Chereads / The Reaper's Student / Chapter 3 - A3

Chapter 3 - A3

"Hey Steph, wait for me!" Mystic crys out.

It's been a couple minutes since we left the library. were currently heading out through a nearby road filled with vendors, either selling they're newly crafted equipment, reselling other's, or providing on the spot service, like repairing, upgrading, or special order crafting.

Some were selling weapons layed out in a showy manner, like swords, daggers, axes, and other types of melee type weapons.

Some resort to hangging them to show the craftsmanship and the matterials used like Bows, Slings, Crossbows, and other ranged weapons.

Some even straight up using a little durability of the equipment just to demonstrate it's effects, like wands, staffs, orbs, and other magic type equipment.

All those weapons ranging from different classes, even the worst yet functional, class E, and some even reaching class A, one of the better classes. Ocassionally people would sell Class S, but most higher class equipment were either sold by the bigger shops like the double-edged magic swords sold by R&D Magic, and the unique type of weapons, the living weapons by ESpecial Equipments.

After a couple minutes, they finally reach the ports and started looking for the young master's mother.

Nearby the, the young master saw a woman wearing a red gown, with a pair of glass shoes and a red hat, while sheltering herself with a matching color umbrella. She was patiently looking for something while beside her was a huge armored fellow, looking as if he just went out from a war.

Mystic quickly grabs Steph and goes for his mother.

After finding the young master's mother, Steph quickly fixed herself up, and stiffen's out as if reporting to a military officer.

"Mam, Sir. Stephan from the Mianna family, reporting for duty." says Steph in a formal manner.

"It's okay Steph. You don't have to be so formal with us," say's the man clad with the beaten up heavy type armor, attempting to be nice.

"He's right Steph." say's the young master's mother in a nice tone, hiding her disgust, anger, and jealousy, though it was already noticed by Mystic when they first saw her.

"You've been taking care of Mystic since he was young, even teaching him magic!" say's the man with his voice filled in excitement.

"Anyway, I know you've been fond of magic son." Say's the man in a proud voice, "But today, we will finally buy you your adventure equipment!"

"Yes!"

"Good luck young master."

we head back to the pathway, as Steph head's back home. We went through, the shopping district, in there we started looking for my equipment.

It's been a tradition on our kingdom that every first born son of the family is to take his gloves and go out to the untamed lands. Either become an adventurer or enroll to military. Of course, not wanting to have a chance to become a war frontliner, I chose being an adventurer.

"Son, look at this dagger!" shouted my father while holding a dagger that's atleast 4 inches wide and 10 inches long.

"Dad! if I wanted a big-ass short sword, I would've went there," I replied in a sarcastic tone. "I don't want that thing dragging me just because I don't have enough strength for it!"

The fully armor clad old man moves closer to him laughing.

"Can't you at least tell us what you wanted so we can actually help you?" say's the father in a cheery voice.

"Don't worry dad, I'll look for the stuff," I said as I spin a blood red dagger in my palm, carefully observing it.

"Atlas! let him be," buts my mother, "we have to let him look for his' equipemt or he'll end up relying on us for looking later! say's my mom in a worried tone.

"okay, okay. I just wanted to support my son."

They were about to leave when I found a weird looking dagger. I held it in my palm carefully inspecting it.

A panel appeared.

"Inspect" (Skill)

leveled up to 3!

"Appraisal" (Skill)

unlocked!

I close both panels, rejoicing for my newly earned skill.

It was a normal looking dagger, the blade made out of obsidian third of an inch thick, 6 inches long, and 2 inches wide, making it black yet a little bit reflective.

The handle on the other was made out of a type of wood called ebonwood, making it a bit black yet still having a different shade than the obsidian. The moment i grip it's handle, it starts releasing an aura. Suddenly my grip strengthened and the strength started to spread from my palms to my whole arm allowing me to grip it tightly even with a small amount of effort.

a panel suddenly appeared.

I read the panel and called out for my father.

"wait, dad!" they turned around looking back at me with curiosity leaking from their eyes.

"I found my partner!" I held the dagger, raising it proudly in my hands for both of them to see.

"Not bad son. That's a fine looking dagger, the engrave's nice, the obsidian's even well sharpened and polished." He passes it to my mother.

"Nice handle, well preserved, and very hard to crack nor dent!" my mother added.

My father faces the vendor and takes the dagger from my hands.

"Sir, how much for the dagger?"

"250 metal currency,"

My father pays the vendor 2 Silver and 50 copper coins. After the transaction was completed, we start heading out to buy an armor.
