The footsteps stopped at my door, and the handle of my door began to turn with a screech in protest.
The door was then flung open, as a young girl with brown hair came into the room.
She then spoke for me in a hushed tone.
"Hello? Are you there? Quick we must go before the lady notices us!"
Feeling no threat from this girl, i slowly opened the wardrobe, and stepped out of the clothing, as she turned her head towards me and smiled upon seeing my person.
"What do you mean? Is there a reason we must avoid the lady of this house?"
I questioned the girl.
"We must escape! We must escape from here and run from the grasps of the Lady! She has been taking kids from anywhere possible, and has been decorating them for her own entertainment!"
The girl answered my question, but i had to ask what she meant.
"What do you mean entertainment?"
The girl's face turned grim and dark as she let her head droop.
"She brought three of us here first. She treated us with kindness, and won our trust, but soon after, she took my friend, Ben into her underground chambers to feast upon him. I heard the cries of Ben, but i thought it was an animal at first."
She then lowered her head even further, and continued her explanation.
"When she took Lizzy, i had to see what had happened. I snuck downstairs and peered through a hole in the wall as i saw what happened. Lizzy was chained to the wall! Her stomach was cut open and she had bruises covering her body as i could see an eye on the table, and bloody tears seeping from her eyes. I saw the back of the lady near the table, and she was humming a slow tone which she would hum to us at bedtime. She was waving a needle in her left hand, whilst stirring a bowl of dreary liquid with the other!"
The girl brought her head up, and her gaze stared deep into my soul with sorrow and horror.
"Come, we must run! Or we are next!"
She spoke hurriedly to me.
Then footsteps could be heard from the stairs, and the girl's face turned into one of fear as she quickly closed the door, and grabbed my hand, leaping into the wardrobe.
"Quickly! She's coming!"
The girl spoke frantically.
We entered the wardrobe and hid behind the clothes, as i peered through the keyhole once more.
The doorknob screeched in protest once more as the door was flung open vigorously.
"Hello my darling! Huh? He's not here. Where are you?"
A tall woman walked into the room, and a decorated red cloth covered the top half of her face.
"Are we playing hide and seek?"
The woman continued.
She began to peer under the bed, and then check under the table when she stopped to ponder.
"Where could you be…?"
Then she turned to the wardrobe, and let out a toothy smile which shone rays of light in the direction of the wardrobe.
The light pierced its way through the keyhole and blinded my eye, as i was pulled back by the young girl.
"Quickly! She must not find us here!"
The young girl had opened a small wooden hatch from the back of the wardrobe, and she quickly rolled into the gray room.
I followed suit, and fell into a dark gray room with only unshaped rocks as the materials for its construction.
Then the girl closed the small wooden hatch behind us, and i could hear the wardrobe open.
"Not here either? Could you perhaps be hiding in another room…?"
The tone of the woman was heavier, and her voice could be felt with a tinge of anger.
The wardrobe doors closed, and the room door closed, as I soon heard footsteps disappearing down the hallways.
"Hurry! We must begone from this household!"
The girl waved towards me, and i soon found myself walked down a gray corridor which retained the housing of bugs and spiderwebs.
A spiderweb hit my face and I clawed at my skin to remove it, and then a cockroach leapt into my hair before I crushed it with my palm.
I followed the stride of the girl through the jagged rocky floor of the path, and we soon found light up ahead, as i found myself looking upon a wooden hatch just like before, but it held light coming from the cracks of the hatch.
The girl quickly opened the door and we washed our persons in light as we crawled from the dark rock path.
We stepped into a room which had a table in the center, and a blood red chandelier up above, as i found myself staring into the glass of the chandelier.
"Stop staring! We must escape this place!"
The girl quickly shook my shoulders, and ushered me from my gaze on the chandeliers.
Then i nodded regaining my sense of self and followed her to the entrance of the room.
I heard a voice call out my name in the distance, but the girl reassured me to continue moving.
"Go and find him! The madam is requesting it!"
The coarse and heavy voice of James could be heard in the room beside ours, as i frantically began to panic.
"Stay calm! Or he will feel your fear!"
The girl continued moving towards a wall and in the corner i could see an air vent there.
I frantically picked up my stride, as i matched the girl in her footing.
Then she opened the air vent by taking the metal covering from the entrance, and waved for me to follow her.
I slowly got into the cramped path of which i could only crawl in, and she closed the vent with the metal covering afterwards.
"There is another boy here that we must rescue before leaving here."
The girl turned to me with a grim face.
"But i thought you wanted us to get out as fast as possible…?"
I spoke in a bleak tone whilst questioning her true purpose.
"We must escape, but i don't want anyone to bear the fate of being used by the lady."
The girl peered into the darkness of the vent, whilst the dancing of her voice waved down the path. The deep echo of her voice could be heard, and i understood what she meant.
No one would desire to meet a horrible fate.
"Now then, let us continue."
The girl lead me onward, as we crawled through the air vent.
I could feel the rough metal beneath my knees scraping away at the clothing i wore, but i paid it no mind as we needed to take as little time as possible.
My eyes gazed upon light as we exited the air vent, and walked into a room similar to mine, but there was a boy sleeping on the bed.
The girl walked over to the boy and shook his shoulders, as he was soon sprung awake, and let out a cry like that of a dying calf.
"Stop screaming! We must escape this place!"
The girl shook his again, and then covered his mouth with the vigor of a lion.
The boy struggled, and then calmed down as soon as he heard her explain what she had explained to me earlier.
"Do you understand?"
The girl spoke in a heavier tone to his face which had eyes widened to the extent of popping out.
She took her hands off of his mouth, and the boy shivered before getting off of the bed.
He had shaggy blonde hair, and was wearing the same crimson clothing i had on.
"Now the-"
The girl spoke but was interrupted as we heard the sound of footsteps coming down the hallway.
