Chapter 5 - Is that a fox?

The week passed like a flash. Despite the fact that the warriors were skeptical, Kaida had 200 warriors who were willing to follow her.

Kyro and koto had managed to convince 500 warriors of their tribe. Together they had an army of 700 warriors. It was a young army. Many warriors of the older generation stayed behind, in case the king needed manpower in the North.

Kaën and Kayra were able to convince 400 warriors together. They came from the Dragon Tribe in the South-East and would join together with Kaida, Koto and Kyro at the first city on their path.

Rei came from the tribe in the South-West and needed a longer way to go. That is why she would join them at the second town on their path.

With the help of her uncle, the wolf tribe had a good strategy. They had started attacking the villages of the dragon tribe far from the border of the South and where working their way back to the border. So that when the dragons tribe would take action they will fight close to the border. That was the place of the battlefield that will be more favorable for the wolf tribe.

Kai was aware of this and already send a messenger to the fox tribe in the North. He felt that something was wrong. The wolf tribe was in the west but the war was waged in the north.

Why in the area of the fox tribe when my brother had a conflict with the dragon tribe of the south. And why is it so quiet in the east where the snakes tribe is located. There is no possibility that they would keep out of the war. Especially because this will be a chance for them to fight their conflict with the fox tribe.

Kaida stepped on her horse and looked backwards. It was time to leave and show the older generation that we younger warriors were worthy to praise.

Kaida was calm and wondered if this was the silence before the storm. Rei had already proposed a strategy before she went to the South-West tribe so Kaida knew which action she needed to take.

Kyro had already left to go to the South-West tribe with 250 warriors to meet Rei and would ride with her to the second village on their path.

Kyro went personal because he was worried about Rei and he missed her terribly. Even though he denied that he was in love with her. They were just friends.

Together with Koto and an army of 450 warriors, Kaida left for the first village on their path.. It was already dark when she came near the village. Kaida watched if she saw traces of Kaën and Kayra. They would arrive earlier so they would set up a camp.

Suddenly she heard a roar. She gestured that they needed to take cover and hide. Was it a wolves howl, were we discovered? no it did not sound like a wolves howl, but what was it?

Kaida looked around but did not see anything. She knew that she first had to join Kaën and Kayra. If she was attacked now, it was certainly not favorable for them.

Koto crouched next to kaida.

"I know where Kaën and Kayra camp have been set up, it is not far from here and because we are familiar with these forests we wil arive there quick. What are your orders? "

Kaida thought about it.

"Go to the camp and i'll stay behind with 50 warriors to investigate what that sound was. It is clear that it does not come from the camp. I'm afraid if we leave this for what it is, it could have a negative effect for us. "

Koto nodded and left.

Kaida left with a small group towards the place where the roar came from. Even though it was dark, they had no trouble finding their way in the forest.

For the dragon tribe children it was customary to be left behind in the forest. This would benefit their training.

When she came to an open field in the forest, Kaida was shocked. She did not know what she saw!

In the open field she saw a large gray fox surrounded by a wolf and a snake. The wolf growled and the snake hissed to the fox. The fox stood proud and looked at them confidently.

"I have never seen a fox and what an impression."

It reminded her of the Dragon of her mother.

The wolf and the snake flew at the fox. The fox moved to the right and bit the wolf in his neck, with a quick move he threw the wolf on the snake.

The wolf whimpered with pain and the snake sighed with anger. The snake threw the wolf from him and suddenly moved quickly towards a rock. The look in the fox changed and he rushed to the rock.

Kaida looked at the rock and wondered what was so special about it. Suddenly she saw that a person was leaning against the rock. He seemed injured and not conscious. It was clear that the snake was aiming for him.

Was he the master of the fox? If so, what happened to him and what did someone from the fox tribe or the snake tribe do in the south.

Kaida divides her warriors into two. 25 warriors were responsible for defeating the wolf and warriors of the wolves tribe. The others were responsible for the snake and the warriors of the snake tribe. Kaida knew that snakes were hard to beat, so she went with the warriors to defeat the snake.

The snake went at a faster speed than the fox towards the man. The fox was worried and growled. The man regained consciousness and saw what was happening.

"Is this the end? I always thought that my death would be a lot more spectacular. What a disappointment"

Suddenly a spear flew through the air at great speed. The spear pierced an eye of the snake. The snake hissed from pain and came to a halt. The snake craweled across the ground.

At that moment a girl with hair as red as fire fell from the sky. She pierced her sword between the eyes of the snake. With quick movement she pulled out her sword and cut her right sword into the scales of the snake. The snake fell with a blow. With a head roll she ended on top off the snake and released the mercy blow.

On top of the snake stood a girl of young age, with hair as red as fire and eyes as red as rubies. She was not big nor small. Despite being young, she had a voluptuous body. She had a fierce look with a sword in each hand. You could see that she was a worthy warrior.

Who was she? Did she save my life?
