Kaida slowly opened her eyes, she blinked and looked around. It took a while before she realized that she was in hers and Huli's chamber.
She was covered with a blanket and was laying in the middle of the bed. She tried to sit up, but when she got up she felt light in her head.
When Kyona saw that her big sister had woken up, she quickly got out of her chair and helped her to sit up.
She took the glass of water that was on the bedside table and gave it to Kaida to drink. She looked at her big sister with a caring look
"How do you feel my sister?"
Kaida took the glass of Kyona and gave her a reassuring smile.
"I feel weird, I don't know the feeling of defeat. How long have I been unconscious? "
Kyona took the glass from her and replied
"almost three hours sister, Jaya has taken care of your injuries. You have nothing serious but it is possible that your body is very sore from the fight "
Kaida took the blanket off her and slided her legs off the bed. Kyona tried to stop her from getting up.
"Sister you just woke up, it is better to rest a little longer"
She waved her hands gently and gave Kyona a little push to make it clear to her that she had to move
"Ky, it annoys me that he now has something to look down on me. I am not happy that I have been unconscious for three hours while he is enjoying his victory "
Kyona looked confused at Kaida and wondered what she was talking about. Who is enjoying his victory? Only then did she realize that Kaida of course did not know that Huli was also unconscious.
"Sister technically you did not lose but you did not win either"
It was now Kaida's turn to look confused at Kyona. What is she talking about, how could I not have won or lost?
Kyona saw that Kaida was looking questioningly at her so she said
"it's a draw, both you and Huli have .."
She was interrupted by a knock on the door. A voice could be heard from behind the door
"My lady I would like your permission to enter the chamber"
Kaida got up and put her bathrobe around herself. Kyona followed her to the door and opened the door
"Enter"
Together with Kyona, she walked to the sofa that stood in the chamber and they sat down. The servant bowed and stood at a respectful distance from them
"I apologize for my rudeness, your highness I did not know that you were already conscious. Your highness and my lady, I am here to inform you that the king is conscious again. In addition, the council members wonder whether the dragon ceremony would take place or not and expect an answer as soon as possible "
Kaida was even more confused and looked again at kyona. She whispered in her ear
"sister when the 30 minutes were over, both of you fell unconscious. "
Kaida stood up and walked over to the servant and helped him up.
" you don't need to bow to me. Would you be so kind as to pass on a message for me to the councilors? "
The servant did not know what to do because he was not used to being treated so warmly and could only nod.
Kaida gave him a warm smile and said
"Whether the dragon ceremony is being held or not is not their business. And never let them send someone to give me a message saying they expect a answer as soon as possible, if they need to know something they will"
The servant looked at Kaida with wide eyes and started fiddling with his hands. The servant was a boy not older than 15 years, he was approximately 1.60 cm. He had brown hair and black eyes.
It was clear that he felt uncomfortable passing on the message. Everyone knew that it was not advisable to go against the council members.
Kaida saw that he was in conflict with his thoughts, so she went to the window table. She grabbed paper and pulled the pencil out of the inkwell. She wrote something on the paper and when she was done she took her stamp and pressed it on the paper.
When she was done, she walked over to the servant and handed him the paper. She gave him a warm smile and said
"Don't worry, they won't blame you and if they do they have a problem with me"
Relieved, the servant took the paper and bowed before leaving the chamber.
Kaida turned and sat down on the sofa next to Kyona. She looked ahead and suddenly asked
"where is he?"
Kyona hesitated for a moment before but finally said
"he is in the north wing of the palace. Haya immediately ordered her guards to take him there. She also made a big fuss about the match. She pretended it was a hostile match and you wanted to consciously take his life "
Kaida's raised her eyebrows and she looked irritated at the door. She got up and went to her closet and took some clothing. When she had dressed herself, she turned to her sister
"How long before the dragon ceremony?"
Kyona looked at her in surprise, does she really want to do the dragon dance? Is she able to do it in her condition? She looked at her big sister and all her worries disappeared.
From the moment she got up it was visible that she could just move freely and was not bothered by anything. When she heard that Huli had also been unconscious, it seemed as if she was even more cheerful. As if the dent in her ego had cleared up mysteriously.
"At least four more hours my sister"
Kaida walked to the door of her chamber and nodded to Kyona
"that is more than enough time, come follow me to the north wing of the palace. I have more than enough of the kings mother "
......
Huli angrily walked back and forth in a sleeping chamber from the north wing of the palace. Everything in the chamber was turnend into ice and the temperature in the chamber was far below freezing.
The first thing he saw when he opened his eyes was his mother and he was not happy with what she had told him.
His mood had fallen so far that the entire north wing of the palace was covered with ice. If he had to believe the rumors about kaida, there was some truth in what his mother had told him.
But he couldn't believe that Kaida would really go that far to plan a hostile takeover. Why should she? And it can't be that he and Nana, Ronin, accidentally lost to her. Had she had help from someone?
Hu looked worriedly at his brother, the last time he had seen him that way was during the decisive night of the war. He wondered what their mother had said to him that Huli was so upset.
"Brother you are just awake, save your strength and ..."
The cold-blooded look that Huli gave him made him stop talking. Hu decided not to say anything anymore and to wait until his big brother had calmed down. He felt that his mother had done something again that she should not do.
In the meantime, Huli was getting worse by the minute. It was a long time ago that he had suffered a defeat. He didn't know if he was so angry because he had lost or because of his mother's words.
He also wondered why he was in the north wing of the palace and not in their chamber. Did it not bother her that he was unconscious?
"Hu, where is she?"
The cold tone in his voice caused shivers to run down Hu's back.
"She was carried to your chamber after the match"
Huli turned to Hu and approached him. Because of his anger, it was not quite clear what his brother said to him. When he was standing right in front of Hu, he said in a cold tone,
"why didn't she come over?"
Hu looked up confused and asked
"is she already awake then?"
Huli started to get annoyed at Hu because he thought he was protecting Kaida. He raised his voice and said
"why should she not be awake?" Who is sleeping around this time while a festival is going on? "
Hu rolled his eyes and thought, but were you not laying flat in bed a few minutes ago? Only you think I'm talking about just sleeping!
In his mind he was scolding his big brother until he suddenly realized that his brother did not know that Kaida was also unconscious.
"Brother what did mama say to you?"
Huli looked at Hu and wondered if he should trust his mother. He slowly began to radiate less cold and the temperature in the chamber slowly began to rise again
"Tell me what happened"
When Hu had told the whole story the temperature dropped again and this time it became colder than it already was. A strong cold wind blew through the entire north wing of the palace.
Suddenly Huli turned and looked at the door. Who is it, that is melting my ice?
