a single rank higher, it could fight 3 level 10 wolves and win. It was a nice catch.
"A name.. My naming sense is very bad.. Hum.. Well, there are mentions to an old wolf God or something like that in some animes. I will name you Fenrir."
Fenrir's stats were focused on damage dealing. Its agility and strength were high. Its hp was lower as a Pet, but was still high compared to its stats. Probably the rarity had something to do with that.
Samuel summoned Fenrir. The black wolf instantly came to him and was licking his hands. This show of affection was so much different from just now.
Samuel fought a few wolves to test their cooperation. Fenrir would go in front and Samuel would attack from behind. It was harder than he thought. Although he was indeed safer now, he had also to calculate his teammate position as to not shoot it from behind by accident.
Samuel at first became an arrow tower. He just stood launching arrows at the enemy while his pet engaged in close combat. But that was not the optimum for Fenrir. Fenrir is not that sturdy, his stats are more suited to avoiding damage than enduring it. So he did just that.
After fighting with Fenrir for a whole day, he started to get the hang if their new play. Fenrir would attack and retreat. The aggro would go to Samuel sometimes, but that was okay. He could dodge most low levels enemies.
Because of their characteristics, Samuel DPS increased considerably. The wolf base attack was higher than his, though he had higher damage through his criticals.
After almost leveling Dismantling to level 3, he logged off.

"Moon, please be reasonable!"
"I said this matter is over!"
A beautiful woman was showing an annoyed look. She was Moon Reflection, vice guild leader of the Heaven's Might Guild, the best guild in China and 6th in the world.
"If he's that strong we should get him to our side or destroy him. Are you thinking the best to the guild right now?"
"Are you saying I shall repay his favor with hostility?"
"This is for the Guild, you should know that already!"
"And I'm saying I'm not that kind of woman. If you really insist on that I'll be your enemy!"
Heaven Justice finally let it go, unwillingly. His guild leader was very capable, but very troublesome too.
She just reported about an Archer who actually found the first dungeon in the game. He showed decent skills for an archer, like hitting the target most of the time, actually he didn't miss one arrow completely. But she said at the boss he was like a sleeping lion who suddenly woke up. His reaction time got better and his movements became unhindered. He could solo the boss that would wipe their party with a few hits. This is not the kind of player he wanted to see free to grow.
Moon was aware of the guild leader's intentions. If it was anyone else she would agree too, but not WindBow. She has her own principles and wouldn't bring harm to him after he helped them. Although he asked for help, in the end he did most of the job himself.
The priest he brought with him as a dead weight, now was one of the top 5 most important in the guild thanks to having the heal skill.
Moon went back to killing monsters, she got an skill through a quest her guild members found. She wanted to hit level 10 soon. After seeing him fight, she unconsciously made him her target to surpass. Her eyes on the Level Ranking's first place.

In the middle of the village, close to the fountain, a man was thinking to himself, watching the movements of the world. This emerald green eyes was George. He was strangely quiet, what's not usual to him even when he is completely alone.
George is usually bragging and mumbling about grand objectives like conquering the world, but it's all just jokes mostly. George is in fact a unmotivated man. His family is rich and because of his two older brothers, there's barely anything he can do in his family's company. They're that competent. Although he's not bad at economics, his brothers are older and are doing this for longer.
So George would just say about grand goals as a way to make people like him more. He's used to it by now. No one dislikes compliment after an achievement.
But Samuel did it. Again. The most affected by the System announcements was not the guilds or common players, it was this George, who saw his friend truly leading the world by himself.
After staying like that for a long time he received a message.
"George, you alright?"
"Sam, bro, I'm fine. Why are you asking?"
"The announcement was 3 hours ago and I didn't get a message from you. I don't mind, but that's unlike you. If you're fine then that's okay. If I'm going to lead the world, I need my bro there."
George was stunned. One, two minutes passed until he finally calmed the rolling emotions inside him. Samuel trust in him and confidence in his skills moved him in a way he never felt. Samuel is very quiet and doesn't talk much about grand objectives or feelings. He prefers small objectives to pile up. So George got his intentions when said about leading the world. He was actually saying " If you're going to conquer the world, I'll help it happen to the best of my ability, because we're brothers."
"Yeah, Sam. Let's conquer the world!"
This time, his eyes were determined. For his brother who trusts him this much, he shall get serious for the second time in his life.

"Looking for a party, I'm Tank Warrior level 5."
Close to the forest was a lone warrior. His equipment was the same as everyone else. He had the kind of face that would be invisible in a crowd, neither good, nor bad, just average.
He was there for 45 minutes already, if he couldn't get party members in the next 15 minutes, he would try going solo to kill wolves. At that time, he saw a black wolf coming at his direction. This wolf was very dark and his eyes had a tinge of red under the light. It looked menacing.
As he was about to unsheathe his sword, he saw a person next to the wolf, an Archer with a very handsome. He felt as if he was radiating an aura. He never saw him before, but he felt this is what people call "Expert's Aura".
Samuel just got out and saw a warrior trying to find a party. That was not a common occurrence. Most tank warriors don't look for parties, but for guilds. They have low attack and that makes it harder to level up solo. Also, their equipments are among the most expensives to make sure the party stay safe. So it was rare seeing a Tanker not in a guild.
As he just got away, he heard some battle sounds. Samuel turned back and saw the warrior fighting a wolf that just got out of the forest. The Warrior's movements were like most players, static. He would attack anywhere in the wolf's body and let the wolf attack back, as if this was a turn based game.
"Why are you letting it hit you freely like that, at least make it difficult."
Samuel mumbled to himself, disappointed. The warrior heard it even if it was barely audible and got confused. Make it hard to hit me? Isn't this supposed to be a game? Why are talking about fighting seriously?
In his mind, fighting was hitting and being hit back, that's why he got a warrior class. Even so, that guy looks like an expert so he decided to listen to him. He used the sword to make it harder to the wolf to jump on him. He saw his HP didn't reduce as much now that the wolf was trying to find an opening to attack.
(It works!!)
ShieldMan was excited to keep fighting. He felt as if he just found a secret of the game.
"Oh, he heard me? That's not bad. Hey, aim for weak points. An animal like that is easy to find weak points like the head or the neck."
The noob warrior treated Samuel's words as his teacher's words. He immediately tried attacking the neck and eyes of the wolf with every attack. Soon the wolf was dead, his damage also increased with the correct attacking method.
"Thanks for your help, senior!"
"Don't mind it. I was just passing here."
Samuel saw the warrior bowing his head. He was probably Asian. Most westerners don't usually bow heads like that. The warrior was about to keep thanking him, but Samuel already left.
"I shall repay this kindness one day!"
Watanabe Shunsuke made a promise this day.
