Chapter 15 - Reducing Animal Deaths, Global Warming, and the Water Bill

When it comes to veganism, the first thing that comes to mind is animal lovers who want to reduce their carbon footprint. The most common reasons why people turn to veganism usually involves loving animals and the world, as well as wanting to live a healthier lifestyle. While these are the most common reasons why people adopt a vegan diet, they are not the only ones. Different people have their own reasons for going vegan, and, for Steve Jobs, it was to eliminate his B.O.

In his lifetime, Steve Jobs, one of the founders of Apple, tried out many types of diets. Pescetarian, fruitarian, Apples-and-Carrots, Veganism. While it is undeniable that he tried out such diets in part because he wanted to look good, he had another reason: he wanted to shower less.

After reading ๐˜›๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜”๐˜ถ๐˜ค๐˜ถ๐˜ด๐˜ญ๐˜ฆ๐˜ด๐˜ด ๐˜‹๐˜ช๐˜ฆ๐˜ต ๐˜๐˜ฆ๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ ๐˜š๐˜บ๐˜ด๐˜ต๐˜ฆ๐˜ฎ by Arnold Ehret, Jobs started obsessing over his diet, believing that eating nothing but eating fruits and starchless vegetables would prevent his body from forming harmful mucus and body odor. With this belief, Jobs stuck to his primarily fruit and fasting based diet. He believed that his vegan diet meant that he wouldn't have to use deodorant or take regular showers. Unfortunately for Jobs, he was known as "a hippie with B.O." at one point, and his extreme diet merely caused those around him to be concerned about his health.

Nevertheless, Jobs stayed adamant that his fruitarian diet made it so that one shower a weak was sufficient enough to keep him clean. While this did not necessarily save those around him from his B.O., it did save him money on his water bills.
