"let's throw chits" said Elle , a 10 year old cousin of the new born baby. "What is chits?" asked Tia.
Elle giggled, as he was shocked to know that his grandmother did not know what chits meant.
Elle added, "each one of us will decide a name and write in on a piece of paper respectively, fold it and dump all of the papers into a "fishbowl" or something similar, then one of us will pick up a single chit, and the name written on it will be the name of the baby". It's a great idea exclaimed George.
Meanwhile Susan was awakened by a phone call. "Hello" ? as soon as Susan answered the phone call, she heard an excited voice from the other end, congratulating her, it was Anne, Susan's childhood bestfriend who were not less then sisters. Susan broke down as she heard Anne's voice, and as she narrated the whole incident that took place in the hospital, about the greatest fear of seeing their new born going under a surgery. As Susan was speaking to her best friend Anne, George overheard the conversation, but decided not to interrupt, as that would help Susan to overcome the incident.
While on the other end, Anne consoled her, and told her to move on from what had happened, as for now she had her baby safe with her. After a long conversation for about an hour, Anne was called for assistance, as she was working, so Anne had to disconnect the call.
Then Susan walked to the living room, where all were sitting and deciding who will take out the chit, and announce the name. As soon as Tia saw Susan, she said : "let the mother pick up the chit" , and all agreed. Susan did not know what was happening, so she asked what was the game all about, so Tia, explained what was going on in a short, sweet and a simple way, as she smiled.
All were eager to know, what name would be picked, as all kept their fingers crossed and prayed, that the name written by them , should be picked.
